Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.

. ATTACHMENTS

Do not use attachments not recommended by the product's manufacturer as they may cause hazards.

. WATER AND MOISTURE

o not use this product near water–for example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool.

. ACCESSORIES

Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.

9. VENTILATION

Slots and openings in the cabinet and in the back or bottom are provided for ventilation, to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat source. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.

10. POWER SOURCES

This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your appliance dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.

11. GROUNDING OR POLARIZATION

This product is equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

POWER-CORD PROTECTION

Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.

To protect your product from a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.

An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

7. OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING

If an outside antenna is connected to the product, be sure the antenna s

ystem is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electric C

ode, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with respect to proper

rounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the leadin wire to an antenna discharge product, size of grounding conductors, l

ocation of antenna discharge product, connection to grounding

electrodes and requirements for grounding electrodes.

18. SERVICING

Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

19. REPLACEMENT PARTS

When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.

20. SAFETY CHECK

Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.

21. WALL OR CEILING MOUNTING

The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.

22. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE

Unplug the product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged. b.

If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the product. c. If the product has been exposed to rain or water. d.

If the product does not operate normally by following the operating

instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the

operating instructions, as an adjustment of other controls may result

in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified

technician to restore the product to its normal operation. e. If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged. f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance–this

indicates a need for service.

23. HEAT

The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

24. NOTE TO CATV SYSTEM INSTALLER

This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer's attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

POWER SOURCES

AC:

Use the AC polarized line cord included with the unit for operation on AC power. Insert the small end of the AC cord into the AC jack on the rear of the unit. Insert the other end of the AC cord into any convenient 120V 60Hz household outlet.

NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug does not ﬁt into a nonpolarized AC outlet, do not ﬁle or cut the wide blade. It is the user’s responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete outlet.

DC:

Remove the Battery Compartment cover on the rear of the unit by pressing in on the tabs and then lifting it out. Insert eight (8) “C” size batteries (not included), observing the battery polarity indicated inside the compartment. Replace the Battery Compartment cover.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:

1. Use only the size and type of batteries speciﬁed.

Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.

3. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline, Carbon-zinc and rechargeable) or old batteries with fresh ones.

4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.

5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)

NOTE: We recommend Alkaline batteries for longer life and best performance.

OPTIONAL CONNECTIONS

If you are using special CD+G (Graphics) discs in this portable Karaoke system, you must connect this unit to a television set in order to see the On-Screen Graphics that are recorded on CD+G Karaoke discs. The video cable has yellow RCA type plugs on each end. Please note that your TV set must have an RCA type Video Input Jack in order to view the CD+G lyrics on your TV screen. You cannot connect this portable Karaoke system to your TV’s coaxial antenna terminal. Also note that On-Screen Graphics are only available on special Karaoke compact discs that bear the CD+G mark. Many newer TV sets have a set of Video and Stereo Audio jacks on the front panel for quick and easy connections without having to turn the TV set to gain access to the jacks on the back panel. If your TV set has such front panel A/V jacks, we suggest that you use those jacks to connect your portable Karaoke system. After connecting the Video Out jack on this portable Karaoke system to the Video In jack on your TV with the included video cable, you have the following three choices:

1. Listen to the sound from the built-in speakers in this portable Karaoke system. In this case, no external audio connections are required.

2. If your TV has stereo audio input jacks, you can connect the Audio Out jacks on the back of this unit to the Audio In jacks on your TV. The stereo audio connection cable is included. In this case, the lyrics from the CD+G disc will appear on your TV screen and the sound from the disc will be heard from your TV speakers. NOTE: If you have a mono TV with only one Audio In jack, you may have to purchase a “Y” adapter (stereo to mono) at your local electronics accessories store in order to combine the Left and Right stereo channels from this portable Karaoke system to a single mono channel for connection to your mono TV.

3. You can connect the Audio Out jacks from this portable Karaoke system to the Aux In or Audio In jacks of y

our home stereo system to hear the sound through your home stereo speakers. Follow the instructions

for your home stereo system to select the device connected to the external jacks as the audio source.

USING THE VIDEO OUT JACK WITH YOUR iPod

If you are using an iPod with video (5th generation) or iPod photo, you can connect this unit to an external TV with the included video cable, as shown on the previous page. You will then be able to view the photos (in Slideshow mode)/videos from the iPod on your external TV.

NOTES:

• If desired, you can also output the audio from your iPod using the audio connections shown on this and the previous page.

•

For more information on using an iPod with this unit, see pages 8-9.

•

Set the TV’s TV/VIDEO button or switch to the VIDEO setting.

• When connecting, refer to the owner’s manual of the TV, as well as this manual.

• When connecting to the TV, make sure the power is off and both units are unplugged before making any connections.

• Make sure to go into the Settings menu of your iPod and set the TV Out setting to ON and set the TV signal to NTSC; otherwise, you may not be able to view the photos (in Slideshow mode)/videos on your external TV.

AUX IN JACK

Insert one end of the audio cable (included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit and the other end into the AUX IN jack on this unit. To listen to the external audio unit, turn both units on and rotate the FUNCTION control on this unit to the AUX position. The external audio unit’s output sound will be heard through this unit's speakers.

OPERATION

Rotate the ECHO control clockwise to increase the echo or counterclockwise to decrease the echo.

ECHO CONTROL

When the AVC feature is activated, the vocals on a multiplex recording are muted as soon as the singer begins singing into the microphone. When the singer stops singing, the vocals are automatically unmuted. Adjust the AUTO VOICE control for the best balance between playback and microphone levels. IMPORTANT: This feature is only compatible with karaoke music content.

AUTO VOICE CONTROL (AVC)

NORMAL PLAYBACK:

Rotate the BALANCE control clockwise to decrease the left speaker’s sound or counter-clockwise to decrease the right speaker’s sound.

KARAOKE PLAYBACK:

Rotate the BALANCE control clockwise to decrease the music sound or counterclockwise to decrease the vocal sound level. NOTE: For multiplex CDs or iPod Karaoke files, if you would like to hear the vocal and music tracks at an equal level, set the BALANCE control to the center position.

To turn the microphone on, slide the ON/OFF switch, located on the side of the microphone, to the ON position. To turn the microphone off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. NOTE: Increasing the MIC VOLUME control on the unit will increase the volume of the microphone.

CONNECTING THE MICROPHONE(S)

This unit has two microphone jacks which will allow you to sing along with your favorite songs. Before connecting, make sure the MIC VOLUME control is set to minimum.

INSERTING AN iPod

Press in gently on the iPod compartment (A); the iPod compartment will spring outward. Locate the correct iPod dock to use as shown on page 16. Insert the dock (B) into the iPod compartment (as shown), making sure the dock’s two tabs are facing front, and slip the tabs into place.

Insert the iPod (A) onto the connector. Gently push down so the connector on the iPod slides onto the connector on this unit. Press in gently on the iPod compartment (B) until the iPod compartment clicks into place.

NOTES ON INSERTING AN iPod:

• After inserting the iPod onto the connector (with the main unit OFF or ON and in any mode), the iPod will

be in Pause mode.

• CHARGING: When the iPod is inserted into the dock, whether this unit is on or off, and while in any

mode, the iPod’s battery will charge until it is full.

•

CHANGING THE MODE: You can rotate the FUNCTION control to select between CDG/iPod/AUX mode as desired. To turn off the unit, press the POWER button.

• To remove all items from this unit, with the iPod compartment sprung outward, remove the iPod from the

connector first. Then remove the dock from the connector. To remove the dock, gently pull the dock out to remove it.

With an iPod connected (see the previous page), turn this unit on by pressing the POWER button; the POWER indicator will light.

To skip forward or backward on the iPod: Press the Skip/Search

(n) 1 or (o) 2 button to skip to the next track or the beginning of the current track/previous track.

To play/pause the iPod:

Press the Play/Pause (®p) button to start playback on your iPod. Press again to pause playback and press yet again to resume playback.

If you are not already in iPod mode, rotate the FUNCTION control to select iPod mode. You can operate the iPod using its own controls, as per its owner’s manual, and the sound will be heard through this unit’s speakers.

To search forward or backward on the iPod: Press and hold the

Skip/Search (n) 1 or (o) 2 button to search within the currently-playing track.

To adjust the main volume:

Rotate the MASTER VOLUME control to increase and/or decrease the volume.

NOTES:

• After inserting the iPod onto the connector (with the main unit OFF or ON and in any mode), the iPod will

be in Pause mode.

• To turn this unit off, press the POWER button; the POWER indicator will go out.

• To use the Echo, AVC and Balance controls and the microphone with iPod Karaoke file playback,

please refer to page 7.

Set the MASTER VOLUME control to a low setting.

The CD player will read the table of contents on the disc and the total number of tracks will appear in the display.

Press the CD OPEN/CLOSE area to open the CD compartment door. Place a CD on the center spindle, with the printed label side facing up. Close the CD compartment door.

Turn this unit on by pressing the POWER button 1; the POWER

indicator will light. Rotate the FUNCTION control 2 to select

CDG mode.

Press the Play/Pause (® ) button to begin playback on Track 1; the PLAY indicator will light.

Adjust the MASTER VOLUME control as desired. Playback will continue until all the tracks on the disc have been played.

To stop playback before the disc ends, press the

Stop (

■) button

. The disc will stop and the display will show the total number of tracks on the disc.

After the last track has been played, the disc stops automatically and the display shows the total number of tracks on the disc. If you are finished listening, press the CD OPEN/CLOSE area to open the CD Compartment door.

Remove your disc, close the CD compartment door and press the POWER button; the POWER indicator will go out.

After you insert the disc into the CD player and the total number of tracks appear on the display, you may press either the Skip/Search ( )

a specific track for playback.

When the desired track number blinks in the display, within five seconds, press the Play/Pause (® ) button. Playback will begin on the track you selected.

During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the Play/Pause (® ) button. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the PLAY indicator will blink.

Press the Play/Pause (® ) button again to release pause and resume normal CD playback; the PLAY indicator will remain on.

TO BEGIN PLAYBACK FROM A SPECIFIC TRACK

During playback, depress and hold either the Skip/Search ( ) or ( )

to move the player forward or backward within a track to locate a specific musical passage. The player will move forward or backward at high speed as long as the button is depressed. When you release the Skip/Search (

normal playback will resume.

During playback, press the Skip/Search ( ) button once to advance the player to the beginning of the next track. Press the Skip/Search ( ) button repeatedly to advance the player to higher-numbered tracks.

During playback, press the Skip/Search ( ) button once to move the player back to the beginning of the current track. Press the Skip/Search ( ) button repeatedly to move the player back to lower-numbered tracks.

To repeat a single track, while in the Stop mode, press the REPEAT button ❶ once; the RPT indicator will blink. Press the Skip/Search ( ) ❷ or ( ) ❸ button to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number blinks in the display, within five seconds, press the PLAY/PAUSE (® ) button ❹ to begin playback. The PLAY indicator will light and the specific track you selected will be repeated continuously.

To cancel Repeat Playback, press the REPEAT button ❶ until the REPEAT indicator goes out. You can also stop Repeat Playback by pressing the Stop (■) button ❷.

To repeat all of the tracks on a disc continuously, while in the Stop mode, press the REPEAT button ❶ twice; the RPT indicator will light. Press the Play/Pause (® ) button ❷ to repeat all tracks; the PLAY indicator will light.

REPEAT PLAYBACK

Turn this unit on by pressing the POWER button 1; the POWER

indicator will light. Rotate the FUNCTION control 2 to select

CDG mode.

Press the PROGRAM button; “0” will blink in the display and the PROG indicator will blink.

area to open the CD compartment door. Place a CD on the center spindle, with the printed label side facing up. Close the CD compartment door.

PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK

The CD player in this unit has a 20 track programmable memory that allows you to program up to 20 tracks on any disc for playback in any desired order. You may program 20 different tracks or you may also program certain tracks to play more than once. To perform programmed playback, proceed as follows:

Press the Skip/Search ( ) ❶ or () ❷ button to select the first track that you wish to program. When the desired track number blinks in the display, press the PROGRAM button

❸ again.

Press either the Skip/Search ( ) ❶ or ( ) ❷ button to select the next track you wish to program.

When the desired track number blinks in the display, press the PROGRAM button

❸ again.

Repeat step 5 until you have programmed the desired track numbers into the CD Program Memory. When the memory is full, “- -” will blink in the display.

Press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button ❶ to begin programmed playback. The PROG indicator will blink, the PLAY indicator will light and playback will begin on the first track that you programmed. The player will continue to play all of the tracks that you programmed in the order in which you programmed them. When the last programmed track has been played, the player will stop and the display will again show the total number of tracks on the disc. If you press the PROGRAM button ❷ and then press the PLAY/PAUSE (

®p) button ❶ again, playback will start on the first track you programmed and will continue until all the programmed tracks have been played.

It is also possible to use the Program and Repeat functions together to repeat a specific program indefinitely. First, program the tracks you wish to hear in the order you wish to hear them, as described above. Then, press the REPEAT button twice. The PROG indicator will blink and the RPT indicator will light.

Press the Play/Pause (® ) button to begin Programmed Repeat playback; the PLAY indicator will light. The player will play the tracks you selected in the order in which you programmed them. When the last track in the program has been played, the entire program will begin again.

Programmed Repeat operation will continue indefinitely until you press the Stop (

■) button.

PLAYING A CD+G (COMPACT DISC + GRAPHICS) KARAOKE DISC

ou can listen to a CD+G karaoke disc. CD+G discs combine the recorded music with an additional video track that displays the song lyrics on an external television screen if connected (see pages 5-6). As the song plays, the words to be sung are highlighted in a different color on most CD+Gs.

NOTE: Program, Repeat, Random, Skip and Pause on a CD+G disc operate the same as with standard CDs.

INFORMATION ABOUT CD+G KARAOKE DISCS:

CD+G Karaoke discs are designed specifically for playback in special CD players that include a CD+G decoder, such as this unit. These discs contain the lyrics to each song and the lyrics will appear on your TV screen, line by line, as the disc is playing. Usually the words on the screen will change color in time with the music to help you sing along at the proper tempo, even if you do not know the song. Some CD+G Karaoke discs have all of the songs recorded twice, first with music only, and then with music and vocals together. (This type of recording is called a “Multiplex” recording.) For example, if you purchase a CD+G disc containing four songs, tracks one through four may have the music only without vocals, and tracks five through eight might have the same four songs recorded with music on the left channel and the vocal tracks on the right channel. CD+G content stored on iPod devices does not display lyrics on television screen.

MICROPHONE FEEDBACK:

“Feedback” is a howling or screeching sound that occurs when the microphone comes too close to the speaker(s). To avoid microphone feedback, keep the microphone as far away from the speakers as the microphone cable will allow. If you must bring the microphone close to the speakers, such as when you are changing a disc or adjusting one of the other controls on the front of the unit, set the microphone

Insert a disc as instructed on page 10, steps 1-4, except using a CD+G disc. Insert the microphone(s) into the MIC jack(s). Make sure the unit is connected to a TV or TV and stereo as shown on pages 5-6.

Adjust the AUTO VOICE control as described below.

Press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button to start CD+G playback; the PLAY indicator will light and the image and lyrics will appear on the external TV, if connected.

Adjust the MIC VOLUME control ❶ as desired. Increasing this control will increase the volume of the microphone. Adjust the ECHO control ❷ to add an echo effect to your voice. The ECHO control ❷ is variable so add as much or as little reverb as desired.

Sing or talk into the

microphone and you will hear both the CD+G and the microphone.

When the AUTO VOICE feature is activated, the vocals on a multiplex recording are muted as soon as the singer begins singing into the microphone. When the singer stops singing, the vocals are automatically unmuted. Adjust the AUTO VOICE control for the best balance between playback and microphone levels. IMPORTANT: This feature is only compatible with karaoke music content.

• Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your ﬁngers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc.

• Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the compact disc label.

• Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the compact disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.

• If a compact disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the compact disc, it is probably dirty or damaged (scratched).

• When cleaning the compact disc, wipe in straight lines from the center of the compact disc to the outer edge of the compact disc. Never wipe in circular motions.

• This unit is designed to play only compact discs bearing the identification logo as shown here. Other discs may not conform to the CD standard and may not play properly.

• Compact Discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid damage.

• Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures or dust, etc. Prolonged exposure or extreme temperatures can warp the compact disc.

• Do not stick or write anything on either side of the compact disc. Sharp writing instruments, or the ink, may damage the surface.

Coloque ocho (8) pilas tamaño“C” (no incluidas), teniendo en cuenta la polaridad de las mismas indicada dentro del mismo compartimiento. Reemplace la tapa de dicho compartimiento.

CUIDADO DE LAS PILAS

Cuando utilice pilas en esta unidad, tome las siguientes precauciones:

1. Sólo utilice pilas del tamaño y tipo especificado.

2. Asegúrese de respetar la polaridad indicada en el compartimiento cuando instale la pila. La utilizacón de pilas no adecuadas podría dañar la unidad.

4. Si no va a utilizar la unidad por un período de tiempo prolongado, quite la pila para evitar que se oxide y se dañen las terminales.

5.Nunca intente recargar pilas que no han sido fabricadas para este fin, ya que pueden recalentarse y reventar. (Siga las indicaciones del fabricante de las pilas).

NOTA: Recomendamos utilizar pilas alcalinas para una mayor duración y mejor rendimiento.

CONEXIONES OPCIONALES

Si usted utiliza discos especiales CD+G (Gráficos) en este sistema portátil de Karaoke, deberá conectar la unidad a un televisor para poder visualizar los Gráficos en Pantalla grabados en los discos de Karaoke CD+G. E

l cable de video posee conectores amarillos del tipo RCA en cada extremo. Tenga en cuenta que su televisor deberá tener una entrada de video RCA para poder visualizar la letra de las canciones del CD+G en la pantalla de su TV. No podrá conectar el sistema portátil de Karaoke a la terminal de antena coaxil de la TV. También tenga presente que los Gráficos en pantalla sólo están disponibles en discos compactos (CD) e

speciales de Karaoke que llevan la marca CD+G. Muchos televisores nuevos poseen un juego de conectores de Video y Audio Estéreo en el panel frontal que permite realizar una conexión rápida y sencilla, sin tener que girar el televisor para llegar a los conectores en el panel trasero. Si su televisor cuenta con dichos conectores A/V en el panel frontal, le sugerimos que use los mismos para conectar su sistema Karaoke portátil. Después de conectar la Salida de video de este sistema de Karaoke portátil a la Entrada de video en su televisor con el cable de video incluido, usted tendrá las siguientes tres opciones:

1. Escuche el sonido proveniente de los altavoces integrados en este sistema Karaoke. En este caso, no se requieren

las conexiones de audio externas.

2. Si su TV posee entradas de audio estéreo, podrá conectar las Salidas de Audio ubicadas en la parte trasera de la

unidad a las Entradas de Audio correspondientes en la TV. El cable de conexión de audio estéreo viene incluido. En este caso, las letras de las canciones contenidas en el disco CD+G aparecerán en la pantalla de su TV y el sonido del disco se escuchará a través de los altavoces de su TV. NOTA: Si posee un televisor mono con una única entrada de Audio, probablemente deba adquirir un adaptador "Y" (estéreo a mono), en su tienda local de accesorios electrónicos, para combinar los canales de estéreo Izquierdo y Derecho de este sistema Karaoke portátil a un solo canal mono y así poder conectarse a su televisor mono.

UTILIZAR LA SALIDA DE VIDEO CON EL iPod

Si usted utiliza un iPod video (5ta. Generación) o iPod photo, podrá conectar la unidad a una TV externa con el cable de video incluido, según se explica en la página anterior. Podrá entonces visualizar las fotografías (en modo de Presentación de diapositivas)/videos desde el iPod en la pantalla de su TV externa.

NOTAS:

• Si así lo desea, también puede obtener el audio desde su iPod utilizando las conexiones de audio

descriptas en esta página y en la anteior.

Ubique el botón o interruptor de TV/VIDEO de la TV en la configuración VIDEO.

• Cuando realice la conexión, lea el manual del usuario de la TV junto con este manual.

• Cuando haga la conexión a la TV, asegúrese de que se encuentra apagada y que ambas unidades

están desenchufadas antes de efectuar cualquier conexión.

• Asegúrese de configurar en su iPod la Salida a TV en Encendido (On) y la señal de TV en NTSC a

través del menú de Configuración. De lo contrario, no podrá visualizar las fotos (en modo de Presentación de diapositivas)/videos en su TV externa.

ENTRADA AUX (AUX IN)

Inserte uno de los extremos del cable de audio (incluído) en el conector de LÍNEA DE SALIDA (LINE OUT) en la unidad de audio externa y el otro extremo en la ENTRADA AUX (AUX IN) de esta unidad. Para escuchar desde la unidad de audio externa, encienda ambas unidades y gire el control de FUNCIÓN (FUNCTION) de esta unudad en la posición AUX. El sonido proveniente de la salida de la unidad de audio externa se escuchará a través de los altavoces de esta unidad.

Gire el control de ECO (ECHO) hacia la derecha para aumentar el eco o a la izquierda para disminuirlo.

Cuando la función AVC (Auto Voz) está activada, las voces presentes en una grabación multiplex se silencian apenas el cantante comienza a cantar a través del micrófono. Cuando éste se detiene, las voces comienzan a oírse automáticamente. Ajuste el control de AUTO VOZ (AUTO VOICE) para un mejor balance entre la reproducción y los niveles del micrófono. IMPORTANTE: Esta función sólo es compatible con contenido de música Karaoke.

CONTROL AVC (AUTO VOZ)

REPRODUCCIÓN NORMAL:

Gire el control de BALANCE hacia la derecha para disminuir el sonido del altavoz izquierdo o hacia la izquierda para disminuir el sonido del altavoz izquierdo.

REPRODUCCIÓN DE KARAOKE:

Gire el control de BALANCE hacia la derecha para disminuir el sonido de la música o hacia la izquierda para disminuir el nivel de sonido de las voces. NOTA: En el caso de CDs multiplex o archivos de Karaoke iPod, si desea escuchar las voces y pistas musicales al mismo nivel, ubique el control de BALANCE

en la posición central.

Para encender el micrófono, ubique el interruptor de ENCENDIDO/ APAGADO (ON/OFF), situado en el lateral del micrófono, en la posición de ENCENDIDO (ON). Oprima con cuidado el compartimiento del iPod (A). El compartimiento saldrá para afuera. Ubique la base dock correcta de iPod según se indica en la página 16. Inserte la base (B) en el compartimiento del iPod (según lo muestra la ilustración) asegurándose de que ambas solapas de la base se encuentran mirando hacia el frente. Luego deslice dichas solapas hasta acomodarlas.

NOTAS SOBRE LA COLOCACIÓN DEL iPod:

• Luego de insertar el iPod en el conector (estando la unidad principal en ENCENDIDO (ON) o

APAGADO (OFF) y en cualquier modo), el iPod estará en modo de Pausa (Pause).

• CARGA: Cuando el iPod se encuentra insertado en la base dock, se encuentre esta unidad encendida

o apagada y en cualquier modo, la pila del iPod se recargará en su totalidad.

CAMBIO DEL MODO: Podrá girar el control de FUNCIÓN (FUNCTION) para seleccionar entre los modos CDG/iPod/AUX según desee. Para apagar la unidad, oprima ENCENDIDO/APAGADO (POWER).

Posicione el control de VOLUMEN PRINCIPAL (MASTER VOLUME) en un nivel bajo.

El reproductor de CD leerá el índice del disco y en la pantalla aparecerá el número total de pistas incluidas en el disco.

Oprima la puerta del CD (CD OPEN/CLOSE) en la parte superior de la unidad para abrir el compartimiento del CD. Coloque un CD en el compartimiento, con el lado de la etiqueta impresa hacia arriba y cierre la puerta.

Encienda la unidad presionando el botón de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO (POWER)

1; el indicador de dicho

botón se iluminará. Gire el control de FUNCIÓN (FUNCTION) 2 y

seleccione modo CDG.

Presione el botón Reproducir/ Pausar (®P) (Play/Pause) para

Ajuste el control de VOLUMEN PRINCIPAL (MAIN VOLUME) según desee. La reproducción continuará hasta que se hayan reproducido todas las pistas en el disco.

Para detener la reproducción antes de que termine el disco, presione el botón Detener (X) (Stop). El disco se detendrá y la pantalla mostrará el número total de pistas contenidas en el mismo.

Después de reproducir la última pista, el disco se detiene automáticamente y la pantalla muestra el número total de pistas en el disco. Si ya no desea seguir escuchando, presione la puerta del CD (CD OPEN/CLOSE)

en la parte superior de la unidad para abrir el compartimiento del CD.

Quite el disco, cierre la puerta del compartimiento del CD

REPRODUCCIÓN PROGRAMADA

El reproductor de CD de esta unidad posee una memoria programable de 20 pistas que le permitirá programar hasta 20 pistas de cualquier disco para reproducirlas en el orden deseado. Puede programar hasta 20 pistas diferentes o bien programar determinadas pistas para que se reproduzcan más de una vez. Para realizar una reproducción programada, proceda de la siguiente manera:

Oprima Reproducir/Pausar (® ) (Play/Pause) para iniciar la reproducción de Repetición Programada; el indicador de REPRODUCIR (PLAY) se iluminará. El reproductor reproducirá las pistas seleccionadas en el orden en que fueron programadas.

Cuando la última pista del programa se haya reproducido, el programa completo se iniciará nuevamente.

El funcionamiento de la repetición programada continuará de manera indefinida hasta que oprima el botón Detener (

(Stop).

Coloque un disco y, estando en el modo Detener (Stop), oprima RANDOM (ORDEN ALEATORIO) para seleccionar la reproducción aleatoria (las pistas se reproducirán en el disco aleatoriamente una sola vez y luego se detendrán). Los indicadores de ORDEN ALEATORIO (RDM-RANDOM) y REPRODUCIR (PLAY) se iluminarán y la reproducción se inciará automáticamente.

Si así lo desea puede oprimir REPETIR (REPEAT) dos veces para seleccionar la reproducción con Repetición Aleatoria (todas las pistas se reproducirán aleatoriamente en el disco seleccionado de forma continua); el indicador RPT (Repetir) también se iluminará.

NOTA: Para Detener y cancelar el Orden Aleatorio/Reproducción con Repetición Aleatoria, oprima DETENER (STOP) (■) .

REPRODUCIR UN DISCO KARAOKE CD+G (DISCO COMPACTO + GRÁFICOS)

Usted puede oír un disco karaoke CD+G. Los discos CD+G combinan la música grabada con una pista adicional de video q

ue muestra las letras de las canciones en una pantalla de un televisor externo, si éste está conectado. Mientras escucha

la canción, las palabras a cantar se resaltan con colores diferentes en la mayoría de los discos CD+Gs.

FUNCIONAMIENTO (CONTINÚA)

NOTA: Las funciones de Programa (Program), Repetición (Repeat), Orden Aleatorio (Random), Salto (Skip) y Pausa

(Pause) en un disco CD+G funcionarán de la misma forma que en CDs comunes.

INFORMACIÓN ACERCA DE LOS DISCOS CD+G KARAOKE:

Los discos CD+G Karaoke están diseñados específicamente para que se reproduzcan en reproductores de CD especiales que incluyen un decodificador de CD+G, tal como esta unidad. Estos discos contienen las letras de cada canción. Las mismas aparecerán en la pantalla de su televisor, línea por línea, mientras el disco se reproduce. Generalmente las palabras en la pantalla cambiarán de color a la par con la música para ayudarle a cantar en el momento apropiado, aunque no conozca la canción. Algunos discos Karaoke CD+G tienen todas sus canciones grabadas dos veces, primero con la música solamente, y luego con la música y las voces juntas. (Este tipo de grabación se denomina “Multiplex”). Por ejemplo, si usted compra un disco CD+G que contiene cuatro canciones, las pistas uno a cuatro tendrán la música sin las voces, y las pistas cinco a ocho tendrán las mismas canciones grabadas con música en el canal izquierdo y las pistas de voces en el canal derecho. El contenido CD+G almacenado en los dispositivos iPod no mostrará la letra de las canciones en la pantalla del televisor.

ACOPLE DE MICRÓFONOS:

El “acople” produce un sonido chirriante que ocurre por acercar demasiado el micrófono al/ los altavoz/ces. Para evitar este acople, mantenga el micrófono tan lejos de los altavoces como el cable del mismo lo permita. Si debe acercar el micrófono a los altavoces, ya sea por cambiar un disco o ajustar uno de los otros controles en la parte frontal de la unidad, ubique el interruptor de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO (ON/OFF) del micrófono en la posición de OFF (APAGADO).

Coloque un disco según se indica en la página 10, pasos 1-4, excepto si utiliza un disco CD+G. Inserte el/los micrófono/s en la entrada para MICRÓFONO (MIC). Asegúrese de que la unidad está conectada a la TV o a la TV y el estéreo como se explica en las páginas 5-6.

Ajuste el control de AUTO VOZ (AUTO VOICE) según se descibe a continuación.

Oprima Reproducir/Pausar (®p) (Play/Pause) para iniciar la reproducción CD+G; el indicador de REPRODUCIR (PLAY) se iluminará y la imagen y letra de la canción aparecerá en la TV externa, si la misma estuviera conectada.

Ajuste el control de VOLUMEN DEL MICRÓFONO (MIC VOLUME) 1 según el nivel deseado. Al aumentar el nivel de este control se incrementará el volumen del micrófono. Ajuste el control de ECO (ECHO)

2 para darle un efecto de eco a su voz. El

control de ECO (ECHO) 2 es variable, por lo tanto puede agregar mucha o poca reverberación según lo desee. Cante o hable en el micrófono, escuchará el CD+G y el micrófono.

Cuando la función de AUTO VOZ (AUTO VOICE) está activada, las voces de una grabación multiplex se silencian apenas el cantante comienza a cantar en el micrófono. Ubique su iPod en el siguiente cuadro y elija la base dock (el nº de Base Dock se encuentra grabado en la parte posterior de las bases según se indica en la siguiente página) que coincida con su iPod. Coloque la base dock correspondiente y su iPod en la unidad según se explica en la página 8.

OTAS:

• El iPod de Tercera Generación de 10-15GB utiliza la misma base dock que el iPod Cuarta Generación de 20GB. Asimismo, el iPod de Tercera Generación de 30-40GB utiliza la misma base dock que el iPod Cuarta Generación de 40GB.

• Para el iPod nano (Segunda Generación) y el iPod video (Quinta Generación), utilice las bases dock universales que vienen con su iPod.

• También hay una “funda antipolvo” (una base dock sin apertura para iPod) incluida con esta unidad. Inserte la “funda antipolvo” en el compartimiento del iPod si no va a utilizar el iPod con esta unidad por un período prolongado.

• Las cinco bases dock proveídas con esta unidad no son universales, sólo pueden utilizarse con este modelo solamente. No utilice las bases universales a menos que se le indique (vea la primera nota arriba mencionada). Su unidad podría verse dañada.

IMPORTANTE: El nº de Base Dock se encuentra grabado en la parte posterior de la base. Vea la

siguiente ilustración para ubicar el mismo.

uidado a los discos compactos

• Trate el disco compacto con cuidado. Agarre el disco compacto sólo por sus orillas. Nunca permita que sus dedos toquen el lado brilloso y sin etiqueta del disco compacto.

• No pegue cinta adhesiva, calcomanías, etc. sobre la etiqueta del disco compacto.

• Limpie el disco compacto periódicamente con una tela suave, seca y sin pelusas. Nunca use detergentes o limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar un disco compacto. Si es necesario, use un juego de limpieza para CD.

• Si el disco compacto brinca o se atora en una sección del disco compacto probablemente esté sucio o dañado (rayado).

• Cuando limpie el disco compacto, frote en línea recta del centro hacia la orilla exterior del disco

compacto. Nunca frote con movimientos circulares.

• Esta unidad fue diseñada sólo para tocar discos compactos que lleven el logotipo que se muestra aquí. Es posible que otros discos no cumplan con la norma de CD y no se escuchen bien.

• Los discos compactos deben guardarse en sus cajas después de usarlos para evitar daños.

• No exponga los discos compactos a los rayos directos del sol, mucha humedad, altas temperaturas o polvo, etc. La exposición prolongada o las temperaturas extremas pueden doblar el disco compacto.

• No pegue ni escriba nada sobre ninguno de los lados del disco compacto. Los instrumentos filosos o bien la tinta pueden dañar la superficie.

Limpieza de la unidad

• Para prevenir los riesgos de incendio o choque eléctrico, desconecte su unidad de la toma de corriente

cuando la esté limpiando.

• El acabado de su unidad puede limpiarse con un trapo seco y cuidarse como haría con cualquier otro

mueble. Tenga cuidado al limpiar y frotar las partes de plástico.

• Puede usar un jabón neutro y un trapo húmedo para limpiar el panel frontal.
