WARNING
RATINGS: 1 - 50 Volts DC - May be made and broken under load without pilot circuit. 50 - 600 Volts DC - Requires a pilot circuit to prevent disconnection under load. DANGER: This device is not intended to be broken under load without the use of a pilot control circuit. For operations over 50VDC, a control circuit must be used using the pilot
INSTRUCTIONS
and ground to safely prevent unintended current interruption by the device. Failure to follow proper usage will result in serious injury or death. 200A maximum with correct conductor size.
INSTALLATION: Wire sizes: 4 AWG to 4/0 AWG - Phases; 6 AWG - Earth; 8 AWG - Pilot Indoor Use; Outdoor use when used with 50 Volts or less and rubber boots Configurations: 2P + E + Pilot, 2P + E Colors: Black and Grey (Note: Black plug mates with grey receptacle, but grey plug mates only with grey receptacle).
1. Insure that wire and device rating is suitable for the application. NOTICE: The use of undersize
!
wire may result in product failure due to excessive heat.
2. Remove contacts from plug or receptacle by removing the plastic covered or metal screws on the bottom of the device. If the screws will not fall free after loosening, strike the device on a suitable surface to remove them.
There are inherent dangers associated with electrical products. Failure to follow safety precautions can result in serious injury or death. These instructions must be followed to ensure the safe and proper installation, operation and maintenance of the Meltric devices. conductor through the rubber boot. Crimp or solder the conductor into the ferrule at the rear of the contact. *(Ferrule crimp die color: Red)
6. Slide the phase contacts and the pilot back into the rear of the device and affix with the
appropriate screws. Tighten to 8 - 10 in lbs.
OPERATION:
Insert plug into receptacle and use lever arm to complete insertion and to lock plug into receptacle. Reverse operation to disconnect.
Crimp or solder the grounding conductor into the ferrule at the rear of the
Pilot control circuit must be used on installations of 50vdc or more. Insert the pilot
