Safety

1 Introducing the Camera
Read this section to learn about the features and functions of the camera. This chapter also covers system requirements, package contents, and the camera views.
1.1 System requirements
The camera requires a host PC with the following specifications:
Windows® XP, 2000, ME, 98SE operating system
Intel® Pentium III 1 GHz CPU or higher
At least 256 MB of RAM or higher
Standard USB 1.1 port or higher
4x speed CD-ROM drive or higher
At least 200 MB of available disk space
A USB 1.1 port will enable you to transfer files to and from the host PC, but transfer speeds will be much faster with a USB 2.0 port.

2 Getting Started
Read this section to learn how to start using the camera. This section covers only basic functions.
2.1 Charging
The camera is designed to use a build-in rechargeable battery. Only simply use the USB cable in the package to connect the camera and your PC, and the charging process will be started.
When traveling, you can also bring the AC-in power cable. By plugging the AC-in power cable into the outlet, the camera also can be charged.

2.2 Inserting an SD card
An SD card can be inserted into the camera to provide additional storage space.
To install an SD Card:
1. Open the SD card compartment.
2. Insert an SD card as shown. Make sure the gold contacts are facing up as shown.
3. Close the SD card compartment.
2.3 Turning on the camera for the first time
Press and hole the Power button to turn the camera on.
2.4 Changing modes
This camera is equipped with six modes: DSC, DV,
GPS, Music, Voice recorder, and Play
modes. Use the 4-way navigational buttons to change modes.

3 Using the Camera
Read this section to learn how to use the basic setup menu of this camera.
3.1 Using the LCD display
Use the LCD display to compose and review your pictures and videos stored in memory, and navigate the OSD (On Screen Display) menu.
Icons displayed on the LCD display also show the current configuration.

3.3 Setup menu
The setup menu includes a number of settings to configure your camera.
To access the Setup menu:
1. Turn the camera on.
2. Press the left / right button and select the Setting in the main menu.
3. Press the OK button to confirm.
To leave the Setup menu while the configuring the camera, press the Return button to leave the Setup menu and go back to the main menu.
3.3.1 Sound effect
Use this option to turn or off the sound effect of the camera.
1. Press the left / right button and highlight the Sound effect option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select between On or Off.
3. Press the OK button to confirm, and press the Menu button to exit the menu.

3.3.2 USB
Use this option when connected as a USB device.
Press the left / right button to highlight the USB option.
3.3.2.1 MSDC
Press the upper / lower button to select the MSDC.
Connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable. Now the camera will present as a removable disk.
While in MSDC mode, you can copy files from your PC to the camera, including Music files that can be played in Music mode.
For Music mode operation, please refer to “6 Music Mode” for detailed information.
3.3.2.2 PC-Camera
Note: Before connecting the camera as a PC-Camera, please install the driver on the CD-ROM first. Please refer to “10 Installing the Applications” for detailed information.
Press the upper / lower button to select the PC-Camera.
Connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable, and then the camera can be used as a PC-Camera, used in the Net­meeting or any on-line communication tools.

3.3.3 Welcome
Use this option to set a welcome screen when turning the camera on.
1. Press the left / right button to highlight the Welcome option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select from Default, Customize, or Off.

3.3.4 Frequency
Use this option to set a light frequency that is suitable for your indoor lightening setting.
1. Press the left / right button to highlight the Frequency option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select from 50Hz or 60Hz.
3. Press the OK button to confirm, and press the Menu button to exit the menu.

3.3.5 TV
Use this option to set the camera video output to match the TV system in your area.
1. Press the left / right button and highlight the TV option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select from NTSC or PAL.
3. Press OK to confirm, and press the Menu button to exit the menu.
Note: NTSC is used in North America and Asia. PAL is used in Europe. If you are unsure what the TV system is in your area, consult your dealer.
3.3.6 Auto power off
Use this option to set a period of inactivity after which the camera will switch itself off. This function can save the battery power consumption.
1. Press the left / right button and highlight the Auto power off option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select from 2 minutes, 30 minutes, or Never.
3. Press the OK button to confirm, and press the Menu button to exit the menu.

3.3.7 Date and time
Use this option to set the date and time.
Press the left / right button and highlight the Date and time option.
3.3.7.1 To set the date:
1. Use the upper / lower button to highlight the Date, and press the OK button to confirm.
2. Use the upper / lower button to select a specific month, and use the left / right button to select a specific date.
3. Press the OK button to confirm and return to Date and time menu.
3.3.7.2 To set the time:
1. Use the upper / lower button to highlight the Time, and press the OK button to confirm.
2. Use the upper / lower button to adjust the number, and use the left / right button to change between fields.
3. Press the OK button to confirm and return to Date and time menu.
3.3.8 Language
Use the option to set a language for OSD menu of the camera.

3.3.9 Default
Use the option to reset all settings to the factory default.

3. When Confirm is selected, press OK button to confirm and proceed.

3.3.10 Format
Use this option to format the data stored on the memory card or in the internal memory.
1. Press the left / right button to highlight the Format option.
2. Use the upper / lower button of the 4-way navigational buttons to select from Cancel or Confirm.
3. When Confirm is selected, press OK button to confirm and proceed.
Note: When is function is proceeded, all stored data will be erased and cannot be recovered. Make sure you backup all data before formatting.

4 DSC Mode
Read this section for detailed functional operating of DSC mode.
To enter the DSC mode:
1. Turn on the camera, and press the left / right button to highlight the DSC option.
2. Press the OK button to confirm.

4.2 Taking your first picture
Before taking your first picture, ensure you have read “1 Introducing the Camera”, “2 Getting Started”, and “3 Using the Camera” carefully.
To take a picture:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode.
2. Use the focus area on the LCD screen to frame the picture.
3. Press the Shutter button to capture the picture.
The picture will be saved either on the SD card or in the internal memory with a unique file name.
4.3 Using the self-timer function
Use the self-timer function to set a delay between the moment you press the shutter and the moment the picture is actually captured. A delay of 2 or 10 seconds can be set. This function can only be used in DSC mode.
To set the self-timer:
1. Turn the camera on and ensure it’s in DSC mode.
2. Press the right button to select from Off, 2 sec, or 10 sec. The selected timer will be shown on the center of the LCD screen.
3. Press the OK / Shutter button to start counting down.

4.4 Using the zoom function
This function works in both DSC and DV modes. When in Video Clip mode, the zoom must be set before the video recording starts, for the zoom cannot be adjusted during the recording process.
There are two ways of controlling the zoom function. One is to press the zoom button left (zoom in, which getting closer to the subject), or right (zoom out, which moving away from the subject).
The other is to press the upper button (zoom in, which getting closer to the subject), or the lower button (zoom out, which moving away from the subject) of the 4-way navigational buttons.
The zoom bar on the LCD screen indicates the zoom status.
4.5 Setting the white LED
While in DSC mode, press the left button of the 4-way navigational buttons to switch between white LED modes.
See the table below for a detailed description and symbol of each white LED mode.

Automatic white LED, fires only when needed.
Forced white LED, white LED is always on.

4.6 DSC mode menu
Read this section to configure settings in DSC mode.
4.6.1 Scene
Use this option to select a proper scene mode to capture a still picture.
To set a scene:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Scene option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from Auto,
Portrait, Scenery, Night Scene, Motion, Sepia, B/W, Pink, Green, or Blue.
4. Press OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.2 Capture mode
Use this option to select a capture mode for the still image you’re going to capture.
To set a mode:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Capture Mode option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from Normal, Couple shot, or Continuous shots.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.
4.6.2.1 Couple shot
Use this option to combine two different images in one photo.
To use the couple shot:
1. Press upper / lower button to select Couple shot from the Capture mode menu, and press the OK button to confirm.
2. Use the LCD screen to frame the first image you want to shot, and press the Shutter button.
The first image will appear on the left side of the LCD screen.
3. Use the LCD screen to frame the second image you want to shot, and press the Shutter button.
The second image will appear on the right of the LCD screen.
Now you combine two different images in one photo.

4.6.2.2 Continuous shots
Three pictures will be taken continuously when this function is activated. Use this function to take continuous pictures with a short delay between each.
To set continuous shots mode:
a. Follow the steps described in 4.6.2Capture mode to enter
Continuous shots option.
b. Press the OK button to confirm.
c. Press the upper / lower button to select an Encircled
exposure mode for Continuous shots.
d. Select from Normal, 0.3EV, 0.5EV, or 1.0EV, and press
the OK button to confirm.
e. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.2.3 Picture frame
This option can be used to add a picture frame to your pictures when they are taken. There are 16 picture frames to choose from.
To set a picture frame:
a. Follow the steps described in 4.6.2Capture mode to enter
Picture frame option.
b. Press the OK button to confirm.
c. Press the upper / lower button to select a picture frame
from the list. When browsing the picture frames, press the OK button to get the preview of each frame.
d. Press OK button to confirm.
e. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.3 Resolution
Use this option to determine the resolution of the picture that going to be taken. A larger resolution will occupy more memory storage space.
To set resolution:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Resolution option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from VGA, 1.3M,
3.1M, 5.0M, 10.0M or 12.0M.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.4 Date stamp
Use this option to set the date stamp shown on the images.
To set the date stamp:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Date stamp option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from No stamp, Only
date, Only time, or Date and time.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.
4.6.5 White balance
Use this option to correct color for different lighting conditions.
To set white balance:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the White balance option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from Auto, Daylight,
Cloudy, Tungsten, or Fluorescent.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.6 EV adjust
Use this option to change the exposure for your pictures. Usually this value would be set to normal, but you might want to increase the exposure to light up a subject with black lighting, or decrease the exposure if taking a picture of something very bright.
To adjust the EV:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the EV adjust option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from –2.0 ~ Normal ~ +2.0.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

4.6.7 Image quality
Use this option to set the image quality for the picture you’re going to capture. A high quality picture occupies more memory space.
To set the Image quality:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DSC mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Image quality option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from Basic, Better, or Best.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

5.2 Shooting your first video
Before shooting your first video, ensure you have read “1 Introducing the Camera”, “2 Getting Started”, and “3 Using the Camera” carefully.
To shoot a video:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DV mode.
2. Use the focus area on the LCD screen to frame the subject.
3. Press the Shutter button to start recording.
4. Press the Shutter button again to stop recording.
The video will be saved either on the SD card or in the internal memory with a unique file name.
5.3 Using the zoom function
Please refer to ”4.4 Using the zoom function” for detailed information.
5.4 Setting the white LED
In DV mode, the white LED can be used as an illuminator.
Press the left button of the 4-way navigator buttons to change the white LED mode between On or Off .

5.5 DV mode menu
Read this section to configure the settings in DV mode.
5.5.1 Frame rate
Use this option to set a frame rate when shooting the video.
To set a frame rate:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in the DV mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Frame rate option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from 20 fps or 30 fps.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.
5.5.2 Resolution
Use this option to set the resolution for the each video shutting.
To set resolution:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in the DV mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Resolution option.
3. Press the upper / lower button to select from CIF or VGA.
4. Press the OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

5.5.3 Scene
Use this option to select a proper scene mode to shoot a video.
To set a scene:
1. Turn on the camera and make sure it’s in DV mode, and press the Menu button.
2. Press the left / right button to highlight the Scene option.
3. Press the upper / lower button select from Normal, Sepia, or B/W.
4. Press OK button to confirm.
5. Press the Menu button again to exit the menu.

6 Music Mode
Read this section and learn how to operate the camera as an Music player.
To enter Music mode:
1. Turn on the camera, and press the left / right button to highlight the Music option.
2. Press the OK button to confirm.
6.1 Import Music files into the Camera
Please refer to “3.3.2.1 MSDC” to learn how to import files into the camera.
6.2 Play list and Music mode buttons
When entering the Music mode, a file list will be shown on the LCD screen.
To play an Music file:
Press the upper / lower button in the play list and highlight the file you want to play.
Press the OK button to start playing, and press it again to pause.
Press the lower button to stop playing.
Press the left / right button to move to the previous / next file.

8.2.6 DPOF
Use the DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) function to tag pictures stored in memory with print information. You can tag to print pictures.
DPOF requires an SD card. When all images to be printed are tagged, remove the memory card and take it to a photographic shop for printing, or use it with a DPOF compatible printer.
To set DPOF parameters:
1. Press the left / right button to highlight the DPOF option.
2. Press the upper / lower button to select from Current or Reset.
Current: Enables you to
tag current image to be printed.
Reset: Clear all tags.
8.2.7 Direct Print
You can connect the camera to a printer and print images directly from the camera. Connect to a printer using the USB cable exactly the same way, as you would connect a PC. Select the DPS option to connect to a printer when the menu appears.

The players move and rotate pieces of different shape in such a way so as to complete one or more horizontal lines. Once the line is completed it will disappear. The purpose of Tetris game is not allowing the pieces to over-fill the board.

10 Installing the Applications
10.1 Drivers
After installing the camera driver, you can use the camera as a “Mass Storage device” on the PC.
10.1.1 Camera Driver
The camera offers Mass Storage function as a card reader device.
When the driver has been installed and the camera is connected, the camera memory and any installed mini SD card will appear as Mass Storage Device in Windows Explorer. Files can be dragged and dropped in the same way as on an ordinary disk.
Before connecting the camera to the PC as a PC camera, please also following the instruction to finish the driver installation.
Please follow the instructions below:
1. Insert the supplied CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Use Windows Explorer to execute the Setup.exe file in the root directory.
3. The installation is configuring the window settings.

Blaze Video Magic V1.0 is a suite of powerful multimedia transformation software, which can transform media files into ASF and AVI format under Windows systems. AVI-MPEG4 is mainly for the portable digital devices using Excellent Coach 7.
3. Brief Instructions
3.1 Load files: Use the Add File button on the interface to load the files to be transformed and drag them into the list box.
3.2 Preview: Preview the source file in the list box through the playback window in the upper right corner.
3.3 Transform: Click the Start button in the bottom right corner to change it into Stop, which indicates that all the video source files in the list box are being transformed. The current file and the total progress are displayed at the bottom center of the interface. You can click the Stop button again to stop transforming.
3.4 Delete files: Delete the highlighted files in the current list box.
3.5 Select all: Select all the files in the list box.
3.6 Output setting: Click the Setting button to show an Output Setting box, which is used to set parameters.
3.6.1 The Edit button can only be used to set the files of a certain transformation type in the list box, and it will show the following setting box.
