DEFINITIONS - SAFETY GUIDELINES
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, will result in death or serious injury. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. Used without the safety alert symbol indicates potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in property
damage.
General Safety Rules
Read all instructions.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term “power tool” in all of the warnings listed below refers to your hand operated (corded) power tool.
Environmental
Do not throw electric power tools into the household waste! Separate collection of used products and packaging allows materials to be
recycled. Use of recycled materials helps prevent environmental pollution and reduces the demand for raw materials.
In accordance with the European Directive 2002/96/EG on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and transposition into national law, used electric power tools must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner
EC – Declaration of conformity
G110/G220 Meguiar’s declares that this power tool has been designed in compliance with: 98/37/EEC, 89/336/EEC, 72/23/EEC, EN 50144, EN 55014-2, EN 55014, EN-61000-3-2 & EN 61000-3-3.
Intended Use
The Dual-Action Polisher is intended for use as a paint polisher for automotive, marine & RV vehicles. This machine is NOT intended for sanding or grinding purposes.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lighted. Cluttered or dark
areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes. Power tools should be used in a well ventilated area.
c) Keep children or bystanders away while operating a
power tool. Distractions can cause loss of control.

2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Check power source voltage to ensure correct electrical voltage before plugging in power tools. Model G110 should only be used with 110V power sources, while models G220 and G220EU should only be used with 220V - 240V power sources.
c) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
d) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
e) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged
or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding-type plugs and 3-pole receptacles that accept the tool’s plug.
f) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. If an extension cord is to be used outdoors, it must be marked with the suffix W-A or W following the cord type designation. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. The following table shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.
Minimum Gauge for Cord Sets
Volts Total Length of Cord in Feet
1 2 0 V 0 - 2 5 2 6 - 5 0 5 1 - 1 0 0 1 0 1 - 1 5 0
Ampere Rating Gauge of wire in AWG units
From 0 to 6 amps 18 16 16 14
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
2
Page 4
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Avoid accidental starting. Be sure the switch is in the off-position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning on the power tool. A wrench or a key attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.
Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught
in moving parts. Air vents often cover moving parts and should also be avoided.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Promptly conduct all routine and required maintenance of your power tool. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in
accordance with these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces whenever performing an operation where the tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make
exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and may result in electric shock to the operator.
Accessories must be rated for at least the speed recommended on the tool warning label. Wheels and other
accessories running over rated speed can fly apart and cause injury.
Always disconnect the polisher cord plug from the power circuit before changing pads. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
Always maintain a firm grip on the polisher handles with both hands to prevent loss of control.
Do not operate the polisher without all guards and covers securely in place.
Do not operate this tool for long periods of time. Vibration caused by the operating action of this tool may cause permanent injury to fingers, hands, and arms. Use gloves to provide extra cushion, take frequent rest periods, and limit daily time of use.
Always wear proper personal hearing protection that conforms to ANSI S12.6 (S3.19) during use. Under some conditions and duration of use, noise from this product may contribute to hearing loss.
Some dust created by polishing, power sanding, sawing, grinding, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• lead from lead-based paint
• crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products
• arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber (CCA)
Risk from these exposures vary, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles. Meguiar’s Dual Action Polisher is not intended to be utilized in ways that will generate masonry or chemically-treated lumber dust or fumes.
Avoid prolonged contact with dust from power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities. Wear protective clothing and wash exposed areas with soap and water. Allowing dust to get into your mouth or eyes, or lay on the skin, may promote absorption of harmful chemicals.
CAUTION:

Apply product sparingly directly to the pad in an “X” pattern (Fig. 6). Work on completely cool surface and in shade.
When using a cleaner or polish, apply to one panel at a time and remove the product – do not allow to dry.
When applying a wax / paint protection, apply to entire car, let product dry to a haze, then remove.
Mark each pad to avoid mixing products applied to previously used pads.
Hold machine so that the pad is facing up. While applying light pressure using your index and middle finger inside a clean towel (Fig. 7), turn machine on to clean product out of the pad. The pad should be cleaned at the end of the job while pad is still moist with product. For best results clean pad prior to storing. Also, clean pad again at the start of the next usage while pad is still dry.
DIRECTIONS: Wash and dry your car completely. Pull vehicle into covered
area. Evaluate the surface to determine which products are necessary. Choose the correct product. Apply product to pad, place machine on surface, turn machine on and begin applying product. (Do not turn machine on until it is on the surface!) Work product evenly and thoroughly into surface. Re-apply product sparingly to pad as needed. Remove product with a clean, dry, high quality cotton terry cloth or microfiber towel by hand.
