An important part of your follow-up care includes checking your device and lead(s). A Remote Control session is an office visit where a technical expert analyzes how your device is working with your heart. Your care provider will be in the room with you and the technical expert will be connected to you and your care provider via the telephone. As part of an office visit, your doctor or another clinician may prescribe that these device setting changes be made to your device in a Remote Control session. These prescribed changes will then be made by the technical expert to your device through the Remote Control system.
During any follow-up session, you may experience symptoms. Since the technical expert cannot see you during the session it’s important that you communicate if you are not feeling well. Talk with your doctor to learn more about the risks and benefits of a Remote Control follow-up session.
