QUICK START GUIDE

Setup in 10 easy steps

1. Place the NIM® 3.0 System within the surgeon’s view and away

from the electrocautery unit.

2. Do not use long-term paralyzing anesthetics to ensure proper
EMG monitoring.

3. Prep skin and place electrodes. Place Ground above Stim
Return in sternum. See diagrams below.

4. Connect electrodes to Patient Interface. Avoid entwining anode
return (white) with other electrodes. Attach Patient Interface to the
corresponding NIM® console.

5. Plug power cord into dedicated outlet and turn on unit.

6. Clip Muting Detector to monopolar electrocautery cord(s). Do not

include grounding pad or bipolar cord(s). Plug into MUTE input on
back of console.

7. Choose procedure or surgeon settings in Setup mode.

8. Review settings, place electrodes, and check electrode impedance and

dierence. Reposition electrodes if necessary.

9. Begin monitoring.

10. Connect the desired Stimulating Probe to the black (-) active STIM 1 or

STIM 2 jack of the Patient Interface.
