Aux fins du présent manuel, les Endoscopes du système METRx® sont désignés collectivement par le terme « Endoscope(s) ».

Le mode d’emploi des Endoscopes du système METRx® contient des instructions spécifiques. Il est donc conseillé au chirurgien d’utiliser la
méthode la plus adaptée au patient et ce, à sa seule discrétion. Il est recommandé de suivre les présentes instructions pour que le dispositif
fonctionne correctement. Ce matériel n’est pas destiné à servir de référence lors d’un examen ou d’une chirurgie endoscopique, ni à se
substituer à une formation, notamment un enseignement spécialisé adapté.

1. MONTAGE

Vous trouverez ci-dessous la procédure de montage mécanique des Endoscopes. Placez les adaptateurs adéquats sur le diffuseur de
lumière à fibre optique de l’Endoscope et sur l’extrémité du guide de lumière de l’instrument. Les câbles du diffuseur de lumière peuvent
être lubrifiés au besoin, en prenant soin de retirer tout excès de lubrifiant, le cas échéant. Assurez-vous que la surface de la fibre optique
ne contient aucun corps étranger.

Montage de l’adaptateur sur le diffuseur de lumière :

Les adaptateurs s’adaptent à la plupart des guides de lumière. Vissez ou dévissez simplement l’adaptateur adéquat sur le diffuseur de
lumière à fibre optique afin de préparer le couplage de l’Endoscope au guide de lumière.

2. NETTOYAGE

L’Endoscope dispose de trois surfaces optiques qui doivent être nettoyées et contrôlées régulièrement afin de s’assurer de la bonne
transmission de l’éclairage et de la haute qualité de l’image.

Le système de verrouillage de l’endoscope doit être dépourvu de débris pour que le verrouillage des composants soit robuste. Utilisez une
brosse en nylon à poils souples et de l’eau chaude savonneuse pour nettoyer ces composants.

3. STÉRILISATION

Important : assurez-vous que l’Endoscope est parfaitement nettoyé avant de le stériliser.

Les Endoscopes doivent être stérilisés ou désinfectés dans un conteneur qui fixe les instruments en position. Assurez-vous qu’aucune force
ni aucune contrainte susceptible de détruire l’optique interne n’est appliquée sur la partie avec aiguille.

3.1. STÉRILISATION AU GAZ

Suivez la procédure standard de votre hôpital pour procéder à une stérilisation au gaz. Séparez les Endoscopes des autres instruments et
placez-les dans un conteneur approuvé pour l’usage général dans le cadre d’une stérilisation au gaz (tel qu’un plateau métallique perforé)
; de la gaze ou des bouts de chiffon lâches doivent être enroulés autour de chaque élément, stabilisé pour éviter tout mouvement.

Le cycle de stérilisation à l’oxyde d’éthylène/Oxyfume 2002 (10:90) suivant est validé :

PURPOSE

The autoclavable Endoscopes are identified by the word ‘AUTOCLAVABLE’ on the instrument

The Endoscopes will be sold as non-sterile, reusable instruments.

For the purpose of this manual, METRx® System Endoscopes are referred collectively as Scopes or Endoscopes.

Les performances optiques et la durée de vie des Endoscopes qui ne sont pas nettoyés correctement avant la stérilisation en autoclave
sont réduites.

Placez l’Endoscope propre sur un plateau de stérilisation adapté. Un plateau adapté doit maintenir l’Endoscope fermement, mais en douceur.
L’Endoscope ne doit, en aucun cas, entrer en contact avec le plateau métallique. Cela entraînerait un transfert direct de chaleur du plateau
à l’instrument, ce qui pourrait endommager ce dernier.

Remarque : pour éviter que l’image ne soit brouillée ou floue, laissez l’Endoscope à température ambiante avant de l’utiliser.

3.2.1 STÉRILISATION À LA VAPEUR SOUS PRESSION

Suivez la procédure standard de votre hôpital pour procéder à une stérilisation à la vapeur sous pression (sous double épaisseur de mousseline)
à une température comprise entre 132 ºC et 135 ºC (entre 270 ºF et 275 ºF) pendant 10 minutes.

REMARQUE : la note suivante s’applique au paramètre identifié ci-après par ** : En dehors des États-Unis, certaines
autorités sanitaires non américaines recommandent une stérilisation conforme à ces paramètres afin de limiter le risque de transmission
potentiel de la maladie de Creutzfeldt-Jakob, en particulier pour les instruments chirurgicaux susceptibles d’entrer en contact avec le
système nerveux central.

Température : 134 ºC (273 ºF)
Durée d’exposition : 18 minutes

3.2.2. STÉRILISATION PRÉASPIRATION

Suivez la procédure standard de votre hôpital pour procéder à une stérilisation à la vapeur pré-aspiration (sous double épaisseur de
mousseline) à une température comprise entre 132 ºC et 135 ºC (entre 270 ºF et 275 ºF) pendant 4 minutes.

Le non-respect de ces procédures pourrait entraîner la destruction de l’Endoscope et l’annulation de la garantie.

Une fois la stérilisation terminée, l’Endoscope doit être refroidi lentement à température ambiante dans l’autoclave.

AT TENTION : NE PLONGEZ PAS OU NE RINCEZ PAS LES INSTRUMENTS DANS DE L’EAU FROIDE OU DANS TOUT AUTRE LIQUIDE POUR
ACCÉLÉRER LEUR REFROIDISSEMENT.

Remarque : ces paramètres ont été validés pour garantir la stérilité des instruments. Le stérilisateur doit faire l’objet de contrôles à intervalles
réguliers à l’aide d’indicateurs biologiques pour s’assurer que les produits ont bien été stérilisés.

4. SÉCURITÉ ÉLECTRIQUE

Les Endoscopes sont principalement composés de matériaux métalliques. Le niveau d’isolation électrique est défini par le fabricant de
l’ensemble des équipements utilisés avec les Endoscopes et les accessoires du système METRx®.

5. STOCKAGE

a. Lors du stockage de l’Endoscope du METRx®, l’extrémité en plastique doit recouvrir l’extrémité de traitement avant. La protection de la

partie la plus fragile préserve l’optique.

b. L’Endoscope et ses accessoires doivent être stockés dans leur emballage d’expédition ou sur un plateau de stérilisation. Quelle que soit

la méthode choisie, vous devez vous assurer que l’Endoscope reste immobile pour éviter qu’il ne subisse des dommages.
