PRODUCT INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
DEVICE DESC RIPTI ON
e Monopolar Ball-Tip Stimulating Probe is connected to a 2 meter lead ending with a connector. e uoroplastic
insulation of the medical stainless steel wire terminates ush with the tip of the wire. is construction facilitates direct
nerve stimulation while minimizing cerebrospinal uid shunting of the electrical stimulus. e nal 20 mm of the probe can
easily be bent to provide optimal contact between the probe tip and nerve within the connes of the surgical eld.

is device is intended for use as an intraoperative motor nerve stimulator with the Medtronic Xomed Nerve Integrity
Monitor (NIM®) or other EMG monitors.
INDIC ATIONS
is device is indicated for use for intraoperative motor nerve location.
CONTRA INDIC ATIONS
None known.
CAUTIO NS
• DO NOT RESTERILIZE. Resterilization can damage the tip insulation of the probe.
• To ensure delivery of current to intended tissues, use only with EMG monitor(s) equipped with active audio and/or visual
current delivered feedback systems.
DIREC TION S FOR USE
1. Insert the large end of the probe into the handle assembly. Insert rmly to prevent the probe from dislodging and falling
from the handle during the procedure.
2. Plug the connector end of the handle assembly into the cathode (-) connection on the NIM® Patient Interface, or other
EMG monitor patient interface.
3. Place a subdermal EMG needle electrode (not included) in the desired location to serve as the ground, or anode (+) for
the stimulator.
4. Verify prior to surgical use that the probe delivers current at the intended setting as evidenced by the EMG monitor’s
audio and/or visual current delivered feedback system.
