1 Device description

The Medtronic Model 53922 Disposable Cover is an optional protective covering that is designed to cover the Medtronic Model 5392 Temporary Pacemaker. It is intended to reduce the potential of the following from occurring:
Inadvertent adjustments of pacing parameters.
Inadvertent pressing of the DOO/Emergency key
Ingress of soil, blood, or body fluid under the dials or between the case seam
Unintentional opening of the battery drawer

2 Warning

Do not modify this equipment. Modifications may reduce system effectiveness and impact patient health.

3 Precaution

Observe safe handling practices even when the cover is used. Use the temporary pacemaker only according to the instructions in the labeling.

5Use

To secure the disposable cover onto the temporary pacemaker, do the following:
1. Hook the disposable cover onto temporary pacemaker.
2. Snap the disposable cover in place.

3. Verify that the disposable cover is latched.

6 Removal

To remove the disposable cover from the temporary pacemaker, do the following:
1. Hook your fingers under the tab of the disposable cover, use your thumb for leverage, and lift tab of the disposable cover.
2. Remove the disposable cover.

7 Disposal

The disposable cover is intended for single use for one patient. Dispose of it according to local regulations after one use with one patient.
