1 Electromagnetic Compatibility Declaration
The CareLink Express monitor should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or
stacked use is necessary, the CareLink Express monitor should be observed to verify normal operation in the
configuration in which it will be used.
Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect the CareLink Express monitor.
The CareLink Express monitor contains RF transmission and receiving capabilities. Consequently, it is
possible that other equipment may interfere with the CareLink Express monitor even if that other equipment
complies with CISPR emission requirements. The following is a technical summary of the RF communication
properties:
Transmitting and receiving at 175 kHz:
■
Receiving bandwidth of the CareLink Express monitor: NA - NOTE 1
■
Modulation characteristics (2020B): Transmit using BFSK, receive using BPSK.
■
Modulation characteristics (2020C): Transmit and receive using pulsed AM (OOK).
■
Field strength (2020B): -2,5 dBuA/m at 10 meters - NOTE 2
■
Field strength (2020C): 11,5 dBuA/m at 10 meters - NOTE 2
NOTE 1 Receiver detects switching magnetic fields and thus has the capability to respond to any frequency
in the LF (Low Frequency) area as long as the incidence angle is correct.
NOTE 2 Effective radiated power has been expressed as field strength given that it has been the regulated
parameter measured for this frequency.
Guidance and manufacturer’s declaration – electromagnetic emissions
The CareLink Express monitor is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment specified
below. The customer or the user of the CareLink Express monitor should assure that it is used in
such an environment.
