Spülung entfernen. Aus dem Auff angbeutel können vor Entsorgu ng des gesamten Systems

LIMITED WARRANTY
A. is LIMITED WARRANTY provides assurance for the customer who purchases a Medtronic
Xomed Product (hereinaer the “Product”) that should the Product fail to function to Medtronic
Xomed’s published specications during the term of this LIMITED WARRANT Y (one year from the
date of shipment for new Product, 90 days from date of shipment for refurbished or used Product),
Medtronic Xomed will either replace, repair, or issue a credit (adjusted to ree ct the age of the
Product) for the Product or any portion thereof. is LIMITED WARRANTY is extended only to the
buyer purchasing the Product directly from Medtronic Xomed or from its aliate or its authorized
distributor or representative.
B. To qualify for this LIMITED WARRANTY, the following conditions must be met:
(1) e Product must be used on or before its “Use By” or “Use Before” date, if applicable.
(2) e Product must be used in accordance with its labeling and may not be altered or subj ected to
misuse, abuse, accident or improper handling.
(3) Medtronic Xomed must be notied in writing within thirty (30) days following discovery of a
defect.
(4) e Product must be returned to Medtronic Xomed within thirty (30) days of Medtronic Xomed
receiving notice as provided for in (3) above.
(5) Upon examination of the Product by Medtronic Xomed, Medtronic Xomed shall have determined
that: (i) t he Product was not repaired or altered by anyone other than Medtronic Xomed or its
authorized representative, (ii) the Product was not operated under conditions other than normal
use, and (iii) the prescribed periodic maintenance and ser vices have been p erformed on the
Product.
C. is LIMITED WARRANTY is limited to its express terms. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN
LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WHETHER STATUTORY
OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. In no event shall Medtronic Xomed be liable for any
consequential, incidental, prospective or other similar damage resulting from a defect, failure, or
malfunction of the Product, whether a claim for such damage is based upon the warranty, contract,

F.A. C.S. , for inform ationa l pur pose s only. Ea ch phy sici an mus t eva luate th e
appropriaten ess of th is proc edure b ased on his/ her own m edical tr aining and
exp erie nce and th e ne eds of the patient.
1. Place the procedure apron about the pat ient’s shoulders and tie in back .
2. Remove the backing of the adhesive strip on the receptacle bag and ad here it to the
front of the apron close to the patient’s neck.
3. Adminis ter the appropriate anes thesi a a nd i nsert the troc ar/can nula into the
maxilla ry antrum via the inferior meatal or ca nine fossa puncture. ose using the
cani ne fossa punctu re technique will nd that the handle ts com fortably in the
palm of the hand wit h the length of the t rocar providing excellent tip control with
the forenger. e t rocar is ea sily dril led into the sinus by rotating the ha ndle back
and for th when using the canine fossa approach. A mallet is usually not nece ssar y.
Slight resistance is usually felt when the ca nnula portion of the unit enters the sinus.
e trocar is then removed and the cannula is held in position.
4. Fill the trough wit h sterile sa line solution.
5. Draw sa line solution into syringe/tubing and remove any air present; connect syringe/
tubing to c annula. For added safet y, the exible extension tube can be attached to the
luer tip of t he syringe during this step.
6. Instruct t he patient to hold t he outside edge of the collection bag away from his/
her chest to form a trough . Irr igate the a ntrum. Remove cannula upon completion
of irrigation. Cultures may be ta ken from collection bag prior to disposal of t he
entire system.

MOD E D’E MPLO I

Nelson C. Gol dman, do cteur en médecin e, F.A.C .S. Chaque m édecin d oit év aluer
sa p ertinen ce e n fo nction de sa p ropre e xpéri ence e t de s a form ati on m édicale ,
ain si qu e des b esoi ns du patient .
1. Placez la cape de protection autour du cou blouse protectrice autou r des épaules du
patient et attachez-la par derrière.
2. Retirez la pel licule de la bande adhésive du sac de récupérat ion et collez-le sur le
devant de la capeblouse, près du cou du patient.
3. Administrez l’anesthésiant approprié et insérez le troca rt/la canule dans le sinu s
maxilla ire par la ponction méatique inférieure ou par celle de la fosse ca nine. Les
personnes utilisa nt la technique de la ponction de la fosse canine s’apercev ront
que la poignée repose bien da ns la paume de la main et que la long ueur du trocar t
permet de contrôler l’extrémité avec précision à l ’a ide de l’index. Le t rocart s’insère
facilement dans le sinus. Il sut pour cela de fai re tourner la poignée d ’av ant en
arr ière pour la t echnique de la fosse canine. L’util isation d’un mai llet n’est, en
général, pas nécessaire. Une légère résistance se fait souvent sentir lorsque la par tie
canule du dispositif pénètre dans le sinus. Il conv ient ensu ite de retirer le troca rt et
de maintenir la c anule en place.
4. Remplissez le récipient de solution sa line stérile.
5. Remplissez la seringue/la tubulure de solution saline et éliminezr tout l’air s’y trouvant
; reliez la seri ngue/la tubulure à la canule. Pour ga rantir une sécur ité maximum, la
rallonge de tubu lure exible peut être attachée à l’embout Luer de la seringue à ce
moment là.
6. Demandez au patient de mainteni r le coin exter ne du sac de récupérat ion loin de
sa poitrine a n de former un creux. Irriguez le sinus. Retirez la canule une fois
l’i rrigation terminée. Des cultures peuvent être prélevées da ns le sac de récupération
avant de mettre le système tout entier au rebut.

1. Sistemare il telo sul le spalle del pa ziente e legarlo su lla schiena.
2. Rimuovere la protezione adesiva della sacca di raccolta e farla aderire a l davanti del
telo, vicino al collo del pa ziente.
3. Somminis trare l’anestesia e inserire il trequarti e la cannula nell’antro mascellare
tramite la puntur a del meato inferiore o della fossa canina. Coloro che usano la
tecnic a della puntura della fossa canina noteranno che l’impugnat ura può essere
tenuta comodamente nel palmo della mano e che il trequar ti può essere controllato
in modo ecce llente con il dito indic e. C on questo metodo, il trequar ti perfora
facil mente il seno media nte la rotazione alternata dell’ impugnatura. Norma lmente
non è necessa rio l’uso di un martel lo. Di sol ito si avverte u na leggera resistenza
quando la cannula dell’unità penet ra nel seno. Il trequarti viene quindi rimosso e la
cannula rimane in posizione.
