laut Gebrauchsanweisung.

• Im Falle von Störungen reparieren Sie das Gerät nicht selbst.
Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur von autorisierten Servicestellen
durchführen.

• Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren und darüber sowie
von Personen mit verringerten physischen, sensorischen oder
mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und Wissen
benutzt werden, wenn Sie beaufsichtigt oder bezüglich des
sicheren Gebrauchs des Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und die
daraus resultierenden Gefahren verstehen.

• Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

• Reinigung und Benutzer-Wartung dürfen nicht von Kindern
ohne Beaufsichtigung durchgeführt werden.

• Halten Sie niemals das gesamte Gerät noch die Vernebler­kammer zum Reinigen unter fließendes Wasser. Achten Sie
darauf, dass in das Geräteinnere kein Wasser eindringt.

• Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht draußen oder in feuchter Umgebung
stehen. Das Gerät ist nicht wasserdicht.

• Wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht benutzen, entnehmen Sie
die Batterien, um ein Auslaufen zu verhindern.

• Bevor Sie eine Therapie mit dem Gerät beginnen, besprechen
Sie mit Ihrem Arzt Anwendungsdauer, Dosierung und Anwen­dungshäufigkeit.

• Der Vernebler ist nicht für die Verwendung in Anästhesie-

Atemsystemen oder für Lungenbeatmungssysteme geeignet.

• Im Falle eines Diabetes oder anderer Erkrankungen sollten Sie
vor der Anwendung des Gerätes Rücksprache mit Ihrem Haus­arzt halten.

• Die Behandlung sollte angenehm sein. Spüren Sie Schmerzen

Mit dem Ultraschall-Inhalationsgerät USC haben Sie ein Qualitäts­produkt von MEDISANA erworben. Damit Sie den gewünschten
Erfolg erzielen und recht lange Freude an Ihrem MEDISANA
Inhalationsgerät USC haben, empfehlen wir Ihnen, die nachste­henden Hinweise zum Ge brauch und zur Pflege sorgfältig zu lesen.

Bitte prüfen Sie zunächst, ob das Gerät vollständig ist und
keinerlei Beschädigung aufweist. Im Zweifelsfalle nehmen Sie das
Gerät nicht in Betrieb und wenden Sie sich an Ihren Händler oder
an Ihre Servicestelle. Zum Lieferumfang gehören:

• 1 Inhalationsgerät USC mit • 1 Erwachsenenmaske

Verneblereinheit, Wirkstoff- • 1 Kindermaske
tank und Abdeckung • 4 Batterien 1,5 V, LR6 AA

• 1 Mundstück • 1 Aufbewahrungstasche

Verpackungen sind wiederverwendbar oder können dem Roh­stoffkreislauf zurückgeführt werden. Bitte entsorgen Sie nicht
mehr benötigtes Verpackungsmaterial ordnungsgemäß. Sollten
Sie beim Auspacken einen Transportschaden bemerken, setzen
Sie sich bitte sofort mit Ihrem Händler in Verbindung.

Erkrankungen der Atemwege oder der Lunge sind häufig
langwierig, schmerzhaft und lebenseinschränkend. Rechtzeitige,
effektive Therapien wie beispielsweise die Inhalationstherapie mit
Aerosolen können hierbei unterstützen und helfen.
Als Aerosol wird ein Gas + Teilchen-Gemisch bezeichnet; ein
Beispiel hierfür, das in der Natur auftritt, ist der Nebel. Bei der
Aerosoltherapie werden Medikamente in eine "luftgetragene"
Form (z.B. vernebelt) gebracht und eingeatmet. Der große Vorteil
dieser Therapie (im Gegensatz zu z.B.Tabletteneinnahme) besteht
darin, dass die Medikamente direkt dort verabreicht werden, wo
sie wirken sollen (über den Mund-Nase-Rachenraum in die
Lunge), ohne andere Organe zu durchlaufen:

1. Die Wirkung erfolgt spürbar schnell.

2. Es entstehen keine (nennenswerten) Wirkungen bzw. Neben-

wirkungen an anderen Organen.

3. Der Medikamenten-Einsatz ist gering.

Präparaten

Ultraschall-Technik

Beim Ultraschall-Vernebler wird durch Schwingungen eines piezo­elektrischen Kristalls ein Aerosol erzeugt.
Es wird also elektrische Energie in mechanische Schwingungen
verwandelt, durch die Tröpfchen gebildet werden. Der optimale
Durchmesser der Tröpfchen beträgt 1 - 5 µm (laut “Richtlinien für
die Aerosoltherapie von Lungenerkrankungen”, Lungenliga
Schweiz). Nur bei kleinem Durchmesser können die Tröpfchen in
die engen Verzweigungen der oberen und unteren Luftwege
vordringen und so das Medikament dorthin transportieren und
deponieren, wo es wirken soll.

Inhalat

HINWEISE

• Bevor Sie ein Medikament oder Präparat verwen­den, klären Sie mit Ihrem Arzt ab, ob es auch für
Sie geeignet ist, oder verwenden Sie nur die
Medikamente/Präparate, die von Ihrem Arzt
verordnet wurden.

• Das Medisana Ultraschall-Inhalationsgerät USC
ist geeignet zur Inhalation aller gängigen
Aerosolpräparate, mit Ausnahme von

- Suspensionen (Medikamentencocktail)

- Lösungen mit hoher Viskosität

- ätherischen Ölen

• Verwenden Sie keine ätherischen Öle, da dies zu
Schäden an der Verneblermembran führen kann!

• Verwenden Sie nur wasserlösliche Präparate/
Medikamente oder solche, die auf einer Alkoholbasis
hergestellt sind.

• Verwenden Sie zum Verdünnen des Inhalats nur
isotonische Kochsalzlösung, da sonst unter
Umständen Bronchospasmen ausgelöst werden
können.

• Verwenden Sie kein Inhalat auf Oelbasis.

• Nach der Inhalation von salzhaltigen Lösungen
müssen Sie das Gerät unbedingt, wie unter Punkt 4.2
( Reinigung und Pflege) beschrieben, spülen und
reinigen.

2 Wissenswertes / 3 Anwendung

Zubehör

Eine Kombination mit anderen Geräten ist nicht vorgesehen.
Verwenden Sie zu diesem Gerät ausschließlich das Original­Zubehör, nur dann ist eine sichere Funktion gewährleistet.
Verwenden Sie je Benutzerin oder Benutzer einen eigenen Zube­hörsatz, um gegenseitige Ansteckung oder Übertragung von
schädlichen Stoffen zu vermeiden.

Auslaufsicherheit

Beim Einfüllen des Inhalats in den Wirkstofftank
darauf, diesen nur bis zur maximalen Markierung (8 ml) zu füllen.
Die empfohlene Füllungsmenge liegt zwischen 2 und 8 ml.
Während der Inhalationstherapie können Sie das Gerät bis zu
einem Winkel von maximal 45 ° nach vorne, hinten oder seitlich
kippen, ohne die Vernebelung und damit den Behandlungserfolg
zu beeinträchtigen.
Das MEDISANA USC ist auslaufsicher. Trotzdem sollten Sie das
Gerät nicht schütteln, wenn der Wirkstofftank gefüllt ist; dadurch
könnte Flüssigkeit in die Elektronik gelangen und das Gerät
zerstören.

Automatische Abschaltung

Das Gerät verfügt über eine automatische Abschaltung. Wenn
das Inhalat bis auf eine äußerst geringe Restmenge verbraucht ist
und sich kaum oder keine Flüssigkeit im Wirkstofftank befindet,
schaltet sich das Gerät nach kurzer Zeit von selbst aus.
Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn der Wirkstofftank

Montage

Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach an der Geräteunterseite mit einem
leichten Druck, unter gleichzeitigem Zug, auf das Pfeilsymbol.
Legen Sie die vier mitgelieferten Batterien (Typ AA LR6) ein.
Achten Sie auf die Liegerichtung der Batterien (Abbildung am
Gehäuseboden). Setzen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel wieder auf
und drücken Sie ihn an.
Leuchtet bei eingeschaltetem Gerät die orange Batterieanzeige

WARNUNG
BATTERIE-SICHERHEITSHINWEISE

• Batterien nicht auseinandernehmen!

• Erschöpfte Batterien umgehend aus dem Gerät
entfernen!

• Erhöhte Auslaufgefahr, Kontakt mit Haut, Augen
und Schleimhäuten vermeiden! Bei Kontakt mit
Batteriesäure die betroffenen Stellen sofort mit
reichlich klarem Wasser spülen und umgehend
einen Arzt aufsuchen!

• Sollte eine Batterie verschluckt worden sein, ist
sofort ein Arzt aufzusuchen!

• Immer alle Batterien gleichzeitig austauschen!

• Nur Batterien des gleichen Typs einsetzen, keine
unterschiedlichen Typen oder gebrauchte und neue
Batterien miteinander verwenden!

• Legen Sie Batterien korrekt ein, beachten Sie die
Polarität!

• Batterien bei längerer Nichtverwendung aus dem
Gerät entfernen!

• Batterien von Kindern fernhalten!

• Batterien nicht wiederaufladen! Es besteht
Explosionsgefahr!

• Nicht kurzschließen! Es besteht Explosionsgefahr!

• Nicht ins Feuer werfen! Es besteht Explosionsgefahr!

• Werfen Sie verbrauchte Batterien und Akkus nicht in

Mit neuen Alkaline-Batterien können Sie das Gerät ca. 100

In der Regel beträgt eine Inhalationsphase mit dem MEDISANA

HINWEIS

über die Länge, Dosierung und Häufigkeit der
Anwendung. Je nach Therapieziel (z.B. Behandlung der
Lunge = Mundstück-Anwendung oder Behandlung des
Nasen-Rachen-Raumes = Masken-Anwendung) sollte
die Anwendungsart gewählt werden. Beraten Sie sich

Verwenden Sie nur wasserlösliche Präparate/Medikamente oder
solche, die auf Alkoholbasis hergestellt sind. Alle gängigen
Inhalationslösungen für Ultraschall-Inhalationsgeräte können
verwendet werden. Häufig wird eine Salzlösung empfohlen.
Benutzen Sie keine Inhalate, die auf Ölbasis hergestellt sind.
Fragen Sie Ihren Arzt, welches Präparat für Sie geeignet ist.
Ausführlichere Informationen erhalten Sie auch in Fachbüchern
zum Thema "Aerosol", "Inhalation" oder "Atemtherapie", sowie
bei Arbeitsgemeinschaften und Verbänden oder bei Ihrem Arzt.

1. Setzen Sie sich in eine möglichst aufrechte Position.

nicht notwendig. Wichtig ist, dass Sie ruhig und entspannt
bleiben, während Sie gleichmäßig ein- und ausatmen.
Inhalieren Sie nicht zu schnell. Wenn Sie eine Pause machen
möchten, unterbrechen Sie kurz und nehmen das Mundstück
aus dem Mund. Nehmen Sie es erneut in den Mund (Lippen
umschließen es dicht) und atmen Sie wieder langsam ein und
aus.

Sie sollten das Gerät möglichst senkrecht halten. Eine

geringe Schräglage beeinflusst die Anwendung jedoch
nicht (auslaufsicher). Für eine volle Funktionsfähigkeit
achten Sie bei der Inhalation darauf, dass Sie das Gerät
nicht weiter als 45° je Richtung kippen.

Mit der Aufbewahrungstasche zum MEDISANA USC haben Sie
auch unterwegs Ihren Ultraschall-Inhalator stets sicher und sauber
aufbewahrt dabei. Aufgrund seiner geringen Geräuschentwick­lung können Sie den Inhalator problemlos einsetzen, ohne dass es
die Umgebung stört. Besonders bei der Behandlung von Kindern
wurde festgestellt, dass die geräuscharme Funktion zu einer
höheren Akzeptanz der Anwendung geführt hat, da sie diese als
weniger störend und weniger ängstigend empfunden haben.

HINWEIS
Sollten Sie in einem Haushalt mehrere Inhalations-

Benutzerinnen und -Benutzer haben und somit mehrere
Zubehörsätze, empfehlen wir Ihnen, diese z.B. mit
einem wasserfesten Stift eindeutig zu kennzeichnen,
um einer Verwechslung vorzubeugen.

Führen Sie die Reingungsmaßnahmen sorgfältig

und direkt nach jeder Anwendung wie nachfolgend
beschrieben durch.

• Entfernen Sie die Batterien, bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen.

• Nehmen Sie Ansatzteile, Abdeckung, Wirkstofftank mit Ver­neblereinheit vom Gerät.

• Halten Sie niemals das montierte Gerät oder die Grundeinheit
zum Reinigen unter fließendes Wasser.

• Das Gehäuse des Gerätes reinigen Sie mit einem leicht feuchten
Tuch, das Sie mit einer milden Seifenlauge tränken.

• Reinigen Sie die benutzten Ansatzteile (Mundstück, Maske,
Verbindungsstück) unter fließendem Wasser.

• Trennen Sie nun die Verneblereinheit vom Wirkstofftank. Hierzu
drehen Sie die Verneblereinheit gegen den Uhrzeigersinn und
ziehen sie vom Tankansatz. Reinigen Sie beide Teile mit
frischem Wasser.

• Lassen Sie alle Teile separat und offen auf einem Tuch 4-5
Stunden vollständig trocknen. Die Verneblereinheit nach der
Reinigung einige Male schütteln, um Wassertropfen aus dem
Sieb zu entfernen.

• Diese Reinigung sollten Sie auch durchführen, wenn das Gerät

längere Zeit nicht benutzt wurde und vor der allerersten An­wendung.

• Bei infektiösen Erkrankungen müssen Sie alle Ansatzteile des

Gerätes jeden Tag einmal desinfizieren. Dabei ist die Verwen­dung von Alkohol oder handelsüblichen alkoholischen Sprüh­desinfektionsmitteln möglich. Achten Sie darauf, dass keine
Reste des Desinfektionsmittels an den Ansatzteilen verbleiben,
um die nächste Inhalationsanwendung nicht zu gefährden.

• Sie können die Desinfektion auch in kochendem Wasser oder

im Dampfsterilisator (Anleitung des Gerätes beachten!)
durchführen. Legen Sie die abnehmbaren Teile für 15 min in
sprudelnd kochendes Wasser. Verhindern Sie (mit einem
Topfsieb o.ä.) den direkten Kontakt zum Topfboden.

• Lassen Sie die Teile 4-5 Stunden vollständig trocknen. Die

Verneblereinheit einige Male schütteln um Wassertropfen aus
dem Sieb zu entfernen.

• Nach dem Inhalieren von salzhaltigen Lösungen können sich

Reste der Flüssigkeit im feinen Netz des Verneblers als Kristalle
ablagern und ggf. das Netz beschädigen. Um dies zu verhin­dern, empfehlen wir dringend, das Gerät kurz, d.h. ca. 1 Min.,
mit klarem Wasser zu betreiben und damit die Salzlösung aus­zuspülen.

• Sollte die Intensität nach Verwendung mineralstoffhaltiger

Salzlösungen nachlassen, muss das Gerät entkalkt werden.
Geben Sie 1 Tropfen Essig auf einen Teelöffel Wasser und füllen
Sie die Mischung in den Wirkstofftank. Schalten Sie das Gerät
für ca. 3 Minuten ein. Danach verbliebene Flüssigkeit aus­gießen, Tank und Verneblereinheit abnehmen und gründlich
mit frischem Wasser nachspülen.

• Achten Sie immer darauf, dass Verneblereinheit und Wirkstoff-

tank gut durchgetrocknet sind.

• Falls sich Reste von medizinischen Lösungen oder Verunreini-

gungen an den goldfarbenen Kontakten von Gerät und Ver­neblereinheit befinden, verwenden Sie zur Reinigung ein in
Äthylalkohol getauchtes Wattestäbchen.

Kaufquittung bei.

Often, diseases of the respiratory system or the lung are lengthy,
painful and life restricting. Timely, effective therapies such as
inhalation therapy with aerosols can be of great help and
assistance.
A gas + particle mixture is defined as an aerosol; mist is an
example of a natural aerosol. Aerosol therapy delivers medicines
in an "air transported" form (e.g. nebulized) which are inhaled.
The great advantage of this therapy (unlike taking tablets for
example) is that the medicines are administered at the precise
point where they will have greatest effect (via the oro-nasal­pharyngeal cavity into the lung) without passing through other
organs:

Ultrasound technology

An aerosol is generated in the ultrasonic nebulizer due to the
vibrations of a piezoelectric crystal.
Thus, electric energy is transformed into mechanical oscillations
which create droplets. The optimum diameter of the droplets is
1 - 5 µm (according to "Guidelines for the aerosol therapy of lung
diseases", Lungenliga Schweiz). The droplets can only penetrate
into the narrow branches of the upper and lower airways if they
have a small diameter thus transporting and depositing the
medicine where it is intended to be most effective.

Inhalant

NOTES

• Consult your doctor before using any medicinal
products or medicines to ensure that they are suitable
for your needs or alternatively only use the medicinal
products/medicine prescribed for you by your doctor.

• The MEDISANA USN ultrasonic inhaler is suitable for
use with all common aerosol products (aerosols) with
the exception of

- Products with solid constituents (suspensions)

- Viscous solutions (high viscosity)

- Volatile oils

• Do not use any volatile oils since this may lead to
damage to the nebulizer diaphragm.

• Use only water-soluble products/medicines or those
which have an alcohol base.

• Use only isotonic saline solution to dilute the inhalant;
otherwise bronchial spasms may occur in certain

• After using the device for salt solution inhalation, it

There is no provision for combining with other devices.
Use only the original accessories with this device since only then
can safe operation be guaranteed.
Use a separate accessory set for each user to avoid cross-infection
or the transmission of harmful substances.

Leakage safety

When pouring the inhalant into the active ingredient tank
only fill it to the maximum mark (8 ml). The recommended filling
quantity is between 2 and 8 ml.
The MEDISANA USC is leakage proof. Do not, however, shake
the device when the active ingredient tank is full; there is a
chance that liquids could get into the electronics and destroy the
device.

Open the battery compartment on the underside of the unit
by exerting slight pressure whilst sliding it simultaneously in the
direction of the arrow. Insert the four batteries (type AA LR6)
supplied. Remember to insert the batteries as indicated in the
illustration on the base of the device.. Replace the lid, pressing it
until it snaps into place.

Service life

With new alkaline batteries, the device can run for approximately
100 minutes. This is sufficient for 5 - 8 inhalation sessions with
salt solution (depending on the dosage and length of use).
As a rule, the inhalation phase using the MEDISANA USC is
8 - 10 minutes if the active ingredient tank is filled to its
maximum of 8 ml due to the ultrasound nebulizer’s high
performance. However, each inhalation session may not last more
than 15 minutes.

Before starting therapy, discuss the length, dosage

and frequency of use with your doctor. The method
of use should be appropriate to the aim of the
therapy (e.g. lung treatment = use of mouthpiece
and treatment of the nasal-pharyngeal area = use of
mask). Consult your doctor about this aspect as well.

Use only water-soluble preparations/medicines or product that are
alcohol based. All common inhalation solutions for ultrasound
inhalation devices can be used. Salt solution is often recom­mended. Do not use oil-based inhalants. Ask your doctor which
preparations are suitable for you.
More detailed information on the topics of “Aerosols”, “Inha­lation” or “Breathing Therapy” can be found in specialist books,
or obtained from study groups and associations, or from your
doctor.

Before operating for the first time or if the device has not been
used for some time, clean and disinfect the nebulizer unit as well
as the mouthpiece and mask including the connecting piece (also

Cleaning and
maintenance

The MEDISANA USC with its storage bag means you can take
your ultrasound inhaler with you safely and cleanly when
travelling. Due to its low noise level, you can easily use the inhaler
without disturbing your neighbours. Especially when treating
children, it has been noted that the low-noise function leads to a
higher level of acceptance of use since it is considered less
disturbing and frightening.

NOTE
If you have several inhaler users in one household,

and thus several accessory sets, we recommend that
they are clearly marked, e.g. with a permanent ink
pen, to prevent any mix up.

NOTE
Carry out the cleaning instructions carefully directly

after each use as described below.

• Remove the batteries before cleaning the device.

• Take the attachments, cover, active ingredient tank and
nebulizer unit off the device.

• When cleaning, do neither hold the assembled device nor die
basic unit under running water.

• Clean the device's casing with a lightly moistened cloth that has
been soaked in mild soapy water.

• You can clean the used attachments (mouthpiece, mask,
connection piece) under the tap.

• Now disconnect the nebulizer unit from the active ingredient
tank. To do this, turn the nebulizer unit anticlockwise and pull it
off the tank attachment. Clean both parts in fresh water.

• Allow all parts to dry separately and uncovered on a cloth for 4­5 hours. The nebulizer unit should be agitated several times
after rinsing to free the mesh from water drops.

• This cleaning routine should also be carried out if the device has
not been used for a longish period of time and prior to using
for the first time.

• In the case of infectious illnesses, the device must be disinfected
every day or all attachments must be sterilised. You can also use
alcohol or other common alcohol-based disinfectant sprays.
Make sure that no disinfectant residues are left behind on the
attachments to ensure safe inhalation when next used.

• You may also use boiling water or a vaporizer (see instructions
of vaporizer) to disinfect. Put the detachable parts into a pan
with boiling for about 15 minutes. Pay attention that the parts
do not come in contact with the pan bottom, e.g. by using a
sieve.

• Allow all parts to dry thoroughly for about 4 to 5 hours on a
cloth. Additionally the nebulizer unit should be agitated several
times to remove drops of water from the mesh.

• After using the device for salt solution inhalation, salt crystals
may form as a residue on the fine gauze of the atomiser, which
may damage the gauze. In order to avoid this, we recommend
you to operate the device with clean water immediately after
use (roughly 1 min), thus rinsing out the salt solution.

• If the nebulisation intensity decreases after alkaline/mineral
fluids have been used, the device must be descaled. Mix one
drop of vinegar with one teaspoon of water and place the
mixture in the active agent tank. Start the device for approx.
three minutes. Empty out any remaining fluid. Remove the
active agent tank with nebulization unit from the device and
rinse with fresh water thoroughly.

• Always make sure the nebulizer unit and active ingredient tank
are properly dried out.

• If there is medicine solution or dirt on the gold contacts
between the device and the nebulizer unit, clean them with a
cotton bud soaked in ethyl alcohol.

regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a
municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim
under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose
a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years
from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of
purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or
invoice.

2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of
charge within the warranty period.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period
either for the unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment,

Technique par ultrasons

Le principe du nébuliseur à ultrasons consiste à générer un
aérosol par les oscillations d’un cristal piézoélectrique.
Les gouttelettes sont donc obtenues par la transformation
d'énergie électrique en oscillations mécaniques. Le diamètre
optimal des particules est de 1 à 5 µm (source : "Directives pour
la thérapie par aérosols des maladies pulmonaires", Lungenliga
(Ligue du poumon) Suisse). Seul un tel diamètre permet aux
particules de pénétrer dans les étroites ramifications des voies
aériennes supérieures et inférieures et ainsi de transporter et de
déposer le médicament là où il doit agir.

Cet appareil n'est pas conçu pour être utilisé avec d'autres
appareils. Utilisez uniquement les accessoires d'origine afin de
garantir un fonctionnement en toute sécurité.

Sécurité anti-débordements

Lorsque vous versez le contenu dans le réservoir des substances

Des piles alcaline neuves permettent d’utiliser l’appareil pendant
env. 100 minutes. Cette durée est suffisante pour 5 à 8 utilisa­tions avec une solution saline (en fonction du dosage et de la
durée d’utilisation).
En règle générale, une phase d’inhalation avec l’appareil
MEDISANA USC dure 8 à 10 minutes en raison de la capacité
élevée de l’atomiseur à ultrasons, lorsque le réservoir des
substances actives contient au maximum 8 ml. Une application ne
doit cependant pas durer plus de 15 minutes au total.

Les domaines d'application des thérapies par inhalation sont
les maladies aiguës des voies respiratoires telles que par ex. :

Avant de commencer la thérapie, définissez avec votre

médecin la longueur, le dosage et la fréquence
d’utilisation. Le type d’utilisation doit être choisi en
fonction de l’objectif thérapeutique (par exemple,
traitement des poumons = utilisation de l’embout buccal
ou traitement du rhinopharynx = utilisation du masque).
Consultez toujours votre médecin.

Utilisez uniquement des médicaments/préparations solubles à
l'eau ou à base d'alcool. Vous pouvez utiliser toutes les solutions
d'inhalation courantes pour nébuliseurs ultrasoniques. Une
solution saline est généralement conseillée. N'utilisez pas de
produits à base d'huile. Consultez votre médecin qui vous indi­quera une prépa-ration appropriée.
Vous trouverez également de plus amples informations dans les
ouvrages spécialisés sur les aérosols, l’inhalation ou la thérapie
respiratoire, ainsi qu’en vous adressant à des groupes d’entraide
et des associations ou bien à votre médecin.

bouche (refermez bien vos lèvres sur l’embout) et inspirez et
expirez lentement.

Lorsque l’embout buccal a été utilisé pendant une certaine durée,
il est possible que 2 ou 3 gouttes de solvant s’accumulent dans le
tube de raccord de l’embout buccal lors de l’utilisation. Ceci n’a
cependant aucune incidence sur le fonctionnement et l’utilisation
de l’appareil. Après utilisation, éliminez ces gouttes à l’aide d’un
chiffon doux.

La pochette de rangement vous permet de transporter partout
votre inhalateur à ultrasons MEDISANA USC de manière sûre et
hygiénique. L’inhalateur est quasiment silencieux ce qui vous
permet de l’utiliser sans problème sans risquer de déranger les
personnes se trouvant à proximité. Le fonctionnement silencieux
de l'appareil favorise également l'acceptance des applications,
particulièrement chez les enfants, car celles-ci sont alors ressenties
comme étant moins dérangeantes ou angoissantes.

REMARQUE
Si dans votre ménage plusieurs personnes utilisent le

même nébuliseur, nous recommandons de marquer
les différents jeux d'accessoires avec un stylo
indélébile pour éviter toute confusion.

REMARQUE
Procédez à un nettoyage soigneux directement après

chaque utilisation, comme cela est décrit par la suite.

• Retirez les piles avant de nettoyer l’appareil.

• Retirez les pièces support, le couvercle, le réservoir des
substances actives avec l’unité atomiseur de l’appareil.

• Lors du nettoyage, ne maintenez jamais l’appareil complet ou
l’unité atomiseur sous l’eau courante et, le cas échéant, veillez à
ce que l’eau ne s’infiltre pas dans l’appareil.

• Nettoyez le boîtier de l'appareil avec un chiffon légèrement
humide et imbibé d'une solution savonneuse douce.

• Reinigen Sie die Abdeckung in gleicher Weise.

• Nettoyez le couvercle de la même manière.

• En règle générale, nettoyez les pièces support utilisées (embout
buccal, masque, raccord) à l’eau courante.

• Nous recommandons d'effectuer cette procédure lorsque
l'appareil est resté longtemps inutilisé ou avant la première
utilisation.

• En cas de maladies infectieuses, il est nécessaire de désinfecter
ou stériliser tous les embouts une fois par jour (nous recom-

mandons d'effectuer cette opération le matin ou le soir à une
heure fixe). Vous pouvez également utiliser de l’alcool ou des
désinfectants à pulvériser usuels à base d’alcool. Veillez à
éliminer tous les restes de désinfectant dans les pièces support
pour permettre une prochaine inhalation en toute sécurité.

• Laissez sécher les éléments séparément et ouverts sur un
chiffon. Ne remontez pas les éléments tant qu'ils sont humides.

• Après chaque utilisation, nettoyez le réservoir des substances
actives et l’unité atomiseur. Versez 8 ml d’alcool éthylique dans
le réservoir des substances actives. Lors de cette opération, ne
retirez pas l’unité atomiseur du réservoir des substances actives.
Fermez le réservoir des médicaments. Laissez l’alcool pendant
au moins 10 minutes dans le réservoir. Pour une meilleure
désinfection, secouez légèrement l’unité. Videz ensuite l’alcool
éthylique du réservoir.

• Répétez cette procédure avec de l’eau.

• Séparez maintenant l’unité atomiseur du réservoir des substan­ces actives. Tournez pour cela l’unité atomiseur dans le sens
inverse des aiguilles d’une montre et retirez-la du support du
réservoir. Nettoyez ensuite une nouvelle fois les deux pièces
avec de l’eau fraîche.

• Après l'inhalation de solutions contenant du sel, il est possible
que des restes de liquide se déposent sous forme de cristaux
dans le filtre fin de l'atomiseur et endommagent le filtre. Afin
d'éviter cela, nous vous recommandons expressément d'utiliser
l'appareil brièvement, c'est-à-dire pendant 1 minute environ,
avec de l'eau claire, afin de rincer la solution salée.

• Veillez toujours à ce que l’unité atomiseur et le réservoir des
substances actives soient bien secs.

• Si des restes de médicaments ou des impuretés subsistent au
niveau des contacts dorés de l’appareil et de l’unité atomiseur,
utilisez un bâtonnet ouaté imbibé d’alcool éthylique pour
procéder au nettoyage.

Elimination de
l’appareil

Cet appareil ne doit pas être placé avec les ordures ménagères.
Chaque consommateur doit ramener les appareils électriques ou
électroniques, qu’ils contiennent des substances nocives ou non,
à un point de collecte de sa commune ou dans le commerce afin
de permettre leur élimination écologique.
Retirez les piles avant de jeter l’appareil. Ne mettez pas les piles
usagées à la poubelle, placezles avec les déchets spéciaux ou
déposez-les dans un point de collecte des piles usagées dans les

Le malattie delle vie respiratorie o dei polmoni sono spesso
lunghe, complicate e dolorose e pongono dei limiti al nostro
modo di vivere. Possono aiutari terapie efficaci e tempestive
come, per esempio, la terapia inalatoria con aerosol.
Con il termine aerosol si intende un gas + un miscuglio di
particelle; un esempio che troviamo in natura è la nebbia. Nella
aerosolterapia i medicinali vengono ridotti ad una forma in cui
"sono portati dall'aria" (per esempio nebulizzati) ed inalati. Il
grande vantaggio di questa terapia (al contrario dell'assunzione di
compresse, per esempio) è che il farmaco viene somministrato
direttamente lì, dove deve agire (attraverso bocca - naso - faringe
nei polmoni) senza attraversare nessun altro organo:

La tecnica degli ultrasuoni

Nel nebulizzatore a ultrasuoni viene prodotto un aerosol attra­verso le oscillazioni di un cristallo piezoelettrico.
Si ha quindi la trasformazione dell'energia elettrica in oscillazioni
meccaniche che, a loro volta, provocano la formazione delle
goccioline. Il diametro ottimale delle goccioline è di 1-5 µm
(secondo le "direttive per la aerosolterapia delle malattie
nari", Lega malattie polmonari Svizzera). Solo con diametri
piccoli le goccioline possono penetrare nelle strette ramificazioni
delle vie polmonari superiori ed inferiori, ed in tal modo deposi­tare il farmaco dove deve svolgere la sua funzione.

Ogni persona che fa uso dell'apparecchio deve utilizzare il suo
proprio set di accessori per evitare di infettarsi reciprocamente o
di o di inalare sostanze per lei dannose.

Garanzia contro la fuoriuscita

Quando si versa il contenuto nel contenitore del principio attivo

accertarsi che questo sia riempito non oltre il contrassegno



massimo (8 ml). La quantità di riempimento consigliata varia da 2
a 8 ml.
Durante l'aerosolterapia potete inclinare l'apparecchio fino ad
una angolazione di massimo 45° in avanti, all'indietro e lateral­mente senza pregiudicare la nebulizzazione e di conseguenza il
successo terapeutico.
MEDISANA USC è protetto contro la fuoriuscita. Raccoman­diamo anche di non scuotere l’apparecchio se il contenitore del
principio attivo è pieno; potrebbe penetrare del liquido nella parte
elettronica e danneggiare l'apparecchio.

Spegnimento finale automatico

L’apparecchio è dotato di un dispositivo di spegnimento auto­matico. Se il contenuto viene consumato fino ad una quantità
residua minima e nel contenitore è presente una quantità minima
o addirittura nulla di liquido, l’apparecchio si spegne automati­camente dopo un breve intervallo.

Allo stesso modo l’apparecchio si spegne se l’angolo di inclina­zione di 45°, a prescindere dalla direzione, viene superato.

Aprire il vano batteria sul lato inferiore dell’apparecchio con
una leggera pressione e tirando contemporaneamente sul simbo­lo della freccia. Inserire le quattro batterie fornite in dotazione
(tipo AA LR6). Fare attenzione alla direzione di posizionamento
delle batterie (figura sul fondo dell’alloggiamento). Riapplicare il
coperchio del vano batteria premendolo.

Durata di
funzionamento

Con le nuove batterie alcaline l’apparecchio ha un’autonomia di
ca. 100 minuti. Questo è sufficiente per 5 - 8 trattamenti con
soluzione salina (a seconda del dosaggio e della durata
dell’applicazione). Di solito la fase di inalazione con MEDISANA
USC, grazie all’alta prestazione del nebulizzatore ad ultrasuoni,
varia dagli 8 ai 10 minuti se il contenitore del principio attivo è
stato riempito con un massimo di 8 ml. Un’applicazione completa
non dovrebbe tuttavia durare più di 15 minuti.

Possibili usi della terapia inalatoria sono le malattie acute delle vie
respiratorie, quali, per esempio:

i raffreddori
le infiammazioni dei seni paranasali

o le malattie croniche quali, per esempio:

l'asma bronchiale
la bronchite

NOTA
Prima di iniziare la terapia, consultate il vostro medico

per determinare la lunghezza, il dosaggio e la frequenza
dell’applicazione. A seconda dello scopo della terapia (ad
es. trattamento dei polmoni = applicazione con boccaglio
o trattamento della cavità nosofaringea = applicazione
con maschera) deve essere scelto il tipo di applicazione.
Anche in questo caso fatevi consigliare dal vostro
medico.

Utilizzate soltanto farmaci e preparati solubili in acqua o preparati
su base alcolica. Possono essere utilizzate tutte le usuali soluzioni
per uso inalatorio per gli apparecchi ad ultrasuoni. Spesso viene
consigliata una soluzione salina. Non utilizzate preparati per
inalazione prodotti su base oleosa. Chiedete al Vostro medico
quale prepa-rato è adatto a Voi. Informazioni dettagliate sono
disponibili anche nei manuali tecnici che trattano gli argomenti
"aerosol", "inalazione" o "terapia respiratoria", presso gruppi di
studio e associazioni o presso il vostro medico.

Prima della messa in funzione iniziale o dopo una lunga fase di
inattività dell’apparecchio, pulire e disinfettare l’unità di nebu­lizzazione e il coperchio, nonché il boccaglio e la maschera
insieme al connettore (vedi anche “Pulizia e cura”.

Inalazione con

1. SedeteVi tenendo una posi-zione il più eretta possibile.

fare una pausa, interrompere brevemente e togliere il boc­caglio dalla bocca. Rimetterlo di nuovo in bocca (le labbra
devono sigillarlo) e inspirare e espirare di nuovo lentamente.

Tenete l'apparecchio il più verticale possibile. Una

posizione leggermente inclinata non influisce sull'appli­cazione (protezione contro la fuoriuscita). Per avere la
massima prestazione controllate durante l'inalazione di
non inclinare oltre 45° in nessuna direzione l'apparecchio.

manutenzione

La borsa di custodia di MEDISANA USC vi consente di tras­portare il vostro inalatore ad ultrasuoni in modo sicuro e pulito.
Grazie alla sua relativa silenziosità è possibile utilizzare l’inalatore
senza problemi senza disturbare chi ci sta vicino. Soprattutto nel
caso dei bambini è stato confermato che il funzionamento senza
rumori porta ad una maggiore accettazione della terapia, in
quanto l'uso dell'apparecchio è stato trovato meno fastidioso e
meno angosciante.

NOTA
Nel caso in casa ci fossero più persone che fanno uso

dell'inalatore e fossero quindi necessari più set di
accessori, Vi consigliamo di contrassegnarli in modo
chiaro con una matita resistente all'acqua per evitare
la possibilità di scambiarli.

NOTA
Eseguire le operazioni di pulizia accuratamente e

direttamente dopo ogni applicazione come descritto
qui di seguito.

• Prima di pulire l’apparecchio, estrarre le batterie.

• Rimuovere gli accessori, il coperchio, il contenitore del principio
attivo con l’unità di nebulizzazione dall’apparecchio.

• Non tenere mai l’intero apparecchio nè l’unità di nebulizzazione
sotto acqua corrente per pulirli e fare attenzione che all’interno
dell’apparecchio non penetri acqua.

• Pulite la parte esterna dell'apparecchio con un panno legger­mente umido imbevuto con una soluzione saponosa delicata.

• Pulire il coperchio nello stesso modo.

• Di solito per pulire gli accessori utilizzati (boccaglio, maschera,
connettore) si passano sotto l’acqua corrente.

• Dovete fare questa pulizia anche se non avete adoperato per
più tempo l'apparecchio e prima di utilizzarlo per la prima volta.

• In caso di malattie infettive, tutti gli accessori dell'apparecchio
devono essere disinfettati o sterilizzati una volta al giorno. (si
consiglia di seguire regolarmente queste misure al mattino od
alla sera ad un orario fisso). Per questa operazione è possibile
utilizzare alcol o disinfettanti spray alcolici comunemente in
commercio. Assicurarsi che non rimangano resti di disinfettante
sui pezzi di attacco per non compromettere la successiva inala­zione.

• Fate asciugare tutti i pezzi tenendoli separati ed all'aria su un
panno. Non inserite uno nell'altro gli accessori finché sono
umidi.

• Dopo ogni utilizzo pulire il contenitore del principio attivo e
l’unità di nebulizzazione. Mettere 8 ml di alcol etilico nel
contenitore del principio attivo. Durante questa operazione non
togliere l’unità di nebulizzazione dal contenitore del principio
attivo. Chiudere il recipiente per il medicinale. Lasciare l’alcol
per circa 10 minuti nel contenitore. Per una disinfezione
migliore scuotere di tanto in tanto leggermente l’unità. Dopo
questo trattamento togliere l’alcol etilico dal contenitore.

• Ripetere la procedura, questa volta però con acqua.

• Separare ora l’unità di nebulizzazione dal contenitore del
principio attivo. A tal fine ruotare l’unità di nebulizzazione in
senso antiorario tirandola dall’attacco del contenitore. Lavare
poi ancora una volta entrambi i pezzi con acqua pulita.

• Dopo l'inalazione di soluzioni saline, alcuni resti liquidi
potrebbero depositarsi sulla rete sottile del nebulizzatore sotto
forma di cristalli ed, eventualmente, danneggiare la rete. Per
evitare tale rischio, consigliamo vivamente di far funzionare
l'apparecchio con acqua pulita per circa 1 min. per risciacquare
così la soluzione salina.

• Assicurarsi sempre che l’unità di nebulizzazione e il contenitore
del principio attivo siano bene asciutti.

• Se si trovano resti di soluzioni mediche o impurità sui contatti
color oro dell’apparecchio e dell’unità di nebulizzazione,
utilizzare un bastoncino di ovatta imbevuto di alcol etilico.

Smaltimento

L'apparecchio non può essere smaltito insieme ai rifiuti domestici.
Ogni utilizzatore ha l'obbligo di gettare tutte le apparecchiature
elettroniche o elettriche, contenenti o prive di sostanze nocive,
presso un punto di raccolta della propria città o di un rivenditore
specializzato, in modo che vengano smaltite nel rispetto dell'am­biente. Togliere le pile prima di smaltire lo strumento. Non gettare
le pile esaurite nei rifiuti domestici, ma nei rifiuti speciali o in una
stazione di raccolta pile presso i rivenditori specializzati.
Per lo smaltimento rivolgersi alle autorità comunali o al proprio
rivenditore.

direttamente il centro di assistenza. Se dovesse essere necessario
spedire l’apparecchio, specificare il guasto e allegare una copia
della ricevuta di acquisto.

Valgono le seguenti condizioni di garanzia:

1. I prodotti MEDISANA hanno una garanzia di tre anni a partire
dalla data di vendita. La data di acquisto deve essere compro­vata in caso di garanzia dalla ricevuta di acquisto o dalla
fattura.

2. Durante il periodo di garanzia, i guasti dovuti a difetti di
materiale o di lavorazione vengono eliminati gratuitamente.

3. Una prestazione di garanzia non da diritto al prolungamento

MEDISANA USC, le aconsejamos leer atentamente las
siguientes instrucciones de manejo y de mantenimiento.

Compruebe primero si el aparato está completo y si no presenta
daño alguno. En caso de dudas, no ponga el aparato en funcio­namiento y diríjase a su proveedor o punto de atención al cliente.

El embalaje es reutilizable o puede reciclarse. Deshágase del
material de embalaje que no se necesite, siguiendo las normas
pertinentes. Si al desembalar observara algún daño causado

Las enfermedades de las vías respiratorias o de los pulmones son
a menudo de larga duración, dolorosas y limitadoras de la calidad
de vida. Existen terapias efectivas, como por ejemplo la terapia de
inhalación con aerosoles, que llevadas a cabo a tiempo pueden
producir un efecto de apoyo y de ayuda. Como aerosol se define
un gas + una mezcla de partículas; Un ejemplo que se da en la
naturaleza es la niebla. En la terapia con aerosoles los medica­mentos son transformados en una "forma de aire" (por ejemplo
vaporizados) e inhalados. La gran ventaja de esta forma de tera­pia (comparada con la toma de pastillas por ejemplo) es de que
los medicamentos son administrados allí donde deben hacer
efecto (sobre la zona de la boca, nariz y garganta hacia los
pulmones) sin tener que pasar por otros órganos:

2. No existen efectos secundarios (que merezca la pena mencio-

nar) o efectos secundarios en otros órganos.

Técnica ultrasónica

El nebulizador por ultrasonidos genera un aerosol mediante las
oscilaciones de un cristal piezoeléctrico.
Esto es, energía eléctrica es convertida en oscilaciones mecánicas,
a través de lo cual son producidas gotitas. El diámetro óptimo de
las gotas es de 1-5 µm (Según "las directivas para la terapia con
aerosoles de enfermedades pulmonares ", Liga Suiza para
medades Pulmonares). Sólo si las gotitas disponen de un
diámetro pequeño pueden penetrar en las estrechas ramifica­ciones de las vías respiratorias superiores e inferiores, y así trans­portar y depositar el medicamento allí donde debe hacer efecto.

Inhalación

NOTAS

• Antes de utilizar un medicamento o preparado debe
asegurarse de que tal preparado es adecuado para
usted consultando con su médico. Utilice
exclusivamente medicamentos / preparados que
hayan sido indicados por el médico.

• El inhalador nebulizador por ultrasonidos MEDISANA
USC ha sido diseñado para ser utilizado con todos los
preparados de inhalación comunes (aerosoles) con
excepción de

- Ingredientes activos con componentes sólidos

(suspensiones)

- Soluciones espesas (muy viscosas)

- Aceites esenciales

• ¡No utilice aceites etéreos! De lo contrario, podrían
causarse daños en la membrana del nebulizador.

• Utilice exclusivamente preparados/medicamentos
diluibles en agua, o aquellos que hayan sido
fabricados con una base de alcohol.

• Para diluir el líquido de inhalación utilice
exclusivamente solución salina isotónica, ya que de lo
contrario es posible que se produzcan espasmos de los
bronquios.

• No utilice ningún líquido de inhalación con una base
de aceite.

• Después de haber inhalado soluciones salinas, es
necesario que usted aclare y limpie el aparato tal como
se describe en el punto 4.2 (Limpieza y cuidado).

La combinación con otros aparatos no ha sido prevista.
Utilice exclusivamente los accesorios originales con este
aparato,solo así puede ser garantizado el funcionamiento seguro
del mismo.
Utilice para cada usuario/a un equipo accesorio individual con el
fin de evitar contagios o la transmisión de sustancias nocivas.

Seguridad contra rebosamiento

Cuando llene el recipiente para sustancias activas con el inhalable

, procure llenarlo sólo hasta la marca de cantidad máxima



(8 ml). La cantidad de llenado recomendada oscila entre 2 y 8 ml.
Durante la terapia de inhalación puede volcar el aparato hacia
atrás o lateralmente hasta un ángulo de como máximo 45°, sin
repercutir así en la pulverización o en el éxito del tratamiento.
El MEDISANA USC esta asegurado contra rebosamiento. A pesar
de ello, no debe sacudir el aparato cuando el recipiente para
sustancias activas esté lleno, puesto que podrían penetrar líquidos
en la electrónica del mismo y dañarlo.

Desconexión final automática

El aparato dispone de un sistema de desconexión automático.
Cuando prácticamente ya no queda casi nada de inhalante o el
aparato detecta que ya no existe ningún líquido en el recipiente
para sustancias activas, éste se desconecta sólo tras poco tiempo.
¡No utilice el aparato si el recipiente para sustancias activas
está vacío!
El aparato también se desconecta automáticamente si se excede
el ángulo de inclinación de 45 º, sea cual sea su dirección.



Montaje

1. Coloque el nebulizador

para sustancias activas
de las agujas del reloj hasta que los electrodos de contacto
dorados señalen hacia abajo.

2. Ahora coloque esta combinación de módulos en la base del
aparato, de forma que los dos seguros blancos a la derecha y a
la izquierda queden encajados de forma perceptible.

de las pilas

Abra el compartimento para pilas en la parte inferior del
aparato ejerciendo una leve presión y tirando del símbolo de la
flecha al mismo tiempo. Inserte las cuatro pilas suministradas (tipo
AA LR6). Presta especial atención a la posición de los polos de las
pilas (ilustración en el fondo del compartimento). Vuelva a colocar
la tapa y presiónela un poco.

Con pilas alcalinas nuevas podrá utilizar el aparato durante unos
100 minutos. Es el tiempo suficiente para 5 u 8 aplicaciones con
solución salina (según la dosificación y la duración de la
aplicación).
Normalmente, una fase de inhalación con MEDISANA USC dura
de 8 a 10 minutos debido a la gran eficacia del nebulizador por
ultrasonidos (si el recipiente para sustancias activas se ha llenado
con un máximo de 8 ml). Tenga presente que una aplicación no
debería durar más de 15 minutos en total.

Antes de iniciar la terapia, consulte con su médico

acerca de la duración del tratamiento, la dosificación y
la frecuencia de utilización. Según sea el objetivo de la
terapia (por ejemplo, tratamiento de los pulmones =
aplicación con boquilla o tratamiento de gargantas =
aplicación con máscara) debe adoptarse una clase de
aplicación distinta. Consúltelo con su médico.

Utilice exclusivamente preparados/medicamentos solubles en
agua o aquellos que hayan sido producidos con una base de
alcohol. Pueden ser utilizadas todas las soluciones de inhalación
que suelen ser usadas para inhaladores ultrasónicos. Habitual­mente se recomienda una solución salina. No utilice ningún
líquido de inhalación que haya sido producido con una base de
aceite. Consulte con su médico qué preparado es el adecuado
para usted. Si desea recibir informaciones más detalladas, con­sulte también la literatura especializada en los temas "aerosol",
"inhalación" o "terapia respiratoria" o consulte con los colectivos
y las asociaciones correspondientes o con su médico al respecto.

largo período sin haberlo utilizado, limpie y desinfecte el
nebulizador y la tapa, así como la boquilla y la máscara junto con

resultados con la terapia en general. Lo más importante es que
usted esté tranquilo y relajado mientras aspira y espira aire
regularmente. No inhale demasiado deprisa. Si desea hacer
una pausa interrumpa la aplicación brevemente y saque la
boquilla de la boca. Vuelva a ponérsela en la boca (los labios
deben rodearla de forma hermética) y siga inspirando y
espirando lentamente.

NOTA
El aparato debe ser mantenido, si es posible,

verticalmente. Sin embargo una posición levemente
inclinada del mismo no afecta la aplicación (seguridad
contra rebosamiento). Para obtener una capacidad de
funcionamiento total observe durante la inhalación
que el aparato no esté volcado en más de 45° en cada

Limpieza y
cuidado

Gracias a la bolsa para guardar su MEDISANA USC, su nebuliza­dor por ultrasonidos puede transportarse siempre de forma
segura y limpia. Puesto que a penas hace ruido, puede utilizar el
inhalador sin problemas son molestar a los que están a su alrede­dor. En especial en el tratamiento de niños se ha constatado que
el funcionamiento silencioso del aparato ha conllevado a una
mayor aceptación de la aplicación, ya que éstos lo encuentran
menos inquietante y molesto.

NOTA
Si en su casa hay más de un usuario/a del inhalador y

de varios juegos de piezas accesorias, le recomendamos
caracterizarlas con un rotulador no soluble en agua con
el fin de evitar que se produzca una confusión.

NOTA
Lleve a cabo las medidas de limpieza con cuidado y

directamente tras cada aplicación como se detalla a
continuación.

• Extraiga las pilas antes de limpiar el aparato.

• Retire las piezas, la tapa, el recipiente para sustancias activas y
el nebulizador del aparato.

• No sumerja nunca todo el aparato ni el nebulizador bajo agua
corriente para limpiarlo y procure también que no penetre agua
dentro del mismo.

• Limpie la carcasa del aparato con un paño humedecido ligera­mente y empapado con una lejía de jabón suave.

• Limpie la tapa de la misma manera.

• Normalmente, las piezas adicionales utilizadas (boquilla,
máscara, pieza de conexión) se limpian bajo agua corriente.

• Esta limpieza debe ser también llevada a cabo cuando el
aparato ha estado un largo período de tiempo sin ser utilizado y
antes de la primera utilización.

• Si padece una enfermedad infecciosa, debe desinfectar o
esterilizar todas las piezas de aplicación del aparato una vez al

día (se recomienda llevar a cabo estas medidas regularmente
por las mañanas o por las tarde a una hora determinada). En
tales casos, se puede utilizar alcohol u otros desinfectantes con
alcohol en frascos pulverizadores usuales en el comercio.
Procure que no queden restos de desinfectante en las piezas y
complementos a fin de no perjudicar la siguiente aplicación de
inhalación.

• Deje secarse todas las piezas por separado y abiertas sobre un
paño. No monte las piezas mientras estén húmedas.

• Limpie el recipiente para sustancias activas y el nebulizador tras
cada utilización. Vierta 8 ml de alcohol etílico en el recipiente
para sustancias activas. Para efectuar esta operación, no retire el
nebulizador del recipiente para sustancias activas. Cierre el
recipiente para las medicinas. Deje el alcohol en el recipiente un
mínimo de 10 minutos. Para obtener una mejor desinfección,
agite ligeramente la unidad. Vierta el alcohol etílico del tanque
tras esta operación.

• Repita este procedimiento pero con agua.

• Separe el nebulizador del recipiente para sustancias activas. Para
ello, haga girar el nebulizador en sentido contrario a las agujas
del reloj y sepárelo del recipiente. Finalmente, limpie las dos
piezas con agua fresca.

• Después de haber inhalado soluciones salinas, existe la
posibilidad de que restos del líquido se depositen en forma de
cristales en la red fina del pulverizador y, dado el caso, puedan
dañar la red. Para evitar que esto suceda, le recomendamos
encarecidamente que haga funcionar el aparato durante aprox.
1 min con agua limpia para así, lavar la solución salina.

• El nebulizador y el recipiente para sustancias activas deben estar
siempre bien secos.

• Si observa restos de soluciones medicinales o suciedad en los
contactos dorados del aparato y del nebulizador, utilice
bastoncillos de algodón sumergidos en alcohol etílico para
limpiarlos.

Indicaciones para
la eliminación

Este aparato no se debe eliminar por medio de la recogida de
basuras doméstica.
Todos los usuarios están obligados a entregar todos los aparatos
eléctricos o electrónicos, independientemente de si contienen
substancias dañinas o no, en un punto de recogida de su ciudad
o en el comercio especializado, para que puedan ser eliminados
sin dañar el medio ambiente.
Retire las pilas antes de deshacerse del aparato. No arroje las pilas
usadas a la basura sino al contenedor de residuos especiales, o
deposítelas en los recolectores de pilas de los comercios especia­lizados.

Le rogamos consulte con su distribuidor especializado o directa­mente con el centro de servicio técnico en caso de una recla­mación. Si tuviera que remitirnos el dispositivo, le rogamos
indique el defecto y adjunte una copia del recibo de compra.

En este caso, se aplicarán las siguientes condiciones de garantía:

1. Con relación a los productos de MEDISANA, se ofrece una
garantía por un período de tres años a partir de la fecha de
compra. En caso de una reclamación, la fecha de compra debe
probarse mediante el recibo de compra o la factura.

2. Los defectos de material o de fabricación se eliminarán de
forma gratuita dentro del período de garantía.

3. La aplicación de la garantía no conlleva una extensión del
período de garantía, ni con respecto al dispositivo ni con
respecto a los componentes sustituidos.

As doenças das vias respiratórias ou dos pulmões são frequen­temente crónicas, dolorosas e provocam incapacidade. As
terapias atempadas e efectivas como, p.ex. a terapia de inalação
com aerossóis podem proporcionar uma grande ajuda.
Um aerossol é uma mistura de gás + partículas; um bom exemplo
disso é o nevoeiro que ocorre na natureza. Na terapia com
aerossóis, os medicamentos são colocados e inalados em forma
de "vapor" (p.ex. nebulizados). A maior parte desta terapia (ao
contrário dos medicamentos em comprimidos) consiste no facto
dos medicamentos serem ministrados directamente no local onde
vão actuar (através da cavidade bocal-nasal até aos pulmões) sem
ter de percorrer os outros órgãos:

1. O efeito é substancialmente mais rápido.

2. Não existem efeitos ou efeitos secundários (relevantes) nos

outros órgãos.

3. A dosagem de medicamentos é reduzida.

Técnica de ultra-sons

O nebulizador por ultra-sons cria um aerossol através das vibra­ções de um cristal piezo-eléctrico.
Isto é, a energia eléctrica é transformada em vibrações mecânicas
a partir das quais são criadas gotículas. O diâmetro óptimo das
gotículas é de 1-5 µm (segundo as “Directivas para terapia com
aerossóis para doenças de pulmões”, Associação dos Pulmões
Suíça). Apenas com um diâmetro pequeno é que as gotículas
podem penetrar nas ramificações estreitas das vias respiratórias
superiores e inferiores e, deste modo, transportar e depositar o
medicamento onde ele deve actuar.

• Antes de utilizar um medicamento ou preparado,
pergunte ao seu médico se este é apropriado para si
ou só utilize medicamentos/preparados receitados
pelo seu médico.

• Após a inalação de soluções salinas, tem de lavar e
limpar o aparelho obrigatoriamente como descrito
no ponto 4.2 (Limpeza e mantunenção).

Com este aprelho, utilize exclusivamente os acessórios originais,

Segurança contra derramamento

Durante a colocação da substância de inalação dentro do depó-

Durante a terapia de inalação, o aparelho pode ser inclinado para

O USC da MEDISANA é seguro contra derramamento. No
entanto, o aparelho não deve ser agitado quando o depósito da
substância de inalação estiver cheio; deste modo, o líquido pode

Desactivação automática

O aparelho possui um sistema de desactivação automática.
Quando a substância de inalação estiver quase gasta e não existir
líquido ou quase nenhum líquido no depósito, o aparelho desliga­se automaticamente após um breve período de tempo.
Não utilize o aparelho se o depósito da substância de inalação
estiver vazio!
Além disso, o aparelho também se desliga automaticamente
quando o ângulo de inclinação de 45° é excedido em qualquer
direcção.



as pilhas

Abra o compartimento das pilhas localizado na parte traseira
do aparelho pressionando ligeiramente o símbolo da seta e
deslocando a tampa. Insira as quatro pilhas fornecidas (tipo AA
LR6). Tenha atenção aos pólos das pilhas (figura no fundo do
compartimento). Volte a colocar a tampa do compartimento das
pilhas e pressione a mesma para a posição inicial.
Quando a indicação do estado das pilhas laranja
o aparelho ligado, insira pilhas novas.

Duração de
funcionamento

Com pilhas alcalinas novas, o aparelho possui uma autonomia de
aprox. 100 minutos. Este tempo é suficiente para 5 - 8 aplicações
com solução salina (conforme a dosagem e o tempo de aplica­ção). Por norma, uma fase de inalação com o MEDISANA USC é
de 8 - 10 minutos quando o depósito está cheio com, no máx., 8
ml devido à da elevada potência do nebulizador por ultra-sons.
No entanto, uma aplicação nunca deve exceder os 15 minutos.

Utilize apenas preparados / medicamentos ou semelhantes
solúveis que são produzidos à base de álcool. Pode utilizar todas
as soluções de inalação normais para inaladores ultra-sónicos.
Muitas vezes é recomendada uma solução salina. Não utilize
substâncias de inalação produzidas à base de óleo. Consulte o
seu médico para saber qual o preparado adequado para si.
Para mais informações, consulte os manuais técnicos relativos ao
tema "Aerossol", "Inalação" ou "Terapia de respiração", bem
como as associações profissionais e federações ou o seu médico.

Limpeza e
manutenção

Com a bolsa, o USC da MEDISANA está sempre guardado com
segurança e de modo limpo, mesmo quando não está em casa.
Graças ao reduzido ruído de funcionamento, o nebulizador pode
ser utilizado sem problemas e sem perturbar o ambiente. Espe­cialmente no tratamento de crianças, foi determinado que a
função silenciosa leva a uma aceitação maior da aplicação, pois a
mesma torna-se menos agressiva e perturbadora.

NOTA
Se na sua casa existirem vários utilizadores de inalação

e, deste modo, vários conjuntos de acessórios,
recomendamos que assinale os mesmos com uma
caneta à prova de água para prevenir trocas acidentais.

NOTA
Imediatamente após cada aplicação, execute os

trabalhos de limpeza de modo cuidadoso e conforme
a descrição que se segue.

• Antes de limpar o aparelho, remova as pilhas.

• Remova os acessórios, coberturas, depósito da substância de
inalação com a unidade de nebulização do aparelho.

• Para a limpeza, nunca segure todo o aparelho ou a unidade de
nebulização por baixo de água a correr e, eventualmente, tenha
atenção para não penetrar água no interior do aparelho.

• Limpe a caixa do aparelho com um pano ligeiramente humede­cido em detergente suave.

• Limpe a cobertura do mesmo modo.

• Normalmente, os acessórios (bocal, máscara, peça de ligação)
são limpos por baixo de água a correr.

• Esta limpeza também deve ser realizada quando o aparelho não
é utilizado durante muito tempo e, especialmente antes da
primeira utilização.

• Em caso de doenças infecciosas, todas as peças do aparelho

têm de ser desinfectadas respetivamente esterilizadas todos os
dias (recomendamos que realize estas medidas regularmente de
manhã ou à noite sempre à mesma hora). Durante a desin­fecção poderá utilizar álcool ou agentes de desinfecção normais
à base de álcool. Certifique-se de que não permanecem restos
do agente de desinfecção nos acessórios para não prejudicar a
próxima aplicação.

• Deixe todas as peças separadas e abertas secar em cima de um
pano. Não volte a montar as peças enquanto elas ainda esti­verem húmidas.

• Após cada utilização, limpe o depósito da substância de inala­ção e a unidade de nebulização. Coloque 8 ml de álcool etílico
no depósito da substância de inalação. Não é necessário retirar
a unidade de nebulização do depósito da substância de inala­ção. Feche o depósito. Deixe o álcool dentro do depósito duran­te, pelo menos, 10 minutos. Para uma melhor desinfecção,
agite ligeiramente a unidade. Depois, remova o álcool etílico do
depósito.

• Repita este procedimento, no entanto, agora, utilize água.

• Depois, separe a unidade de nebulização do depósito da
substância de inalação. Para isso, rode a unidade de nebuliza­ção no sentido contrário ao dos ponteiros do relógio e remova­a do encaixe do depósito. Em seguida, volte a limpar ambas as
peças com água limpa.

• Após a inalação de soluções salinas, podem formar-se sedimen­tações de resíduos do líquido sob a forma de cristais na rede do
nebulizador e, eventualmente, danificar a rede. Para evitar isto,
recomendamos que opere o aparelho por breves momentos,
isto é, aprox. 1 min. com água limpa para remover a solução
salina.

• Tenha sempre atenção para secar bem a unidade de nebuliza­ção e o depósito da substância de inalação.

• Se existirem restos das soluções medicinais ou sujidade nos
contactos dourados do aparelho e da unidade de nebulização,
utilize uma cotonete embebida em álcool etílico para a limpeza.

Indicações sobre
a eliminação

Este aparelho não pode ser eliminado em conjunto com o lixo
doméstico. Cada consumidor tem o dever de entregar qualquer
aparelho eléctrico ou electrónico com ou sem substâncias nocivas
nos postos de recolha públicos da sua cidade ou no seu
revendedor especializado, para que possam ser eliminados
ecologicamente. Antes de eliminar o aparelho, remova as pilhas.
Não elimine as pilhas vazias através do lixo doméstico, mas
entregue-as nos postos de recolha especiais para pilhas ou

apparaat
wijzingen voor het gebruik en het onderhoud zorgvuldig door te
lezen.

Gelieve eerst te controleren of het instrument volledig is en volle­dig vrij van beschadigingen is. In geval van twijfel neemt u het
toestel niet in bedrijf en neemt u contact op met uw handelaar of
uw servicepunt. Bij de levering horen:

Leven = ademen / Ademen = leven

Ziektes van de luchtwegen of van de longen zijn meestal lang­durig, pijnlijk en beperken de kwaliteit van het leven. Tijdige,
effectieve therapieën zoals bijvoorbeeld de inhalatietherapie met
aërosolen kunnen hierbij hulp bieden.
Aërosol betekent een gas/deeltjes-mengsel; een voorbeeld hier­voor uit de natuur is de nevel. Bij de aërosoltherapie worden
medicamenten in een 'luchtgedragen' vorm (bijv. verneveld) om­gezet en ingeademd. Het geweldige voordeel van deze therapie
(anders dan dit bijv. bij het innemen van tabletten het geval is)
is dat de medicamenten zonder omwegen via andere organen
direct (via de mond-neus-keelholte naar de long) op de gewenste
plek terechtkomen - en dus effect hebben.

Accessoires

Het instrument is niet bestemd voor gebruik in combinatie met
andere instrumenten. Gebruik in combinatie met dit instrument
uitsluitend de daarvoor bestemde accessoires, omdat anders het
goed functioneren van het instrument niet kan worden gewaar­borgd.
Iedere gebruiker dient een eigen set accessoires te gebruiken, om
infecties of het overdragen van nadelige stoffen te voorkomen.

3 Het Gebruik

3.1
Montage

Uitloopbestendigheid

Let er bij het vullen van reservoir
slechts tot aan de maximale markering (8 ml) te vullen. De
aanbevolen vulhoeveelheid ligt tussen 2 en 8 ml.
Het instrument mag gedurende de inhalatietherapie tot een hoek
van maximaal 45° naar voren, terug of terzijde worden gekipt.
Hierdoor wordt het vernevelen en bijgevolg de succesvolle
behandeling niet negatief beïnvloed.
De MEDISANA USC is uitloopbestendig. Desondanks mag u het
toestel niet schudden als het reservoir voor de werkzame stof
gevuld is, daardoor kan er vloeistof in de elektronica binnen­dringen en kan dit leiden tot beschadiging van het instrument.

Automatische eindschakeling

Het toestel beschikt over een automatisch uitschakelings­mechanisme. Als de inhaleren stof dermate opgebruikt is dat er
zich nog slechts een zeer geringe resthoeveelheid of helemaal
geen vocht meer in het reservoir bevindt, schakelt het toestel na
een tijdje vanzelf uit. Gebruik het toestel niet als het reservoir
voor de werkzame stof
Het toestel schakelt zich evenzeer automatisch uit wanneer de
hellingshoek van 45 °, in welke richting ook, overschreden wordt.

Open batterijenvak aan de onderkant van het toestel met een
lichte druk terwijl u gelijktijdig trekt bij het pijltjessymbool. Plaats
de vier bijgeleverde batterijen (type AA LR6) erin. Controleer of de
batterijen in de juiste richting zijn geplaatst (zie de afbeelding in
de batterijruimte). Zet het batterijdeksel weer op het instrument
en druk dit in positie.
Vervang de batterijen door nieuwe wanneer het oranje batterij­symbool

op het display verschijnt.



WAARSCHUWING
VEILIGHEIDSAANWIJZINGEN T.A.V. DE BATTERIJ

• Batterien niet uit elkaar halen!

• Lege batterijen onmiddellijk uit het toestel

• Verhoogd uitloopgevaar, contact met huid, ogen en

• Plaats de batterijen correct, neem de polariteit in acht!

• Batterijen bij langer niet-gebruik uit het toestel
verwijderen!

• Batterijen uit de buurt van kinderen houden!

• Batterijen niet heropladen! Er bestaat explosiegevaar!

• Niet kortsluiten! Er bestaat explosiegevaar!

• Niet in het vuur werpen! Er bestaat explosiegevaar!

• Geef verbruikte batterijen en accu's niet met het
gewone huisvuil mee, maar met het speciale afval of
in een batterijverzamelstation in de vakhandel!

Met nieuwe alkaline-batterijen kan u het toestel ca. 100 minuten
gebruiken. Dit volstaat voor 5 tot 8 beurten met zoutoplossing
(afhankelijk van dosering en gebruiksduur).
Wanneer het reservoir voor de werkzame stok met maximaal 8 ml
opgevuld is, bedraagt een inhalatiefase met de MEDISANE USC
door het hoge prestatievermogen van de ultrageluid-vernevelaar
in de regel 8 tot 10 minuten. Een gebruiksbeurt mag in het totaal
echter niet langer dan 15 minuten duren.

Praat voor het begin van de therapie met uw arts over

de lengte, de dosering en de frequentie van het gebruik.
Afhankelijk van het doel van de therapie (bijv.
behandeling van de longen = gebruik met mondstuk of
behandeling van neus- en keelholte = gebruik met
masker) moet de juiste gebruikswijze geselecteerd
worden. Laat u ook hierover door uw arts informeren.

Gebruikt u alleen wateroplosbare of op basis van alcohol vervaar­digde preparaten/medicamenten. Alle in de handel gebruikelijke
inhalatie-oplossingen voor ultrageluidinhalatie-instrumenten
mogen worden gebruikt. Vaak wordt een zoutoplossing aanbe­volen. Gebruik geen op basis van olie vervaar-digde inhalaten.
Vraag uw arts, welk preparaat geschikt is voor u.
Uitvoeriger informatie krijgt u ook in vakboeken over het thema
"aërosol", "inhalatie" of "ademtherapie", evenals bij werkge­meenschappen en verenigingen of bij uw arts.

Voor de eerste ingebruikneming of na een langere periode waarin
het toestel niet gebruikt werd, reinigt en desinfecteert u het
vernevelingsapparaat en de afdekking, alsook het mondstuk en
het masker inclusief verbindingsstuk (zie ook “Reiniging en
onderhoud”).

(lippen omsluiten het dicht) en adem weer langzaam in en uit.

Houd het instrument zo recht mogelijk. Door een

geringe schuine stand wordt de toepassing echter
niet negatief beïnvloed (uitloopbestendig). Voor het
optimale functioneren is het wel belangrijk dat het
instrument bij de inhalatie niet meer dan maximaal
45° in iedere richting wordt gekipt.

5. De inhalatie mag maximaal 15 minuten toegepast worden.

6. Wanneer de inhalatie voltooid is, schakel het instrument dan

uit door op de AAN/UIT-toets

Inhalatie met

Als alternatief zijn bij de levering twee inhalatiemaskers (één
voor kinderen en één voor volwassenen) en één verbindingsstuk

inbegrepen. Hiermee kan het aërosol via de neus worden



ingeademd. Dit gebruik wordt vooral door kinderen en (oudere)
mensen als aangenamer ervaren.

1. Gaat u zo recht mogelijk zitten.

2. Bevestig het masker

3. Hou het masker lichtjes over de neus heen gedrukt. Let erop
dat het masker de neus dicht omsluit, zonder te drukken.

4. Schakel het instrument in door op de AAN/UIT-toets
drukken. De batterij-indicator (groen,

5. Adem nu langzaam en diep door de neus in en uit. U kunt het
therapie-resultaat verbeteren door na het inademen voor een
kort moment de adem in te houden. Dit geeft echter niet de
uitslag voor een succesvolle therapie. Het is wel belangrijk dat
u rustig en ontspannen blijft, terwijl u gelijkmatig in- en
uitademt. Inhaleer niet te snel. Als u een pauze wilt maken,
stop de inhalatie dan even.

Met de bewaartas bij de MEDISANA USC heeft u ook onderweg
uw ultrasone inhalator altijd veilig en netjes opgeborgen bij zich.
Omwille van zijn geringe geluidsontwikkeling kan u de inhalator
probleemloos gebruiken zonder de omgeving te storen. Er is
vooral bij de behandeling van kinderen vastgesteld, dat de
geruisarme functie tot een grotere acceptatie van de toepassing
heeft geleid, omdat ze deze als minder storend en minder be­nauwend hebben ondervonden.

AANWIJZING
Als er meerdere inhalatie-gebruikers in uw huishouden

zijn en dus meerdere sets accessoires, kunt deze
het beste bijv. met een waterbestendige pen markeren,
om verwisselingen te voorkomen.

AANWIJZING
Voer de reinigingsmaatregelen zorgvuldig en direct na

ieder gebruik als volgt uit.

• Verwijder de batterijen vooraleer u het toestel reinigt.

• Neem de aanzetstukken, de afdekking, het reservoir met de
vernevelingsapparaat van het toestel.

• Hou het gehele toestel of het vernevelingsapparaat nooit onder
stromend water om het te reinigen, en controleer wanneer
nodig of er geen water in het toestel binnendringt.

• Reinig de behuizing van het instrument met een licht vochtige
en in een zachte zeepoplossing gedrenkte doek.

• Reinig de afdekking op dezelfde wijze.

• Normalerwijze reinigt u de gebruikte aanzetstukken (mondstuk,
masker, verbindingsstuk) onder stromend water.

• Deze manier van reiniging is ook aan te bevelen, wanneer het
instrument over een langere periode niet is gebruikt en vóór het
eerste gebruik.

• Bij infectueuze aandoeningen moet u alle aanzetstukken van
het apparaat iedere dag een keer desinfecteren c.q. steriliseren

4 Diversen

(dit kan het beste regelmatig 's morgens of 's avonds op een
vaste tijdstip gebeuren). Daarbij is het gebruik van alcohol of in
de handel te verkrijgen alcoholische desinfecteermiddelen met
sproeivoorziening mogelijk. Controleer of er geen resten van
het desinfecteermiddel op de aanzetstukken achterblijven om
de de volgende inhalatiebeurt niet in gevaar te brengen.

• Laat de onderdelen afzonderlijk en aan de open lucht op een
doek drogen. Koppel de onderdelen niet aan elkaar zolang deze
niet volledig droog zijn.

• Reinig na ieder gebruik het reservoir voor de werkzame stof en
het vernevelingsapparaat. Giet 8 ml ethylalcohol in het reser­voir. Neem tijdens deze procedure het vernevelingsapparaat niet

minstens 10 minuten in het reservoir. Voor een betere desin­fectie schudt u het apparaat licht heen en weer. Na deze
behandeling giet u de ethylalcohol uit het reservoir.

• Herhaal deze procedure, maar ditmaal met water.

• Neem nu het vernevelingsapparaat van het reservoir. Hiervoor
draait u het vernevelingsapparaat in tegenwijzerszin en trekt u
het van de reservoiraanzet. Reinig ten slotte beide onderdelen
nogmaals met vers water.

• Na het inhaleren van zouthoudende oplossingen kunnen er zich
resten van de vloeistof in het fijne net van de nernevelaar als
kristallen afzetten en evt. het net beschadigen. Om dit te ver­mijden, raden we u dringen aan om het toestel kort, d.w.z. ca.
1 min., met helder water te gebruiken en hierdoor de zoutop­lossing uit te spoelen.

• Controleer altijd of het vernevelingsapparaat en het reservoir
goed doorgedroogd zijn.

• Indien er zich resten van medicinale oplossingen of veront­reinigingen op de goudkleurige contacten van het toestel en
het vernevelingsapparaat bevinden, gebruikt u bij de reiniging
een in ethylalcohol gedoopt wattenstaafje.

Dit apparaat mag niet samen met het huishoudelijk afval worden
aangeboden. Iedere consument is verplicht, alle elektrische of
elektronische apparaten, ongeacht of die schadelijke stoffen
bevatten of niet, bij een milieudepot in zijn stad of bij de hande­laar af te geven, zodat ze op een milieuvriendelijke manier
kunnen worden verwijderd. Haal de batterijen uit het apparaat
voordat u het apparaat ver-wijdert. Gooi gebruikte batterijen niet
bij het huisvuil, maar breng deze naar de daarvoor bestemde
afvalverwerking of lever deze in bij een speciaal daarvoor
bestemd inzamelstation bij de supermarkt of elektrawinkelier.

5 Garantie

Garantie en
reparatie­voorwaarden

Wendt u zich voor garantiegevallen altijd tot uw leverancier of tot
onze klantendienst. Moet u het apparaat opsturen, stuur het dan
samen met de klacht en een kopie van de aankoopbon naar onze
klantendienst.

Voor garantie gelden de volgende voorwaarden:

1. Voor de producten van MEDISANA geldt een garantietermijn
van drie jaar vanaf de datum van aankoop. Deze kan door
middel van de verkoopbon of factuur worden aangetoond.

2. Alle klachten, die het gevolg zijn van materiaal- en/of
fabricagefouten worden binnen de garantietermijn kosteloos
verholpen.

3. Een geval van garantie leidt niet tot automatische verlenging
van de garantietermijn, noch voor het apparaat zelf noch voor
de vervangbare onderdelen.

4. Uitgesloten van garantie zijn:
a. Alle schade die ontstaan is door ondeskundige behandeling,

b.v. het niet op de juiste wijze volgen van de gebruiks­aanwijzing

b. Beschadigingen, die zijn ontstaan door reparaties door de

Ostaessasi Ultraääni-inhalaattori USC:n olet hankkinut MEDISANA-
laatutuotteen. Jotta saavuttaisit halutun tuloksen ja sinulla olisi
pitkään iloa MEDISANA-inhalaattoristasi, suosittelemme, että
luet seuraavat käyttö- ja huolto-ohjeet huolellisesti läpi.

Tarkasta ensin, että laite on täydellinen eikä siinä ole mitään
vaurioita. Jos sinulla on kysymyksiä, älä ota laitetta käyttöön, vaan
käänny kauppiaasi tai huoltoliikkeen puoleen.
Pakkauksesta pitää löytyä:

VAROITUS

Hengitysteiden tai keuhkojen sairaudet ovat usein pitkäkestoisia,
kivuliaita ja elämää rajottavia. Oikea-aikaiset, tehokkaat hoidot,
kuten esimerkiksi aerosoleilla suoritettava inhalaatiohoito, voivat
tukea ja auttaa näissä sairauksissa. Aerosoliksi kutsutaan kaasun
ja hiukkasten seosta, luonnossa esiintyvä esimerkki tästä on sumu.
Aerosoliterapiassa lääkkeet muunnetaan „ilmankantavaan“
muotoon (esim. sumutetaan) ja hengitetään sisään. Tämän
hoidon suurena etuna (esimerkiksi tablettien ottamisen
vastakohtana) on, että lääke saatetaan suoraan sinne, missä sen
tulisi vaikuttaa (suun, nenän ja nielun kautta keuhkoihin), sen
kiertämättä muiden elinten kautta.

1. Vaikutus seuraa huomattavasti nopeammin.

2. Muille elimille ei synny mitään (huomattavaa) vaikutusta tai

sivuvaikutusta.

Ultraäänitekniikka

Ultraäänisumuttimessa aerosoli synnytetään pietsosähköisen
kristallin värähtelyiden avulla. Sähköenergia muunnetaan siis
mekaanisiksi värähtelyiksi, jotka muodostavat pieniä pisaroita.
Ihanteellinen pisaroiden läpimitta on 1-5 µm (Sveitsin
keuhkoyhdistyksen keuhkosairauksiin käytettävästä aerosoli­hoidosta antamien suuntaviivojen mukaisesti). Vain pienen
läpimitan omaavat pisarat kykenevät tunkeutumaan ylempien ja
alempien hengitysteiden ahtaiden haaraumien läpi ja
kuljettamaan ja varastoimaan lääkeaineen sinne, missä sen tulisi
vaikuttaa.

OHJEITA

• Ennen jonkin lääkeaineen tai lääkevalmisteen käyttöä

sinun tulee selvittää lääkäriltä, soveltuuko tämä myös
sinulle, tai käytä ainoastaan niitä lääkeaineita/­valmisteita, jotka lääkärisi on sinulle määrännyt.

• Medisana ultraääni-inhalaattori USC soveltuu kaikkien

yleisten aerosolivalmisteiden inhalaatioon, lukuun
ottamatta:

- suspensioita (lääkeainecocktailit)

- liuoksia, joilla on korkea viskositeetti

- eteerisiä öljyjä

• Älä käytä eteerisiä öljyjä, koska nämä saattavat

vahingoittaa sumutuskalvoa!

• Käytä ainoastaan vesiliukoisia valmisteita/lääkeaineita

tai sellaisia, jotka on valmistettu alkoholipohjalle.

• Käytä inhalaatioaineen laimentamiseen ainoastaan

isotonisia keittosuolaliuoksia, koska joissakin
tapauksissa saatetaan muutoin laukaista
bronkospasmeja.

• Älä käytä mitään öljypohjaisia inhalaatioaineita.

• Suolapitoisten liuosten hengittämisen jälkeen tulee

laite huuhdella ja puhdistaa kohdan 4.2 (Puhdistus ja
hoito) mukaan.

Lisätarvikkeet

Laitetta ei ole tarkoitettu yhdistettäväksi muihin laitteisiin.
Käytä tässä laitteessa ainoastaan alkuperäisiä lisätarvikkeita, vain
tällöin on turvallinen toiminta taattua.
Käytä jokaiselle käyttäjälle omaa lisätarvikesarjaa keskinäisen
tartuttamisen tai haitallisten aineiden välittämisen estämiseksi.

Vuotovarmuus

Kun täytät inhalaationestettä vaikuttavan aineen säiliöön
huomioon, että sen saa täyttää vain maksimimerkinnän kohtaan
asti (8 ml). Suositeltu täyttömäärä on 2–8 ml.
Inhalaatiohoidon aikana voit kallistaa laitetta enintään 45°
kulmassa eteenpäin, taaksepäin tai sivuttain sumutuksen ja hoito­tuloksen kärsimättä.

MEDISANA USC on vuotovarma. Laitetta ei kuitenkaan saisi
ravistella, kun vaikuttavan aineen säiliö on täytetty, muuten neste
voi valua elektroniikkaan ja laite vaurioitua.

Automaattinen loppusammutus

Laitteessa on automaattinen poiskytkentä. Kun inhalaationeste on
käytetty alhaisimpaan määräänsä asti ja vaikuttavan aineen
säiliössä on vain hieman tai ei ollenkaan nestettä, kytkeytyy laite
pian itsestään pois.
Laitetta ei saa käyttää, kun vaikuttavan aineen säiliö
Laite sammuu automaattisesti myös, jos kallistuskulma 45 °
ylitetään jossain suunnassa.
