Mit dem Massagegerät IVM haben Sie ein Qualitätsprodukt von MEDISANA
erworben. Dieses Gerät ist für die Körpermassage, mit und ohne Wärmebehandlung, bestimmt.
Damit Sie den gewünschten Erfolg erzielen und recht lange Freude an Ihrem
MEDISANA Massagegerät haben, empfehlen wir Ihnen, die nachstehenden
Hinweise zum Ge brauch und zur Pflege sorgfältig zu lesen.
Lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung, insbesondere die
Sicherheitshinweise, sorgfältig durch, bevor Sie das Gerät
einsetzen und bewahren Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung für die
weitere Nutzung auf. Wenn Sie das Gerät an Dritte weitergeben,
geben Sie unbedingt diese Gebrauchsanweisung mit.
• Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur entsprechend seiner Bestimmung laut Gebrauchsanweisung.
•
Bevor Sie das Gerät an Ihre Stromversorgung anschließen, achten Sie darauf,
dass es ausgeschaltet ist und dass die auf dem Typenschild angegebene elektrische Spannung mit der Ihres Stromnetzes übereinstimmt.
•
Halten Sie das Netzkabel und das Gerät von Hitze, hei ßen Oberflächen,
Feuchtigkeit und Flüssigkeiten fern. Fassen Sie den Netzstecker oder den
Netzschalter niemals mit nassen bzw. feuchten Händen an oder wenn
Sie im Wasser stehen.
•
Elektrische Spannung führende Teile des Gerätes dürfen nicht mit Flüssigkeit
in Berührung kommen.
•
Greifen Sie nicht nach einem Gerät, das ins Wasser gefallen ist. Ziehen Sie
sofort den Netzstecker.
•
Das Gerät muss so angeschlossen werden, dass der Netzstecker frei zugänglich ist.
•
Ziehen Sie immer sofort nach der Benutzung den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.
•
Um das Gerät vom Stromnetz zu trennen, ziehen Sie niemals am Netzkabel,
sondern immer am Netzstecker!
•
Tragen, ziehen oder drehen Sie das Gerät nicht am Netzkabel.
•
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel nicht zur Stolperfalle wird. Es darf weder
geknickt, eingeklemmt, verdreht, noch über scharfe Kanten gezogen werden.
•
Besondere Sorgfalt ist notwendig, wenn das Gerät an, von oder in der Nähe
von Kindern, Kranken und hilflosen Personen verwendet wird.
•
Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht unbeaufsichtigt, wenn es ans Stromnetz angeschlossen ist. Es muss für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahrt werden.

• Massagen mit dem MEDISANA IVM ersetzen keine ärztlichen oder physiotherapeutischen Behandlungen.
•
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn Sie schwanger sind.
•
Personen mit einem Herzschrittmacher, künstlichen Gelenken oder elektronischen Implantaten sollten auf je den Fall vor Benutzung des Gerätes einen
Arzt zu Rate ziehen.
•
Sie dürfen das Gerät nicht verwenden, wenn Sie an einer oder mehreren der
folgenden Krankheiten oder Beschwerden leiden: Durchblutungsstörungen,
Krampfadern, offene Wunden, Prellungen, Hautrisse, Venenentzündungen
oder Thrombose.
•
Sollten Sie Schmerzen spüren oder die Massage als unangenehm empfinden,
brechen Sie die Behandlung ab und halten Sie Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt.
•
Überprüfen Sie das Gerät und das Netzkabel vor jeder Anwendung sorgfältig auf Schäden. Ein defektes Gerät darf nicht in Betrieb genommen werden.
•
Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn Beschädigungen am Gerät oder Kabelteilen sichtbar sind, wenn das Gerät nicht einwandfrei funktioniert und
wenn es herunter- oder ins Wasser gefallen war. Um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden, senden Sie das Gerät zur Reparatur an die Servicestelle.
•
Das Gerät ist nur für den privaten Gebrauch und nicht für gewerbliche
Zwecke bestimmt.
•
Benutzen Sie das Massagegerät nur entsprechend seiner Bestimmung laut
Gebrauchsanweisung.
•
Bei Zweckentfremdung erlischt der Garantieanspruch.
•
Halten Sie das Gerät von Regen und Nässe fern. Es darf nicht im Freien
betrieben werden.
•
Stellen, benutzen oder bewahren Sie das Gerät keinesfalls über Behältnissen
auf, die mit Wasser gefüllt sind, besonders nicht an Stellen, an denen es in
eine Wanne oder ein Duschbecken fallen oder gestoßen werden kann.
•
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht bei Sprühnebel aus Spraydosen oder dem
gleichzeitigen Einsatz von Sauerstoff.
•
Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht unter Decken oder Kissen. Decken Sie es
während des Betriebes auf keinen Fall ab.
•
Begrenzen Sie den Einsatz des Gerätes auf eine Dauer von max. 20 Minuten
und lassen Sie es vor einer erneuten Verwendung ca. 30 Minuten abkühlen.
•
Wenden Sie das Gerät nicht direkt am Kopf, auf Knochen oder Gelenken,
auf der Vorderseite des Halses, im Genital- oder Nierenbereich an.
•
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht vor dem Schlafengehen. Die Massage hat
eine anregende Wirkung und kann das Einschlafen hinauszögern.
•
Aus verständlichen Gründen kann der Hersteller nicht für Schäden aufkommen, die infolge von Nichtbeachtung der Gebrauchsanweisung verursacht
werden.
•
Wenn Sie das Massagegerät an Dritte weitergeben, geben Sie unbedingt
diese Gebrauchsanleitung mit.

•
Sie selbst dürfen an dem Gerät nur Reinigungsarbeiten ausführen. Um
Gefährdungen zu vermeiden, reparieren Sie niemals selbständig. Wenden
Sie sich an die Servicestelle.
•
Bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen, schalten Sie es aus, ziehen Sie immer den Netzstecker und lassen Sie es abkühlen. Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in
Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten.
•
Beachten Sie das Kapitel “Verschiedenes, 4.1 Reinigung und Pflege” auf
S. 5.
•
Reparieren Sie das Gerät nicht selbst, da dadurch jeglicher Garantieanspruch
erlischt. Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur von der Servicestelle durchführen.
•
Bewahren Sie das Gerät bis zum nächsten Gebrauch an einem sauberen und
trockenen Ort auf, idealerweise in der Originalverpackung.

Gebrauchsanweisung
Die Massage ist eine der ältesten Behandlungsmethoden überhaupt und
wichtiger Bestandteil der physikalischen Therapie. Durch mechanische Behandlung der äußeren Gewebeschichten des Körpers werden verspannte Muskeln
gelockert, die Durchblutung verbessert und die Geweberegeneration gefördert. Dadurch wirkt Massage anregend oder entspannend und kann auch Nerven- und Muskelschmerzen beseitigen.
Ein weiterer Effekt sind die positiven Wirkungen auf das Gefäßsystem, die
inneren Organe und den Stoffwechsel.
Man unterscheidet 5 klassische Massagemethoden: Streichmassage, Knet-,
Klopf- und Vibrationsmassage sowie Reibung/Klatschungen.
Darüber hinaus gibt es wichtige Massagetechniken wie die manuelle Lymphdrainage, Reflexzonenmassage, Unterwasser-Druckstrahlmassage, Bürstenmassage und Fingerdruckmassage (Shiatsu, Akupressur).
Das MEDISANA Massagegerät IVM funktioniert auf Basis der Vibrations-
massage. Dabei wird der Massagekopf mit hoher Frequenz in Schwingungen
versetzt, so dass eine Vibrationsbewegung entsteht, die auf die zu massierenden Körperstellen übertragen wird.
Wahlweise kann Infrarotlicht zugeschaltet oder auch unabhängig genutzt werden. Es wird über den Massagekopf abgestrahlt. Diese besondere Art der Wärmeanwendung beschleunigt die positive Massagewirkung. Der Massagekopf
wird dabei lediglich leicht erwärmt, aber nicht heiß.
Die einzigartige Kombination aus Intensivmassage und Wärmestrahlung
ermöglicht mit dem Massagerät IVM eine wirkungsvolle und entspannende
Anwendung.

Bevor Sie den Netzstecker einstecken, achten Sie darauf, dass das Gerät ausgeschaltet ist (Funktionsschalter in unterster Position “0“). Stecken Sie anschließend den Netzstecker in eine dafür vorgesehene Steckdose (230 V).
Schieben Sie den Funktionsschalter mit dem Daumen leicht nach oben, bis
er einrastet und die Vibration am Massagekopf spürbar ist.
Das Infrarotlicht kann wahlweise einzeln oder in Kombination mit der Vibrationsmassagefunktion eingeschaltet werden. Für eine Infrarotlichtbehandlung
ohne Vibrationsmassage schieben Sie den Funktionsschalter eine Stufe
weiter in Richtung Massagekopf . Die Vibration wird dadurch ausgeschaltet,
gleichzeitig leuchtet die Infrarotlichtquelle am Massagekopf auf.
Für eine kombinierte Vibrationsmassage- und Infrarotlicht-Anwendung
schieben Sie den Funktionsschalter in die oberste Position in Richtung
Massagekopf.
•
Sie können die Massage an sich selbst oder an einem Partner durchführen.
Schalten Sie das Gerät wie o.a. ein und führen Sie es auf die zu massierende
Körperzone. Üben Sie dabei keinen Druck aus, sondern legen Sie es nur
leicht auf den Körper auf. Die Massage wird allein durch die Vibration des
Gerätes hervorgerufen. Eine gleichzeitige Anwendung des Infrarotlichts verbessert den Massageeffekt. Konzentrieren Sie sich bei der Massage nicht zu
lange auf die selbe Körperstelle, sondern wechseln Sie den Massagebereich
häufiger während der Anwendung.
•
Sie können durch die Massagerichtung entscheiden, welchen Effekt Sie
erreichen wollen: Eine Massage in Richtung Herz entspannt, die Massage
vom Herzen weg regt an.
•
Bei der Durchführung von Ganzkörpermassagen beachten Sie die “Sicherheitshinweise”.
•
Eine Anwendung sollte nicht länger als 10 - 15 Minuten dauern. Wenden Sie
das Gerät regelmäßig an, damit sich die positive Wirkung einstellen kann.
•
Prinzipiell sollte die Anwendung immer angenehm sein. Wenn Sie Schmerzen spüren oder die Massage als unangenehm empfinden, brechen Sie die
Behandlung ab und halten Sie Rücksprache mit Ihrem Hausarzt.
•
Schalten Sie nach der Behandlung das Massagegerät aus, ziehen Sie den
Netzstecker und lassen Sie das Gerät abkühlen.
Schalten Sie das Gerät ab, indem Sie den Funktionsschalter in die Ausgangsposition “0“ zurück schieben. Wenn die Anwendung abgeschlossen ist,
ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.

Bitte wenden Sie sich im Garantiefall an Ihr Fachgeschäft oder direkt an die
Servicestelle. Sollten Sie das Gerät einschicken müssen, geben Sie bitte den
Defekt an und legen eine Kopie der Kaufquittung bei.
Es gelten dabei die folgenden Garantiebedingungen:
1. Auf MEDISANA Produkte wird ab Verkaufsdatum eine Garantie für drei
Jahre gewährt. Das Verkaufsdatum ist im Garantiefall durch die Kaufquittung oder Rechnung nachzuweisen.
2. Mängel infolge von Material- oder Fertigungsfehlern werden innerhalb der
Garantiezeit kostenlos beseitigt.
3. Durch eine Garantieleistung tritt keine Verlängerung der Garantiezeit,
weder für das Gerät noch für ausgewechselte Bauteile, ein.
4. Von der Garantie ausgeschlossen sind:
a. alle Schäden, die durch unsachgemäße Behandlung, z.B. durch Nicht-

This unit is intended for body massage with and without heat treatment.
To ensure that you are able to obtain the results you are looking for and can
enjoy using your MEDISANA massage device for a long time to come, we
recommend that you read carefully the following information about the use
and care of the device.

Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that

Massage is one of the oldest methods of treatment and an important part
of physiotherapy. The mechanical treatment of the outer tissues of the body
relaxes tense muscles, improves blood circulation and supports the regeneration of tissues. Massage is stimulating, relaxing and helps to eliminate pain of
the nerves and muscles.
Massage may also positively effect the vascular system, the inner organs and
metabolism.
There are five classic methods of massage: stroke massage, kneading, tapping
and vibrating massage as well as rubbing and slapping.
Furthermore, there are other important massage techniques such as manual
lymphatic drainage, reflexology, underwater pressure massage, brush massage
and finger pressure massage techniques (shiatsu, acupressure).
The MEDISANA IVM massager utilizes what is known as vibration massage,
whereby the massage head is subjected to high-frequency oscillation, giving
rise to a vibrating motion, which is transferred to the parts of the body being
massaged.
It also features an optional infra-red function, emitted through the massage
head, which can be activated either independently or together with massage.
This special form of heat treatment accelerates the positive effects of the
massage. When this is activated, the massage head will warm up slightly, but
not actually get hot.
The unique combination of intensive massage and heat treatment allows the
IVM massager to offer effective and relaxing therapy.

Ensure that the appliance is switched off (function selector switch is in the
lowest position “0“) before plugging into the mains. Then plug into an appropriate socket (230 V).
Use your thumb to gently push the selector switch upwards until it clicks
into place and you can feel the massage head vibrate.
The infra-red function can be activated separately or in combination with the
vibration massage function. For infra-red treatment without vibration massage,
push the function selector switch one position closer to the massage head
to switch off vibration and at the same time activate the infra-red source
on the massage head.
For combined vibration massage and infra-red treatment push the function
selector switch towards the massage head to the uppermost position.
•
You can give yourself or a partner a massage. Switch the unit on as
described above and apply to the part of body to be massaged. Do not use
pressure; just place it lightly on the body. The massage effect is brought
about by the vibration of the unit alone. Simultaneous use of the infra-red
function improves the effectiveness of the massage. Do not concentrate on
one side of the body for too long; rather change the area of massage frequently.
• Choosing the direction of the massage you can decide on the effect: a mas-
sage toward the heart relaxes, a massage away from the heart stimulates.
• For a full body massage, please refer to “Safety Information”.
•
Each session should not be more than 10 - 15 minutes. To ensure positive
results, please use the massager regularly.
• The application should feel pleasant. In case you experience pain or find the
massage disagreeable, please interrupt the session and consult your doctor.

After treatment, switch the massage device off, pull out the mains plug and
let the device cool down.
Switch off the unit by returning the function selector switch to its original
position “0“. When you have finished using the unit, unplug it from the mains
outlet.

from the mains outlet.
• The device should be cleaned using a soft, slightly dampened cloth.
• Do not use harsh cleaning agents or stiff brushes.

warranty. If you have to send in the unit, please enclose a copy of your
receipt and state what the defect is.
The following warranty terms apply:
1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of
purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be
proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge
within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the
unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-
observance of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or

Afin de profiter longtemps et avec succès de votre appareil de massage
MEDISANA, nous vous recommandons de lire attentivement les remarques
suivantes concernant son utilisation et son entretien.
Lisez attentivement le mode d’emploi, et en particulier les
consignes de sécurité, avant d’utiliser l’appareil. Conservez bien
ce mode d’emploi. Vous pourriez en avoir besoin par la suite.
Lorsque vous remettez l’appareil à un tiers, mettez-lui
impérativement ce mode d’emploi à disposition.
• Utilisez l’appareil conformément à sa destination telle que définie dans la notice

Mode d'emploi
Le massage est une des plus anciennes méthodes thérapeutiques et un composant important de la physiothérapie. Le traitement mécanique des couches
extérieures du corps assouplit les muscles crispés, améliore la circulation
sanguine et stimule la régénération des tissus. Le massage exerce ainsi un effet
stimulant ou relaxant et il peut apaiser les névralgies et les douleurs musculaires.
Les effets positifs sur le système vasculaire, les organes internes et le métabolisme constituent un autre résultat du massage.
On distingue 5 méthodes de massage classiques: effleurage, pétrissage, tapotement, vibration, ainsi que friction et battages.
Il existe en outre d’importantes techniques de massage telles que le drainage
lymphatique manuel, le massage des zones réflexes, le massage sous l’eau par
jet d’eau sous pression, le massage à la brosse et le massage par pression des
doigts (shiatsu, accupression).
L'appareil de massage IVM MEDISANA fonctionne sur la base d'un massage
par vibration. La tête de massage oscille à une cadence élevée de manière à
produire un mouvement vibrant, lequel est transmis aux zones du corps que
vous désirer masser.
La lumière infrarouge peut au choix être ajoutée ou utilisée séparément. Elle
est émise au dessus de la tête de massage. Cette méthode particulière d'application de chaleur accélère les effets bénéfiques du massage. La tête de
massage est alors légèrement échauffée, sans pour autant devenir très chaude.
La combinaison unique du massage profond et de la chaleur de l'appareil de
massage IVM permet d'obtenir une application efficace et relaxante.

Avant de brancher la fiche dans la prise, assurez-vous que l’appareil est
éteint (sélecteur est sur sa position la plus basse “0“). Branchez ensuite la
fiche dans une prise de courant adaptée (230 V).
Légèrement pousser le sélecteur avec le pouce vers le haut jusqu'à ce qu'il
s'enclenche et que la vibration de la tête de massage démarre.
La lumière infrarouge peut au choix être utilisé seule ou combinée à la fonction
de massage par vibration. Si vous désirez un traitement de lumière infrarouge
sans massage, déplacer le sélecteur un cran plus haut. La vibration est alors
désactivée et la lampe infrarouge de la tête de massage s'allume.
Si vous désirez une application combinée de massage vibrant et de lumière
infrarouge, remontez le sélecteur au dernier cran.
•
Vous pouvez pratiquer le massage sur vous même ou sur une autre personne. Mettez l’appareil en marche comme indiqué ci-dessus et amenez-le
sur la zone du corps à masser. N’exercez aucune pression, mais posez
simplement l’appareil sur le corps. Le massage s'effectue uniquement par
les vibrations de l'appareil. L'application simultanée de lumière infrarouge
améliore l'effet du massage. Ne vous concentrez pas trop longtemps sur la
même zone du corps, mais changez fréquemment de zone pendant l’utilisation.
• Vous pouvez décider quel effet vous voulez obtenir via la direction du massage: un massage dans la direction du cœur relaxe, tandis qu’un massage en
s’éloignant du cœur stimule.
• Pour effectuer des massages du corps entier, veuillez respecter les “Consignes de sécurité”.
•
Une application ne doit pas durer plus de 10 à 15 minutes. Appliquez
l’appareil régulièrement, afin que l’action positive puisse s’exercer.
• En principe, l’utilisation doit toujours être agréable. Si vous éprouvez de la
douleur ou si le massage est ressenti comme désagréable, veuillez arrêter le
traitement et parlez en avec votre médecin de famille.
•
Après la séance, débranchez la fiche secteur et laissez l’appareil refroidir.
Pour éteindre l'appareil, replacer le sélecteur dans sa position initiale “0“.
