named STB. There are three ways of setup: enter brand code, automatic search, manual search. Additionally if not all buttons are working you can use learn function to setup buttons from original remote.
A. Set up by Brand Code
1. Switch on the device for which you wish to use the remote control (for instance TV set).
2. Find the code number of your device brand in the code list (for instance Lifetec 0050) from the relevant device group (TV ).
3. Press and hold the device button (for instance TV) for three seconds. Release the device button as soon as LED lights up, now it is in set up mode.
4. Enter the 4-digit device code (for instance 0050 for Lifetec TV) within 10 seconds. If an entry is not made within 10 seconds, the set- up mode is automatically terminated.
5. The LED turns off if the remote accepts the code. If the LED fl ashes two times, that means the code may be wrong, and the remote control remains in set-up mode, enter the correct code from the list again.
6. Check the function of the buttons on the remote control. If it does not function correctly, try another 4-digit device code (for instance 0057…) from the list under the same brand. Repeat steps 3 to 6 until all the basic functions operate correctly.
Note! Exit the set-up mode by pressing the device button, or the set-up mode is automatically terminated if no button is pressed for 10 seconds.
B. Set up by Automatic Search
If setting up by brand name and codes is not successful, or you can not fi nd your brand name in the code list, you can use the Automatic Search function to fi nd the correct code for your remote control.
1. Switch on the device that you like to control. If it is a VCR, insert a cassette.
2. Point the remote control at your device. Press the device button (for instance TV) for three seconds, the LED turns on, keep pressing the device button for about two seconds until the LED starts fl ashing, that means it is in Automatic Search now and you can release the device button.
3. The “Volume+” signal is automatically transmitted from the remote control to the device (code scan). As soon as the volume of the device (for instance TV) changes, immediately press the device key to stop the Automatic Search.
4. If the device you are searching for is a CD player, Tuner, TAPE, or AUX, a power signal is automatically transmitted from the remote control to the device. As soon as the device turns off , press the device key to stop the Search. You need to turn on the device by pressing the Power button before you can check the functions of the other buttons.

5. Check the functions of the other buttons on the remote control. If none of the buttons function (i.e. the search cannot be stopped at the correct time) or the majority of the buttons do not function correctly, restart the search (see steps 2 to 4) to fi nd a suitable code. If the majority of the buttons function correctly, set- up has been successful. Re-press the device button (for instance TV) to save the code and to terminate the set-up mode.
C. Set up by Manual Search
If setting up with brand name and codes is unsuccessful, you can also use the “Manual Search” to fi nd the correct code for operating your device.
1. Switch on the device that you like to control. If it is a VCR, please insert a cassette.
2. Point the remote control at the device. Press and hold the device button (for instance TV) for 3 seconds. The LED lights up and the remote is in manual set-up mode, release the device button now.
Press the “Volume+” button approx. every 1.5 seconds.
3.
4. As soon as the volume of the device (for instance TV) changes or the device turns off , check whether the other buttons on the remote control function correctly. If the majority of the buttons does not function correctly, press the Volume+ approx. every
1.5 seconds to initiate the reactive code ( manual search is continued, see step 3 to 4). If the majority of the buttons on the remote control functions correctly, save the code by pressing the device button (for instance TV) to terminate the manual search.
Note: The Manual Search is automatically terminated if no entry occurs during a 30 seconds period.
D. Setup By Using The Learning Function
The Learning Function is used to extend the preprogrammed codes by transferring codes from your existing remote control to the keyboard remote. The standard code list already provides you with the most important functions, but it is possible to add a few additional functions. A fully functional original remote control is required for the keyboard remote to learn programming. Please use fresh batteries for both the keyboard remote and the original remote control.
1. Press and hold the ‘Device’ button which you want to learn (for instance DVD), and press the ‘Learn’ button at the same time. When the LED turns on then release both keys. Now the remote control is in Learning Mode for codes.
2. Press and release the target button on your keyboard remote that you want to learn (for instancePOWER). The LED will start to fl ash. (If no button is pressed within 14 seconds, Learning Mode will exit automatically.)
3.
Press the button (For example, power button) on your original remote control. When you see the LED on your new universal remote control fl ash three times and stop, it means the device has accepted the new code and it can now start to learn another new code from the original remote. (If no button is pressed within 14 seconds, it will exit learning mode automatically and you will need to restart from step 1.)
4. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to learn another code from the original remote control.
5. When you fi nish learning all the buttons that you want the keyboard remote to know, press the ‘Learn’ button to store all commands you have learned from the original remote and to exit Learning mode.
6. Press the ‘TV’ button and ‘Number 6’ at the same time to delete all the codes you have learned for all devices.
Note:
1. Point the IR transmitter of the original remote control to face the IR receiver of the keyboard remote with approximately 30mm between them. Hold the two remotes in a straight line to make the learning process more accurate.
2. When you cannot choose any more buttons on the new universal remote control for learning, it means the memory is full.
