If using the scale to weigh infants, the scale must be assembled before use. Follow these directions for assembly.
1. Remove Fixing Screws from Scale Housing.

Before Use
1. Choose a location for the scale. When lifting or moving the scale, be sure to lift the
entire scale from the bottom of the Scale Housing, not the Baby Basket. To get an accurate weight, place the scale away from air conditioning and heat vents and direct sunlight. Place the scale on a stable, flat, level surface. NEITHER THE
BABY BASKET OR SCALE HOUSING SHOULD HANG OVER THE EDGE OF ANY SURFACE.
2. Check the calibration of the scale following the instructions provided in the Service
Section of this manual.
ZERO FUNCTION
The BabyChecker also has the feature of allowing a blanket, towel or other type of
padding or protection to be placed on the scale before weighing and the weight of this piece being subtracted from the weight calculation.
To use this feature, place the towel, etc. on the Baby Basket or scale housing and
then press the Start/Zero switch.
WEIGHING INFANTS
WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE INFANTS UNATTENDED. A FALL FROM THE SCALE COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
Before weighing infants, make sure the Baby Basket has been attached securely to the
Scale Housing. The Baby Basket has been designed to accept weights up to 20 pounds or 10 kilograms. For heavier babies, read the section which follows on “Weighing Toddlers”.
The figures below indicate the method of the display.

WEIGHING TODDLERS
The unique design of the BabyChecker allows the Baby Basket to be removed and

grams, as you prefer.

TIPS FOR USING THE BABYCHECKER
When pressing the Start/Zero Button, do not touch any other part of the scale.
Touching other parts might cause the scale to display negative figures such as –0.04 or –0.10, therefore making the accuracy of the weight calculation invalid.
When lifting or moving the scale, be sure to lift the entire scale from the bottom of
the Scale Housing, not the Baby Basket.
Do not put water on the scale or place the scale in a humid location.
The scale is a precision instrument. Do not drop it, jump on it, or drop a heavy
object onto its surface.
Do not dismantle the scale.
CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The scale is a precision instrument and specially adjusted and manufactured for accu-
rate measuring. Use of the scale following these instructions is important.
1. Do not dismantle the Scale Housing.
2. The scale should not be operated in the presence of external vibration or direct
sunshine.
3. Rapid change of ambient temperature may affect the accuracy of the scale for up to
2 hours.
4. Do not spill water or chemical liquid on or in the Scale Housing. Periodically, wipe
the scale with a damp cloth. The Baby Basket should be cleaned using Cavicide®or another non–staining germicidal cleaner.
5. Keep the scale away from any heating appliances (oven, stoves, etc.).
6. Keep the unit in a cool, dustless and dry environment and remove batteries during
extended storage.
7. When in storage, do not put anything on the Baby Basket.
