If you do not understand any of the warnings or have any questions, please contact Customer Service at www.mepower.com.
contraindications
DO NOT use if you have epilepsy or light induced seizures or chronic migraines. The energy flashes might cause severe headaches and migraines.
DO NOT use if you have an active implant, such as a pacemaker, incontinence device, insulin pump, etc. Use of the sleek system has not been tested in individuals with active implants, and, therefore, the effects are unknown.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. The sleek should not be used by anyone or on anyone under the age of 18.
The use of the sleek on or by children has not been studied and could result in serious injury.
warnings
DO NOT use if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant (conceiving) or breastfeeding. The sleek has not been tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Hormonal changes could increase skin sensitivity and the risk of skin injury.
DO NOT treat with the sleek immediately after or before an active tanning session - in natural light, on a tanning bed or when using sunless tanning products. If you are not certain whether you are tanning or
sunburned it is recommended to do a skin sensitivity test (page 9) and wait 24 hours.
DO NOT use the sleek on areas that have been sunburned as this can make the skin more susceptible to injury.
DO NOT use directly on parts of your skin where you have tattoos, dark brown or black spots (such as large freckles, birthmarks or moles). These areas may absorb too much light energy which can injure the skin.
DO NOT use on the ears, neck, nipples, genitalia or around the anus. These areas may have more sensitive skin and using the sleek there may cause serious injury.
DO NOT use on or around the eyes, eyebrows or eyelashes. Doing so can cause permanent eye damage.

susceptible to injury. Consult your doctor.
DO NOT use if you have an active skin condition in the treatment area including acne, sores, psoriasis, eczema, sunburns, herpes simples, open wounds or a rash. These conditions can make the skin more sensitive to light and more susceptible to injury.
DO NOT use if you have a history of skin cancer or areas of potential skin malignancies. Use of the sleek system has not been tested in areas with skin cancer, and therefore, the effects are unknown.
DO NOT hold the light output window still over one spot on the skin and flash multiple light pulses on the skin. Doing so may generate too much heat, which can injure the skin.
DO NOT cover any ventilation slots during use, as they help to keep the device cool during operation. Covering the ventilation slots could result in device overheating.
DO NOT get the sleek damp or wet. DO NOT use the sleek while bathing or put it next to a tub or sink. DO NOT operate the sleek with a damaged plug or cord. DO NOT use the sleek if any parts show signs of damage. DO NOT open the outer covers of the sleek or touch any inner parts. DO NOT attempt to repair your sleek device. ALWAYS keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Failure to follow these
precautions can cause electrocution, electric shock or result in injury. DO NOT use the sleek in an environment where a spark could cause an
explosion, such as near a gas source.
possible side effects and skin reactions
Use of sleek could result in possible side effects. These reactions are rare and should resolve within a short time. However, every cosmetic treatment may involve some degree of risk.
With any of the reactions stated below, make sure to stop the treatment and to consult with your doctor: color or textural changes to the skin that may be permanent, substantial redness of the skin, itching of the treated area, acne outbreak, blistering or burning of the skin, permanent scarring or loss of skin tissue or if unusual pain occurs.
skin sensitivity test
If you are using sleek for the first time or in new body area, choose a small area close to the area you intend to treat, for the purpose of performing a skin sensitivity test. Use the LOW level. Follow the treatment instructions below but make sure to emit only 2-3 pulses. After the skin test, wait 30 minutes and check your skin for any reaction. If after 30 minutes the skin appears normal, then you are ready to perform a full treatment.
treatment
step 1: prepare your skin
Remove hair from the area you wish to treat by shaving, waxing, or epilating. For lighter hair, it is recommended that you wax, tweeze or epilate immediately prior to using the device. Skin should be clean and dry.

step 2: turn on your device
Tap the power button on the base unit. Lights will illuminate.
step 3: select your energy level
Select the appropriate elōs energy level (Low, Medium, or High) by tapping the elōs button until the desired energy level is illuminated. In order to return to the Low setting, you must tap the button again. It is recommended to start on Low and move to a higher energy level if you feel comfortable.
Remove applicator from the base and press the applicator’s activation button located on the top of the applicator. You will hear the fan inside the applicator.
step 4: treatment
Gently place the applicator on your skin, so that the two silver sensor bars are in complete contact with the skin. Flashes of light will begin to emit. Slowly glide the applicator over the area you are treating in one continuous motion covering the area 2-3x. For smaller areas, it is recommended to stamp instead of glide.
Note: The applicator will not emit pulses of energy unless both silver sensor bars are touching the skin.
step 5: treatment complete
Once you have finished, press the activation button
on the applicator and place on the device base. Turn off the system by touching the power button on the base unit. The light indicator should turn from green to orange.
DO NOT hold the applicator window still over one spot on the skin and flash multiple light pulses on the same spot on the skin. Doing so may cause too much heat to build up and may result in skin swelling, blisters, or temporary or permanent changes in the color of your skin. After each flash move the applicator to a different skin spot.
Wait for at least 10 seconds before returning to a previously treated skin spot.
tips
When using the system on difficult to treat areas (e.g. underarm) apply the applicator in 2 directions — left/right and up/down for full coverage.
You can treat all body and facial areas during the same treatment session.
guidelines for treatments
It is normal to still see hairs after the first few treatments. For best results the treatments should be performed once a week for the first 7 times. Performing additional monthly maintenance treatments after the first 7 treatments will help your hair removal results last longer.
Note: Facial areas can be treated more frequently of up to 2-3 times per week for 7 weeks if desired. Additional treatments may be needed for optimal results.
