1. Algemeen

1.1 Transport en installatie

• Transporteer de Luna Diamond rechtopstaand of in moeilijke gevallen onder een
hoek van 45°.

• De transporthandvatten worden bevestigd in de voorziene gleuven aan de zijkant
van de Luna Diamond . ( foto 1)

• Er is een set draaibare en een set vaste wielen met rubberen bandjes in optie te ver­krijgen. Dit voor het eenvoudige transport op de werf en langs trappen.

• Controleer de goede werking van de liftdeur alvorens de Luna DIAMOND in te
bouwen.

1.2 Brandstoffen

1.2.1 Hout

De kwaliteit van het hout is uiterst belangrijk voor een optimale werking van de haard
( rendement, zuiver glas ) Hout van goede kwaliteit is hout dat minstens gedurende 2
jaar onder een verlucht afdak gedroogd heeft ( +/- 18% vochtgehalte). Vochtig hout
geeft minder warmte af en vervuilt de haard en de schoorsteen.
U kunt ook gebruik maken van briketten (vergelijkbaar met de werking van hout), en
dit best in combinatie met hout, enkel branden met briketten kunnen te hoge
temperatuur veroorzaken.
Leg nooit het vuur vol met hout, want indien de schouw te veel trekt kunnen te hoge
temperaturen ontstaan. Schade door overdreven temperaturen vallen niet onder ga­rantie.

1.2.2 Verboden brandstoffen

Het gebruik van behandeld hout (geverfd, enz..) en allerhande huisafval, die
schadelijke gassen kunnen verspreiden, zijn VERBODEN en ANNULEERT HET RECHT
OP DE WAARBORG. Het gebruik van vloeibare brandstoffen (benzine,...) is evenzeer
verboden.

1. General

1.1 Transport and installation

• Transport the Luna in an upright position, or, in encumbering circumstances, at an angle of 45°.

• The handles for transportation purposes have been attached inside the slots provided on the sides
of the Luna (see Pic.1)

• A set of rubber straps that can be turned and a set of fixed
rubber straps are available as an option.
This is to facilitate transport on-site and on the stairs.

• Check to see that the lifting door functions properly before
fitting the Luna DIAMOND.

1.2 Fuel

1.2.1 Wood

The quality of the wood is extremely important for the optimal functioning of the stove (output, clear
glass, etc.). Good quality wood is wood that has been dried under an aerated shelter for at least 2
years (+ 18% moisture content). Damp wood gives off less heat and dirties the stove and the chimney.
You can also use briquettes (the effect is comparable with that of wood), and it is best to use them in
combination with wood because burning only briquettes makes the temperature too high.
Never fill the stove with wood because when the chimney draws too much, it can make the tempe­rature too high. Damage as a result of excessive temperature is not under guarantee. 3 wooden logs

are equal to 12 kW.

1.2.2 Forbidden fuel

The use of treated wood (painted, etc.) and all types of household waste, which can disperse hazar­dous gases, is FORBIDDEN and CANCELS OUT ANY CLAIM ON THE GUARANTEE. The use of fluid

fuel (petrol, etc.) is also forbidden.

1.3 Aanmaak van het vuur

• Open het raam met de pook of met afstandsbediening ( optie zie pag.13 ).

• Verfrommel vier à vijf krantenpapieren en plaats ze in de
verbrandingskamers. Indien de verbrandingskamer van uw kachel nogal
groot is, dan dient u wat meer papier te gebruiken.

• Plaats kleine stukken hout of aanmaakblokjes.

• Steek het vuur aan.

• Laat de deur op een kiertje (+/- 3 cm) staan om een turbo lucht- stroom te
bekomen die het vuur aanwakkert.

• Na de goede verbranding van het aanmaakhout kunnen de houtblokken
geplaatst worden. Na de inwerktijd van deze, kan het venster gesloten
worden. Zorg ervoor dat het hout goed verdeeld is over de breedte van de
haard.

Attention :

It is not necessary to overload the fireplace with wood.
1 kg dry wood gives a 4 kW power.
Example : a fireplace with a 78% return gives a power for about 4kw x 78% =
+/- 3 kW for 1 kg dry wood.
If you want a power of +/-12 kW , it is just enough to put 4 kg wood in the
fireplace. This is like two normal pieces of wood.
Be carefull not to use palletwood (this gives an enormous heat) for continuous
heating. This can lead to fire hazard. We are not responsible for the bad use
of the fireplaces and any consequence for not following this guideline.

Opgelet

Het heeft geen zin de haard te overladen met hout. Hou er rekening mee
dat 1 kg droog hout een vermogen geeft van 4 kW.
Voorbeeld : met een rendement van +/-78% geeft dit dus een ver- mogen
van 4kW x 78% = +/- 3 kW per kg droog hout.
Indien men 12 kW wilt bereiken, hoeft men dus 4 kg hout in de haard te
laten branden ( dit komt overeen met 2 houtblok-ken van normale maat).
Palethout en ander afvalhout hebben een enorm brandvermogen. Dit
hout kan voor oververhitting zorgen en kan leiden tot brandgevaar. Wij
zijn niet verantwoordelijk voor het slecht gebruik van onze haarden en
het niet naleven van deze richtlijnen ( ZIE GARANTIE ).

1.3 Starting the fire

• Open the window (pic.3).

• Put a bed of tinder (paper or firelighters) with a little kindling (small twigs or
pieces of wood) in the stove and light the tinder.

• Leave the door slightly ajar (+ 3 cm) to get a turbo stream of air that will make
the kindling catch fire.

•After the kindling has caught fire and burns well, the logs may be placed on
the fire. After the logs have caught fire, the window may be shut.

2. Installatie

Controleer eerst de haard vooraleer u met de plaatsing begint.

2.1 Installatiehandelingen

Uw leverancier is de specialist die M-design heeft uitgekozen om hem in uw regio te
vertegenwoordigen. Voor uw veiligheid en Uw voldoening raden wij U aan hem de
realisatie van de installatie toe te vertrouwen. Het rookkanaal dient geïnstalleerd te
worden volgens de plaatselijk geldende richtlijnen. Indien U toch overweegt de werken
individueel uit te voeren raden wij U aan :

• Zich naar de termen van onze waarborgovereenkomsten te verwijzen.

• Bij Uw leverancier raad te vragen.

2.2 Positioneren van de haard

Plaats de haard op een stabiel ondergrond en maak gebruik van de stelvoeten
( fig.1) om de hoogte te regelen. Maak bout en moer los.

Regeling van de hoogte van het vuur van Min tot Max : De voeten kunnen op
twee manieren geregeld worden. Eén regeling per 5 cm ( zie fig 1 ) en een fijne
regeling via de schroefdraad ( fig. 2 ) . Dankzij deze fijne regeling kan u het
toestel perfect pas zetten. De minimale hoogte van vloer tot onderkant haard
is 3,5 cm ( A min). De minimale hoogte “C min” is dan 18 cm gemeten vanaf de
vloer tot de onderkant van de onderlat ( fig. 3 ). De maximale hoogte vanaf de
vloer tot onderkant haard is 45 cm.

Plaats het toestel nooit rechtsteeks op de grond , dit om
een luchtcirculatie rond het vuur toe te laten.

2. Installation

After controlling the fireplace you can install the stove :

2.1 Actions to be taken upon installation

Your supplier is the specialist who chose to represent M-design in your area. For your
own safety and satisfaction, we advise you to entrust him with the installation. The ap­pliance has to be installed according to certain prescribed rules and local regulations.
Please ensure installation comlies with UK Building Regulations and HETAS, and is in­stalled by a competent person (HETAS approved) However, if you decide to carry out
the work on your own, we advise you to do the following:

• Refer to the terms and conditions of our contract of guarantee.

• Ask your supplier for advice.

2.2 Positioning the fireplace :

Place the fireplace on a stable surface using the adjustable feet. Adjust the height of the
fireplace by turning the bolt ( pic 1 )

Regulating the height of the appliance :
This can be made in two ways. A regulation by 8 times 5 cm ( pic. 1 ) and a fine regula­tion by screw ( pic.2 ). The minimal height as from ground to the 4th side frame is 3,5 cm
( A min ). The minimal height “C min” will be 18 cm, measured as from the ground to 4th
side frame ( pic.3 ). The maximal height as from the ground to the 4th side frame is 45 cm.

The stove must not be placed directly on the floor to allow natural convection.
The aperture for the air supply ( IN ) is situated underneath the appliances.

2.3. Isolatie en afwerking

Nu de installatie voltooid is, kan het toestel worden ingebouwd. Het inbouwgedeel­te van de haard wordt erg warm. Zorg daarom dat de haard niet te strak inge­bouwd wordt, maar dat er ruimte is om warme lucht af te voeren. Wij raden het
gebruik van de M-design isolatiekit aan om het toestel keramisch te isoleren .
Andere isolatiematerialen zijn ten strengste afgeraden. Tevens mogen geen brand­bare materialen voor de afwerking gebruikt worden.

Een heel belangrijk punt bij het opstellen van de LUNA, is dat er rekening moet
gehouden worden met de afstand van de haard t.o.v. de afwerking ( marmer, gy-

proc, ....) . Op die manier vermijdt men dat het toestel volledig ingesloten is aan de

voorzijde en dat de lucht vrij kan circuleren rond het vuur.

2.3. Insulation and finishing

Once installation is complete, the appliance can be fitted. Once you have checked everything,
you can perform the final insulating and finishing operations. The built-in part of the furnace
tends to be very warm. Please check that the furnace is not too narrowly fitted and that there
is adequate space for the elimination of hot air. For insulation of the furnace, we advise you
to use M Design insulating plates. You are advised against using any other insulation product.
Inflammable materials as well may not be used for the finishing.

A very essential point when setting up the Luna Diamond is that the distance has to be respec­ted inbetween fireplace and the finishing material for the mantlepiece such as marble, gipsum,...
For this, a small bent metal sheet that is provided on the fireplace ( pic.1 ) , is to be used as the
minimal reference for the distance. The finishing frame can only ga as far as this meteal sheet (
pic.2 ). Don’t remove this ( pic.3 ) ! This allows you to take out the 4th side frame and to let the

furnace during combustion, an interstice of at least 5 mm must be provided on each
side of the appliance. The masonry must not lean against the furnace.

2.4 Verbrandingsluchttoevoer

Elke verbranding verbruikt lucht. In het geval van een thermische afgeslo­ten kamer is een aanvullende luchttoevoer noodzakelijk. In elk geval moet
men vermijden een onderdruk in de kamer te scheppen. Als de aanwezig­heid van een dampkap in een aanpalende kamer absoluut noodzakelijk
blijkt, zal een voldoende luchttoevoer voorzien worden om elke onderdruk
te vermijden ( kijk eveneens na of de dampkap voorzien is van een verse
luchttoevoer )
Om een goede werking van de haard te hebben , moet een verse luchttoe­voer voorzien worden van buiten, vanuit een geventileerde schacht of een
geventileerd lokaal (kelder).

Bij de Luna DIAMOND haarden wordt de verse lucht voor de verbranding recht­streeks aangevoerd van buiten via een flexibel aangesloten op één van de twee in­gangen. Deze zijn voorzien aan de linker en rechterzijde onder het toestel. Dankzij
dit uniek systeem is de lucht , nodig voor de verbranding, volledig gescheiden van
de convectie luchtstroom in de leefkamer.
De haard wordt altijd geleverd met één open verse luchaansluiting. Indien u wilt
veranderen, hoeft u enkel de plaat los te vijzen aan waar u wilt aansluiten en deze
op de andere opening terug te plaatsen. Indien onderaan niet aangelsoten kan
worden, moet in optie een adaptor besteld worden.

2.4 Air supply for combustion

Every form of combustion uses air. In the case of a thermally sealed room supplemen­tary air supply is essential. One must at all times avoid creating under-pressure in the
room. If a cooking hood appears to be absolutely essential in the adjoining room,
sufficient air supply will have to be provided to avoid every form of under-pressure.
You need an airlet with dia. 150mm coming from outside, or a ventilated shelter. This
air inlet you have to connect to the Luna.

With the Luna Diamond, the fresh air for combustion is supplied directly from outside
through a flexible ( dia. 150mm ) that is connected to one of the 4 entrances that
are provided on the left, right or lower side of the fireplace ( pic. 4 & 5 ) . Use for this
purpose one of five connection pieces ( pic. 6 & 7 )

Thanks to this new system, the air that is required for combustion is completely sepa­rated from the convection air stream in the ro om ( see further at point 2.3. Convec­tion current ).
The appliance is always delivered with an open air inlet at the left side. If you want
to change, you can remove the plate on the side you wish to connect and replace
the plate on the side that was open before.

2.5 Convectiestroming

2.5.1 Natuurlijke convectie

Het is verplicht 2 of 4 warmeluchtuitgangen te openen aan de bovenkant van het
toestel. 2 is voldoende als u met een ventilator werkt ( optie ) en 4 openingen indien
geen ventilator voorzien wordt . Indien het metselwerk niet toelaat de bovenste con­vectiegaten te gebruiken, kan men de twee bovenste, zijdelingse openingen gebrui­ken. In dit geval moet een ventilator geplaatst worden.
Om natuurlijke convectie toe te laten langs de onderzijde wordt de haard op min.
20 mm van de grond geplaatst (bij plaatsing op de grond). Voor de ingang van de
lucht (ventilatie), moet een doorgang van min. 4 dm² zonder filter in het metselwerk
voorzien zijn, of van min. 6 dm² mét een stoffilter.
(Let op: rekening houden met de coëfficiënt van de doorgang van de roosters).

De ingangen van de verse lucht bevinden zich aan de achterzijde, linker en rech­terzijde van het toestel en onder het toestel, zijnde de opening voorzien voor de
ventilator .

2.5.2 Convectie door ventilator (optie)

Het is verplicht om min. 2 warmeluchtuitgangen te openen. Het is noodzakelijk de
luchttoevoer en -uitgangen in het metselwerk correct te scheiden. Sommige isola­tiematerialen worden met de tijd aangetast, het is noodzakelijk ze van de ventilatie­luchttoevoer te scheiden, anders loopt men het risico dat ze opgezogen worden en
door het huis gediffuseerd worden. Het is dus ook meest aan te raden vaste isolatie­platen te gebruiken. (Promatec..). De ventilator kan zowel vanbuiten als langs binnen
gemonteerd worden, wat ons de mogelijkheid geeft van zelfs later een ventilator te
plaatsen.

2.5.3 Warmeluchtkanalen

Thermisch geïsoleerde kanalen zijn noodzakelijk voor de optimale werking van het
toestel (deze veroorzaken een ‘trek’ voor de convectielucht). Het maximum aantal
kanalen gebruiken (min.2), verbetert het rendement en het geluid (dat door de ver­plaatsing voortgebracht wordt). Voor de installatie van deze kanalen, best om eerst
min 1 m. verticaal naar boven te gaan om daarna een richtingsverandering door te
voeren, buig vrij breed om en beperk de richtingsveranderingen. Vermijd het gebruik
van uitgangsroosters met een kleine doorlaat, want de veroorzaakte snelheidsverlie­zen verminderen de doeltreffendheid van de warmeluchtuitlaten.
M-design heeft hiervoor ideale warme luchtroosters ontwikkeld met vele voordelen.

2.5 Convection current

2.5.1 Natural convection

It is compulsory to open 2 or 4 hot air vents (see table 1) at the
top of the appliance. The entrance for the air supply convection are situated at the lower
backside of the Luna Diamond and also through the opening that is provided for the fan. These
have been constructed in such a way that no air can be blown out along here, not even with
a fan. The stove is placed at least 20 mm above the floor (if placed on the floor) to allow for
natural convection.
A clearance of at least 4 dm3 , excluding the measurements of a dust filter, or at least 6 dm3
, including the measurements of a filter, must be provided for in the masonry. (Note: Remember
to take the measurements of the clearance of the

grids into account.) (Pic.7a)

2.5.2 Convection by means of a fan (optional)

It is compulsory to open at least 2 hot air vents (see table 1). It is essential to separate the
air supply ducts and the air vents correctly in the masonry. Some insulation material gets da­maged in time, and it is essential to separate it from the ventilation air supply, otherwise one
runs the risk that it is sucked in and spread in the house. It is therefore also advisable to use
fixed insulation plates (Promatec, HT-platen or promatec). The fan may be mounted either on

the outside or on the inside, which even makes it possible to install a fan afterwards.

2.5.3 Hot air ducts

Thermally insulated ducts are essential for the optimal functioning of the appliance (these cause
‘draught’ in the convection air current). By using the maximum number of ducts (at least 2), the
output is improved and the noise (that is caused by the displacement) is reduced.
For the purposes of the installation of these ducts it is best to go vertically upwards first for
at least 1m and then to change direction, making a rather wide bend and avoid using a flue
terminal grid with a small clearance because the speed loss that this causes reduces the ef­ficiency of the hot air vents.

M-design has developed its ideal hot air grids which have many advantages (Pic 7b and 7c)

OPGELET : Een huis mag nog zo stofvrij zijn, warmtebronnen geven
een circulatie van huisstofdeeltjes. Gedurende de periodes dat men niet
stookt, vormt zich een accumulatie van stof in de flexibels en de roosters.

Bij het stoken kan dit geurproblemen veroorzaken. Het is aangeraden de

flexibels en de roosters af en toe stofvrij te maken ( dmv een stofzuiger ).

Na een paar keer goed doorstoken verdwijnt de geur. Dit fenomeen is te

vergelijken met grijze sporen die tevoorschijn komen boven een gewone

radiator. U kan in optie mooie metalen deksels bestellen bij uw dealer, om

gedurende de zomerperiode de roosters af te schermen.

BELANGRIJK: een circuit van warmelucht vraagt een retour om geen onderdruk in
de kamer te creëren. De openingen aan de achterkant van de haard moeten niet
aangesloten worden aan flexibels. De verse lucht gaat via natuurlijke weg aangezo

-

gen worden dankzij het schouweffect van de aangesloten flexibels bovenaan. Een
rooster in de schouwmantel dichtbij de bodem zorgt er dus voor dat koude lucht
kan aangetrokken worden. Al de gebruikte aansluitingen zo goed mogelijk met
gelijke lengte en bochten plaatsen, anders zou het kunnen dat sommige roosters
veel meer warmte geven en andere bijna niets. Daar een warmeluchtbuis hetzelfde
effect geeft dan een schoorsteen, gaat degene die het eerst warm wordt ook de
meeste trek geven waardoor deze nog sneller warm zal worden.

2.6 Ventilator

2.6.1 Installatie

• Verwijder de chamoflexplaten of gietijzer, de bodemplaten en de toegang tot de
ventilator.

• Schuif nu de ventilator naar beneden tot net onder het vuur

• Maak nu de nodige elektrische verbindingen.

2.6.2 Dimmer voor ventilatie

• Laat de regeling van de ventilatiesnelheid toe.

• Zekering 1,5A (De knop afnemen, het plaatje losschroeven, uittrekken voor ver

-

vanging.)

• Regelingsschroef voor de min. snelheid onder de knop.
(In optie, M-design ontwikkeld een nieuwe inductie dimmer waarbij de ventilator
geruisloos draait. )

• De ventilator (optie) kan op gang gebracht worden na 15min. branden.

• De ventilator, eerste maal 12 uur op max. snelheid laten draaien om hem in te
werken.

ATTENTION : A house is never 100% free of dust. Heat sources mean that natural dust

particles can collect in ducts and mix with the heat. This dust is accrued occasionally in

the flexible ducting and the convection grills. It is easily removed with a vacuum hose,

and is recommended before the appliance is first used at the end of the summer season.

Dust particles can leave a greyish stain where heat is involved, and is often observed

above more traditional forms of heating. It may be as well to cover the grills during the

summer months when the fire is not in use to reduce the collection of dust particles. These

must be removed when the fire is in use.

Note: a circulation of hot air requires that no under-pressure be created in the room. A grid that is
near the floor (pic 7d) sees to it that cold air can be drawn in. Don’t connect those with a flexible.
Air will find the way to get at the right place. Place all the fittings that you use at the same lengths
and angles if possible, otherwise it is possible that some grids give off more heat than others and,
seeing that a hot air pipe functions in a manner similar to a chimney, the one that is hot first has the

most draught and therefore becomes hot even more quickly.

2.6 Fan

2.6.1 Installation

• Remove the Chamotflex plates, the bottom plates and the opening to the fan. See pic.8.

• Now slide the fan downwards to just under the stove.

• Make the necessary electrical connections.

2.6.2 Variateur pour turbine

•Leave the adjustment of the fan speed closed.

• Fuse 1.5A (Take the knob off, unscrew the little plate, take it
out if it is to be replaced.)

• The adjustment screw for the minimum speed is under the knob.
(M-design has developed a new induction dimmer which lets the fan run noiselessly and which
may be bought as an option.)

• The fan (optional) may be started after the fire has burned for 15 minutes.

• Let the fan turn at the maximum speed for 12 hours the first time to let it run in.

2.7 Rookkanaal

2.7.1 Rookkanaal

Het schoorsteenkanaal moet gebouwd worden onder strikte voorwaarden:

• Het kanaal moet thermisch geïsoleerd worden.

• De hoek van deze richtingsveranderingen met de loodlijn mag niet groter zijn
dan 45°.

• De uitgang van de schouw en zijn plaatsbepaling zijn zeer belangrijk.

• Een individueel rookkanaal heeft niet meer dan twee richtingsveranderingen.

• De bestaande hindernissen in de omgeving van de schouwuitgang moeten in
acht genomen worden.

• Sluit maximaal één toestel per schoorsteenkanaal aan, kies de beste / de niet ge­bruikte afsluiten
Bepaalde schoorsteenconfiguraties kunnen een andere diameter vereisen dan
de standaarddiameter van de LUNA die U aangekocht heeft. In dit geval moet
rekening gehouden worden met tabel 2 voor de hoogte van het rookkanaal en
de mogelijkheid tot reductie met behulp van een reductiestuk.

Opgelet :
per richtingsverandering van 45° moet met bij deze tabel 1 m bijtellen.

2.7 Flue

2.7.1 Flue

The construction of chimney must comply with strict conditions:
All the Luna stoves have a standard flue opening of 250 mm. in diameter. Certain chimney
configurations may require different standard diameters. In that case, look at table for the
height of the flue and the possibility of reducing the diameter with the help of a reduction
piece.
Note : per 45° change of direction, one must keep to within 1m of this table.

• The flue must be thermally insulated.
The opening into the flue and its position are very important.

• One individual flue does not have more than two changes of direction.
The angle of the corner of these changes of direction may not be greater than 45 ° with the
perpendicular.

• The existing obstacles in the vicinity of the opening into the flue must be taken into account.

• Do not connect more than one stove to a chimney flue.

Attention:
For each direction change of 45° you have to add 1m.

3. Regulation of primary air

The air is spread out over the complete width of the fireplace underneath the spoiler . This is
why it is important to regulary clean out the remaining ashes from your fireplace. This to make
sure the ‘air gap’ underneath the spoiler remains clear.

The regulation of the air for combustion is controlled manually. Take the key and slide the
regulator to the right to increase the air supply and to the left to reduce the air supply . When
your lift door is open , the regulation will not function.

From position 0—> 1/2 the primary air inlet is shut and there is only secondary air.
From position 1/2 —> 1 the primary air is supplied ( as is the secondary air supplied
position 0 —> 1

3. Regeling primaire lucht

De lucht wordt verspreid onder de spoiler over gans de bre edte van het vuur. Het is
daarom ook belangrijk om regelmatig de assen uit het vuur te halen en de ruimte
onder de spoiler te vrijwaren van overblijvende assen.

De regeling van de toevoer van verbrandingslucht wordt manueel geregeld. Neem
de pook en schuif de regelaar naar rechts om de luchhtoevoer te verhogen en naar
links om de luchttoevoer te verlagen. Bij een open deur zal de regeling geen effect
hebben op het vuur.

Van positie 0 -> 1/2 is de primaire luchttoevoer afgesloten en krijgt het vuur enkel
secundaire lucht
Van positie 1/2 -->1 wordt de primaire luchttoevoer aangevoerd ( eveneens met
secundaire lucht die aangevoerd wordt van pos.0 tot pos.1 )

4. Algemene aanbevelingen

Het toestel moet aan het rookkanaal aangesloten en getest worden
vooraleer de bekleding gemetseld wordt. Voor een ideale werking
moet het toestel en de warmteluchtkanalen volledig geïsoleerd wor­den, de minimale luchtingangs- en uitgangsdoorsneden moeten na­geleefd worden en de schoorsteen moet aangepast zijn. Plaats geen
brandbare materialen in de onmiddelijke omgeving van de haard.

Let op: Bij de werking met open deur kunnen brandende houtdeel­tjes op de grond geprojecteerd worden.

Isolerende materialen: gebruik bij voorkeur “hoge temperatuur” ma­terialen
Het is ten zeerste aan te raden de schouw zo te plaatsen of aan te slui­ten dat er geen vocht of water in de haard kunnen komen. Vocht en
water zijn de grootste vijand van de Chamotflex in het toestel. Hier­door kunnen deze zwellen en barsten na aanmaken van het vuur.

4.1 Onderhoud

• Behalve het regelmatig proper houden van het venster, moet U
voor een goede werking van de Luna DIMAOND minstens 1 maal per
jaar uw schoorsteen laten vegen. (Dit is niet alleen wettelijk, maar is
ook voor uw veiligheid bedoeld.)

• Een vuurvaste steen (Chamotte), kan nog perfect werken als hij ge­barsten is. Maar indien er stukken uit een steen zijn verdwenen, moet
die steen worden vervangen om de verbrandingskamer doeltreffend
te beschermen

• Verwijder op tijd het overschot van assen, neem de asschep en
verwijder een groot deel van de assen uit de Luna. Let op: Verwijder
nooit alle assen, want een vuur brandt nog beter op z’n eigen as.

• Bij frequent gebruik is het nodig om het geleidingsmechanisme te
smeren met een temperatuurbestendige silicone-olie. Gebruik GEEN
ander smeermiddel. Dit smeermiddel op basis van teflon is eveneens
te verkrijgen bij de dealers van M-design. Bij herhaaldelijke hoge
temperaturen zou deze anders kunnen uitdrogen en een blokkage
van de ruit veroorzaken.

4. General recommendations

The appliance must be connected to the flue pipe and tested before the ma­terial is cemented in. In order to ensure that the appliance functions optimally,
one must insulate the hot air ducts
completely, comply with the minimum of the diameter measurements for the
hot air ducts and hot air vents and the chimney must be adjusted. Do not put
any inflammable materials in the immediate vicinity of the stove.
Note: If you leave the door open, little burning pieces of wood may be
projected onto the floor.
Insulating materials: it is preferable to use “high temperature” materials.
It is strongly advisable to position the chimney and to connect the stove in
such a way that no
humidity or water can enter the stove. Humidity and water are the greatest
enemies of the Chamotflex in the appliance because it can swell and burst

after the fire has been lit.

4.1 Maintenance

• Besides regularly cleaning the window, you must have your chimney swept
at least once a year for optimal functioning of the Luna. (Not only is this a
legal requirement, but it is also meant for your own safety.)

• A fire brick (Chamotte) can still work perfectly, even if it is cracked, but
if pieces are missing the brick must be replaced to effectively protect the
combustion chamber.

• Remove the remainder of the ash in time, take the ash pan and remove a
great part of the ashes from the Luna.

Note: Never remove all the ashes because a fire always burns better with
its own ashes.

4.1.1 Het reinigen van het raam :

- Onder de bovenlat zijn er twee haken die u naar boven duwt met
uw vingers. Het venster kan nu openklappen onder 45°. Om opnieuw
te sluiten duwt u het vernster terug aan tot deze weer inhaakt.

- Eenmaal u dit gedaan hebt heeft u de mogelijkheid om het nog op
en neer te schuiven en te reinigen.

• Bij het kuisen van de ruit raden wij U aan het produkt “Bio-Clean”
van M-design te gebruiken, verkrijgbaar bij uw verdeler, dit is een
van de weinige producten die de lak niet aantasten.

5.1 Reset afstandsbediening / Reset remote

Gebruik een balpen en duw de pen in het gaatje aan linkerzijde
van de ontvanger. Blijf 4 seconden duwen terwijl u terzelfdertijd
op pijl drukt van de afstandsbediening.

on the side of the receiver. Press the tip of the pen for 4 seconds and
simultaneously press the arrow on the remote control . ( look at the
pictures before doing so )

Volg deze richtlijnen indien door omstandigheden de

Nadat u het toestel volledig geïnstalleerd hebt en voor de bemanteling ervan dient het toestel op “zero point”
ingsteld te worden en getest te worden. Deze richtlijnen moet u ook volgen indien er een stroomonderbreking
gebeurde of indien men van automatisch naar manueel overschakelde. Het systeem moet in manuele stand
ontgrendeld worden (positie hendel naar links met pook). Het toestel wordt standaard geleverd in deze positie.

Zak het venster met de pook tot op +/- 1 cm van de dichting. Vergrendel met de pook (positie hendel naar rechts
met pook ). Duw de pijl van afstandsbediening tot venster volledig dicht is. Het toestel moet nu op “zero
point” teruggezet worden : duw op op pijl gedurende 2 seconden, het venster gaat dan even +/- 1mm om­laag en omhoog en staat nu op “zero point”
Opmerking : U kan nu de afstandsbediening of de draadbediening gebruiken. De twee bedieningen mogen ter­zelfdertijd gebruikt worden en interferen niet met elkaar.

After having completely installed the fireplaces and before starting to build a mantle around it, the fireplace needs to be set
to ‘zero point’ in order to test the complete functionality . These same guidelines need to be followed in case of an electricity
power cut-off or when you need to switch from automatic to manual control.
The appliance comes delivered with manual control, this always needs to be unlocked. ( push the key to the left as you can
see in the pictures above. )
Slide the glass of the appliance down to approx 1 cm above the joint. Lock with the key (slide the key to the right). Press on
the remote control until the glass liftdoor is completely closed. Now the appliance can be reset to ‘zero point‘ : press the arrow
down for 2 seconds ,you will see the window will go up and down for about 1 mm and this means you have successfully
reset to ‘zero point‘.
REMARK: now you are able to use the remote control and the wired control . Both controls can be used at the same time and
will not interfere with each other.

6. Garantiebepaling

6.1 Duur en beperking

• 8 jaar garantie op de algemene structuur.

• 2 jaar garantie op de uitwisselbare onderdelen en ook op rookklep

• 1 jaar garantie op de ventilatoren en de snelheidsvariator.

• Geen garantie op glas, dichtingen en Chamotflex platen

6.2 Voorbehoud

De geldigheid van de garantie vervalt in geval de voorschriften en richtlijnen van deze
gebruiksaanwijzing niet gevolgd werden. De tussenkomst tijdens de garantieperiode
zal uitsluitend verzekerd worden door bemiddeling van de verdeler op voorlegging
van de aankoopfactuur. De onderdelen zullen alleen geleverd worden ter vervanging
van de defecte onderdelen.

6.3 Uitsluiting

Beschadigingen, schadegevallen en functiestoornissen gekoppeld aan:

• Een verkeerde installatie of aansluiting.

• Niet aangepaste schoorsteentrek.

• Vervoer en installatie.

• Verkeerd gebruik.

• Onvoldoende onderhoud.

• Ongeschikte, schadelijke en vochtige brandstoffen ( geverfd hout, palettenhout, af-

braakhout.....)

• Elke interne wijziging of ombouw van de haard.

• Branden met extreem hoge temperatuur, meer dan 12 kw.

• Kosten voor vervoer en verpakking.

• Alle niet op voorhand aangenomen kosten door M-design.

6. Guarantee

6.1 Terms and items covered

• 8 years’ guarantee on the general structure.

• 2 years’ guarantee on the parts and on the baffle plate

• 1 year’s guarantee on the fans and the speed variator.

• No guarantee on glass, seals or Chamotflex plates

6.2 Provisio

This contract ceases to be valid if the instructions and guidelines of these operating instructions
were not followed. Indemnification during the guarantee period will take place only through the
supplier’s mediation upon presentation of the invoice of purchase. Parts will be delivered only in
replacement of defect parts.

6.3 Disclaimer

Damage, loss and malfunctions linked to:

• Incorrect installation of incorrect connection.

• Chimney draught that has not been adjusted.

• Transport and installation.

• Incorrect usage.

• Insufficient maintenance.

• Unsuitable, hazardous and damp fuel.

• Every internal adjustment to or reconstruction of the stove.

• Burning at extremely high temperature, more than 12 kw.

• Costs for packaging and transport.

• All costs not pre-arranged with M-design.

• Costs linked to the misuse and/or abuse of the appliance.

It is easy to level the frame and to have it smoothly connected in line with your finishing
( marble, gypsum etc )
By unscrewing the screws 1 , 2 and 3 the frame can be positioned in the directions A, B
and C . This enables you a perfect finish inbetween the fireplaces and it upholstery.

De kader is gemakkelijk pas en aansluitend te zetten ten opzichte van de afwerking

(natuursteen, gyproc,....).

Door de schroeven 1,2 en 3 los te draaien, kan de vollidige kader in de richtingen A, B
en C ingesteld worden. Op die manier kan een perfecte uitlijning gemaakt worden tussen
haard en afwerking rond deze.

4 SIDED FINISHING FRAME
The 4 sided finishing frame can be used if a perfect finish is required around the inner­frame , please make sure you leave an expansion gap of 2 mm around this ( detail B )

Space required required for the finishing is :

B ext 2 + 2 and H ext + 2 +2

De 4-zijdige kaderwordt gebruikt wanneer men de afwerking rondom de kader wilt
voorzien. Voorzie een uitzettingsvoeg van 2mm rondom de kader (detail B).

De te voorziene opening voor de afwerking is :

B ext. 2 +2mm en H ext. + 2+2mm (volgens tabel)

Adjusting this frame is identical to the innerframes.

Principe regeling kader is identiek als bij kader 35mm.

7.3 Opzetkader / Finishing frame

The finishing can be slided over the 4 sided frame, please make sure you
have a 5 mm gap to enable this

Dimensions of the opening B+ 2 X 5 MM and H + 2X 5MM

De opzetkader schuift over de 4-zijdige kader. Tussen de opzetkader een spelin,g van
min 5mm voorzien.

Maat van de opening : B+ 2x5mm en H+2x5mm. (Zie tabel)
