7. Place the other end of the damper rod into the coupling
already attached to the fresh air kit. Do not tighten the
setscrew at this point.
2. Install the coupling, Item 2, on the end of the damper
blade, Item 5, closest to the unit control box. With the
damper blade in the closed position, the setscrews, Item
4, should be facing the front. See Figure 1 or 2.
3. Install the fresh air kit as shown in IM 374, supplied with
that kit.
4. Cut damper control rod, Item 1, to correct length (see
table above). Make sure unit size and rod length go
together. Deburr ends of the rod.
5. Attach the damper motor, Item 6, to the mounting
bracket., Item 8, with two #8-32 x 0.375" (10 mm)
screws, Item 9. See Figure 1 or 2.
6. Slide the damper rod through the 0.50" (13 mm) diameter hole in the unit subbase. See Figure 1 or 2. Place the
damper motor assembly in the proper unit end compartment, attach the damper rod to the motor coupling, and
tighten the setscrew.
8. Attach the damper motor assembly to the unit end piece
with two #10 x 0.50" (13 mm) sheet metal screws, Item
3. See Figure 1 or 2.
9. With the fresh air damper blade in the closed position,
tighten the setscrew to the damper rod.
10. Manually open the fresh air intake box damper blade and
let the spring return on the damper motor close the
damper blade. If it binds, loosen the two screws holding
the damper motor bracket to the end piece and adjust
the assembly until the spring will close the damper
blade. Retighten the screws.
11. Attach one end of the conduit to the electrical connector
on the damper motor and the other end to the control
box.
12. Wire the damper motor into the electrical circuit. Three
typical wiring diagrams are shown in Figure 5.
