INTRODUCTION
The McLELLA ND M ix-Lite U SB a udio interface is designed as an audio interf ace between analog and digital audio sources, record ers and a computer with USB 1.1 or 2.0 connection . It is su itable for use on sta ge a nd i n the sound recordi ng studio as well as for h ome recording and multi-media applica tions. Micr ophone signals, h igh-impedanc e instrumen t sign als, analog lin e sign als and digital signal s can be transmitted with su perior sound q uality to a computer where t hey can be edited, mixed and publishe d with corre sponding pro duction soft ware. The au dio interfac e is compati ble to PC and Mac and re quires no setup th anks to its plug & play functionality.
Th e in te rface features two combo inpu ts f or m ic rophones and high-imped an ce m usic instrum ents, an i nput for units w ith line l evel(e.g. C D players) as well as an input for digital audio signals . Fo r the analog inputs the amplifi cation can be adjus ted and for phantom -powere d microph ones +48V phanto m power can be switc hed on.
The audio signals coming from the computer and the pr eamplified analog input signals are availab le a t tw o 6.3mm jacks as well as at an adj ustable 3.5mm headph ones output. Addition ally, there is a digit al output for the au dio signals coming from t he computer. The power supply for the unit i s ma de via the USB interface. Alte rnatively the s upplied power u nit or the 9V batt ery may be used for an o peration indep endent of the comp uter.
This product is all owed to be operated with 9V AC/D C, 150 mA and was designe d for indoor use only.

1. Both microphones and high-impedance mu sic instr uments su ch as electric guitars or el ectric bass guit ars can be connect ed to the Mic/Inst rument inputs:
• Connect microphones (balanced or u nbalanced) via XLR pl ugs or 6.3mm jacks. Balanced
cables prov ide +6 dB more output and guarante e a better protec tion against interference in case of lon g cable runs.
• For phanto m-powered microph ones a +48V phantom po wer c an be switched on . Con nect
high-im pedance music in struments via 6. 3mm jacks.
2. For connec ting a signal source with line leve l o utput(e.g. CD player) use the stereo RCA IN connect ors(white jack = l eft, red jack = righ t).
3. For the am plification or recor ding of the preampl ified signa ls o f the Mic/Instr ument inputs and RCA IN an d the signals from the computer connect a PA a mplifier for speakers or subsequ ent units with lin e level to the R/L balance d 6.3mm jacks OUTP UT.
4. Use the USB cable to connect the audio i nterface to a n availab le U SB port on your com puter. The a udio interface i s compatible with both P C and Mac comp uters and requires no install ation procedur e or drivers for the c orrect functioning.
5. To monitor the anal og input sign als and the signals from the computer connect stereo headpho nes with 3.5 mm plug to M ONITO R output. Alt ernatively, a monitor s ystem such a s desktop s peakers may be con nected to the outp ut.
6. For connecti on of a digital audi o sig nal i n S/P DIF f ormat use the S /PDIF IN j ack. The input can only be u sed in connectio n with a computer.
7. A subseque nt digital audio device with S/P DIF input can be connecte d to the S/ PDIF OU T jack t o pickup t he signals from the computer. The ou tput can o nly be use d in conne ction with a compute r.
8. For an operation independe nt of the co mputer t he audio in terface can also be supplied with power via t he supplied powe r unit or battery:
• Connect th e cable of the power unit t o the power input 9V AC/DC a nd th e power unit to a
power outlet. Use the unit only with the s upplied power unit. Always disconnect the mains connect or w hen you wish to change conn ections, move t he u nit to a differen t pl ace or if it is not used fo r a longer period.
• To insert the battery remove the battery cov er. Insert the 9V battery as indica ted in the
battery compa rtment. Close the compart ment again with the cover. If the audio interf ace is not used for a long er period(appro x. 1-2 week s), please remove the battery to prevent damage in c ase of battery lea kage.
NOTE: Batteries ar e hazardo us waste wh ich need to be disposed of appropriately. If the de vice i s to be disposed, the batt eries have to be removed first. Make sure that t he poles are cor rect when inserting the batte ry. Never let batteries lying around o penly as there i s the danger that these can be swallo wed by children or dom estic animals. Immedia tely consult a doct or w hen batteries a re s wallowed! Leakin g or damaged batteri es can cause i rritations when getting in to contact with the skin. In this case use appropr iate pro tective gloves. Make sure that the bat teries c annot be sh ort-circuite d, thrown into the fire and be charged. There is a danger of ex plosion. Shou ld any liquid enter the d evice neverthe less, remove the batteries immediatel y.
