1. FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS listed in
this manual before/during operation of this trimmer.

power tool has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not
change the plug in any way.

If you receive your unit assembled, check each step to
insure your unit is properly assembled. Follow all safety
information in the manual and on the unit.
3-1. ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble three parts into unit. (Fig. 3-1A)
2. Take out assembly screw bolts, washers, nuts from
parts pack and lock into the unit holes (the correspond
location are as Fig. 3-1B)
3. First of all, put the washer and nut in the hole, then
support the nut by finger and plug the screw bolt and
lock. (Fig. 3-1C)

3-2. DEBRIS SHIELD INSTALLATION
Assemble shield as shown (Fig. 3-2). Keep hands and fingers away from the sharp blade. Twist shield in direction of
arrow to assemble.

3-3. CONNECT THE CORD
1. Ensure the cord is NOT plugged into a receptacle
before this procedure.
2. Make a loop with 8” - 10” (20 - 25cm) of the end of the
extension cord.
3. Place the loop into the groove at the end of the rear
handle and lock into place as shown in Fig. 3-3.
4. Connect the extension cord to the plug on the trimmer.
5. Plug the extension cord into a receptacle ONLY when
you are ready to operate the trimmer.
3-4. STARTING
1. When starting the string trimmer for the first time,
check that the nylon lines touch or pass over the linecutting blade. If they are not long enough, press the
utton and, at the same time, pull the nylon lines (Fig.

2. Connect the plug of the string-trimmer to the extension cord and attach this to the handle. (Fig. 3-3)
3. Take a secure hold of the grass trimmer. Without letting the trimmer touch the grass, press the switch (A)
on the upper handgrip (Fig. 3-3).Let the string trimmer
run for a few seconds and “bump” the string head
against the lawn. Nylon line will automatically release.
The cut-off knife in the debris shield will trim off
excess line.
4. To turn off the string trimmer let go of the switch.
NOTE: A short or worn line is less efficient, to lengthen the
line tap the spool button lightly on the ground while the trimmer is running and spool turning. (Fig. 3-4B)

Start off slowly, when you have gained experience, you will
be able to use the grass trimmer to its full potential.

4-1. STAND AS SHOWN (FIG. 4-1) AND
CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
1. Operator wearing safety glasses and heavy clothing.
Use both hands to hold trimmer during use.

from the operator.Without operator bending over,keep
the line near and parallel to ground and not crowded
into material being cut.
CAUTION
Never use as an edger or lean over the trimmer head when
trimming. Spinning line causes objects to be thrown violently which can cause blindness or other serious injury.
4-2. EXTENDING THE LINE
To advance the line, tap the bottom of the cutting head on
the ground while the trimmer is running. The line cutting
blade will cut the line to the proper length. (Fig. 4-2)

5-1. REPLACE THE SPOOL OF NYLON LINE
Unplug the trimmer.

2. Remove the spool assembly from the trimmer. To do
so, hold the outer ribbed part of the assembly with one
hand, while pushing do

NOTE: There is a spring inside the spool head that
could easily be lost. Insure that it is put in a safe place.

WARNING
Before doing maintenance operations disconnect the
power supply by unplugging the extension cord.
1. Regular cleaning and maintenance of your string trimmer will ensure efficiency and prolong the life of your
machine.
2. After each cutting operation, take apart and clean out
the grass and soil from: the spool and its slot and in
particular the debris shield.
3. During operation, keep the air slots clean and free of
grass.
4. Only use a cloth soaked with hot water and a soft
brush to clean the string trimmer.
5. Do not spray or wet the appliance with water.
6. Do not use detergents or solvents as these could ruin
the trimmer. The parts made of plastic can easily be
damaged by chemical agents.
7. If the line cutting line no longer cuts or breaks, have
this replaced by contacting an authorized service
centre.

6 - ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRNATY
1. DURATION
The duration of the warranty for this McCulloch product is as follows: ONE (1) YEAR from date of original purchase only
when used for personal, family, household, farm or ranch, purposes, provided the unit is not used for rental purposes;
NINETY (90) DAYS from date of original purchase when used for commercial, professional, institutional or rental purposes. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state. MCCULLOCH CORPORATION HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES AFTER THE APPLICABLE EXPIRATION
DATES OF THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY. (Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.)

3. WHO RECEIVES THIS WARRANTY
A. The buyer (other than for purposes of resale) of the McCulloch Product.
B. Any person to whom such product is lawfully transferred within the duration of the implied or written warranty applica-
ble to the product.
C. Any other person who is entitled by the terms of the warranty or under applicable state law to enforce against the
Warrantor the obligation of the warranty.
(The above mentioned parties are hereinafter referred to as “User.”)
4. WHAT IS COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY
Any failure that occurs within the applicable duration of the warranty period that is the result of defects in materials or workmanship.
5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY
A. Any incidental or consequential damages that may result from the failure or malfunction of the McCulloch product.
(Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may
not apply to you.)
B. Any failure that results from an accident, User abuse, neglect or failure to operate the product in accordance with the
instructions provided in the User Manual(s) supplied with the product, or that results from improper servicing by an
unauthorized repair facility.
C. Normal adjustments which are explained in the User Manual(s) provided with the product.
D. Any component(s) or accessories not sold or manufactured by the Warrantor.
