McAfee E-Business Server
Unprotected data that is exchanged or stored opens a security risk for companies. Confidential information could be revealed to unauthorized sources, both inside and outside the company. Businesses need a way to exchange secure data with branch offices, vendors, and business partners to stay competitive and protected.
As with any security implementation, safekeeping your data is only as secure as your weakest link. It is common knowledge that most hacker attacks come from inside the corporation. Therefore, it is imperative that data be encrypted to prevent unauthorized access, both when transferred electronically and when stored.
McAfee end-to-end protection to securely exchange confidential information between partners and remote offices via the Internet. Information and data can now be exchanged securely with automated protection within applications, file transfers, transaction processes, and e-mail, using the strength of PGP encryption.

E-Business Server is an easy way to provide
Industrial-Strength Encryption
Using PGP encryption technology, McAfee E-Business Server allows IT administrators and developers to embed automatic encryption, decryption, digital signing, and verification to protect data everywhere it is accessed by users, allowing full control of who has access to what information. PGP 128-bit encryption incorporates the industry’s strongest encryption algorithms, including Triple-DES CAST, IDEA, and the Twofish Cipher algorithms.
Providing Ease-of-Use
Although McAfee E-Business Server provides full protection, it is also easy to install and manage. Not only does it automate encryption, compression, digital signing, data integrity, and authentication within applications or batch processes, it protects data without user interaction for consistent security. And McAfee EBusiness Server uses simple commands to make securing data with encryption easy, eliminating implementation errors and reducing maintenance.
McAfee E-Business Server 8.0 provides a simplified installation process that makes it easy to set up on multiple servers from a single console, enabling customers to get up and running in just a few hours.
And because McAfee E-Business Server maps into your existing business processes, no additional gateway or network changes are necessary.
And with remote management capabilities, multiple McAfee E-Business Server 8.0s can be implemented within your enterprise and managed from a single location. This easy-to-use, Java-based GUI console provides a configuration interface via the network or Internet that allows IT administrators to manage the data that is being encrypted and the policies.
Efficient, Secure Communications
Unlike traditional methods of communication with partners and remote offices, which may be expensive and insecure, McAfee E-Business Server makes it easy to exchange information with partners and remote offices. Not only does McAfee E-Business Server allow companies to replace expensive leased lines b y transferring data securely and inexpensively over the Internet, it enables data-sharing with partners who do not have encryption installed. McAfee E-Business Server supports large files in excess of 4GB, with builtin compression (up to 50 percent) to conserve bandwidth, thus reducing transfer costs and providing efficient use of storage space. And with support for selfdecryption (SDA) and other archives, McAfee EBusiness Server provides secure transactions and communications for companies with their business partners who do not use encryption.
Protection for Third-Party Applications
McAfee E-Business Server makes it easy to protect both proprietary and third-party applications that are used to doing business with partners and remote offices. It allows developers to easily implement market-leading data protection into their existing applications, batch processes, and transfers using their choice of language or script (UNIX Shell Scripts, Perl Scripts, CGI Scripts, Windows C/C++ native support) with simple commands or optional native APIs (including C, Visual Basic, Perl, and Java) ensuring that all data communicated with partners from any back-end system can be encrypted.

mainframes. Also, because it supports international PGP standards and protocols as well as X.509 certificates, McAfee E-Business Server interoperates with a wide range of data partners. It operates by encrypting on one platform and decrypting on another, enabling the sharing of data across platforms running under Windows or other operating systems including: OS/390, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris or Windows NT/2000 for McAfee E-Business Server 7.1; and Solaris or Windows NT/2000/2003 for McAfee E-Business Server 8.0. And it supports SmartCards and other PKCS 11-compliant tokens on Windows platforms.
Extensive Certificate Support
With support for international PGP standards and protocols as well as a long list of certificate authorities, McAfee E-Business Server enables users the flexibility to securely exchange information with more partners than any other encryption solution. Certificate authorities supported include VeriSign OnSite, Entrust, iPlanet CMS, and Windows 2000. X.509 certificate generation allows companies to create in-house certificate authorities, freeing them from commercial certificate authorities.
