To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury or death; disconnect electrical power before servicing.
The components in this kit will allow for a conversion of the existing motor drive system. The AC line filter in the kit,
is required for earlier washers to prevent malfunction of the control board in the console. Following the instructions
on this sheet will ensure the washer will be repaired correctly. Failure to comply may result in premature failure of
other components in the washer.
Procedure:
1. Disconnect power to the washer.
2. Remove front panel by removing four screws
around the perimeter of door opening.
3. Locate motor control board in right front lower
corner of washer.
4. Remove main wire harnesses attached to the
front of motor control board.
5. Remove two mounting screws in front of motor
control board securing the assembly to the base
and set aside for later procedure. A rear-locating
tab on the motor control base engages with a slot
Limiter
in the base frame.
6. Remove “P” clip and screw securing motor
harness to base frame, set screw aside and
discard “P” clip.
7. Remove wire harness from motor. Then remove

contact with the limiter, and then tighten the
mounting bolt. Figure 1
13. Put belt back onto the motor pulley and then roll
the belt back onto the rear pulley.
14. Go to the front of the washer and snap harness
back into the wire retainers on the base frame.
Position “P” clip on motor harness towards the
end of the protective sleeve on harness, and
fasten “P” clip to base frame with screw set aside
in step 6. Figure 3
15. Install new motor control board/bracket and AC
line filter assembly using screws set aside
step 5, to the base frame in the same location as
the previous motor control.
