INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Please read these instructions carefully before connecting, operating or adjusting the unit. Follow all warnings and operating recommendations in this manual. Keep this manual for future reference.

DANGEROUS VOLTAGE

This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

ATTENTION

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user about the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the manual accompanying the unit.

CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT

This unit is classified as CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT. The corresponding mark is on the rear panel of the unit and it means that the unit employs a beam system. Possibility of laser emission is absent if the unit is not being opened. REFER TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL FOR MAINTENANCE.

SAFETY MEASURES

Check, whether the electricity supply in your • home sockets corresponds to the voltage specified on the housing of the unit. To prevent fire or shock hazard do not use this • unit in places with high humidity (near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool etc.). Prevent the unit from dripping and splashing. Do not immerse the unit into water. Do not overload wall outlets or extension • cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

Place the unit in a way that you could easily • pull out the plug from the socket if there are some damages. Place the unit on the flat surface with proper • ventilation. Do not block the ventilation openings on the body of the unit. Do not place the unit near heat sources, for • instance, radiators, electric heaters, stoves or other units, which are heat sources (including amplifiers), as well as in places, subjected to direct sunlight, excessive dust or mechanical strikes. For additional protection during lightening • and in cases when you are not going to use the unit for a long time, unplug the unit. It will prevent the unit from failure during lightning and power surges. To unplug the unit, take the plug. Do not pull • the cord. Be especially careful if children or disabled • persons are near the operating unit. Do not leave them unattended. This unit is not intended for usage by children • or disabled persons unless they are given all the necessary instructions on safety measures and information about danger, which can be caused by improper usage of the unit. Do not make the volume too loud while listen-• ing to the player in order not to disturb the rest of the people around you. To avoid decline of hearing while listening to • the unit via the earphones, do not make the volume too high, experts do recommend listening to the unit at high volume for a long time, if you hear ringing in your ears, decrease volume of stop listening. Do not place sources of open flame such as • candles on the unit.

To avoid getting of electric shock, injuries or • damaging of household goods, do not drop and do not insert foreign objects into any other openings of the unit.

In order to avoid electric shock do not remove • the cover yourself. Do not repair and do not modify the unit. Technical maintenance should be performed only by qualified service personnel.

Damages requiring repairs Unplug this unit from the wall outlet and apply to the qualified service personnel for repair of the unit under the following conditions:

-When the power supply cord or plug is damaged.

-There are foreign objects inside the unit.

-If the unit has been exposed to rain or water.

-If the unit does not operate normally.

-If the unit fell down or was damaged in any other way.

Cleaning

Unplug this unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a damp soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.

Cleaning disc

-Do not use cracked or deformed discs, it can damage the unit.

-Hold the disc only by the edges. Do not touch the operating surface of a disc. Dust, scratches or fingerprints on the surface may lead to a failure of the unit.

-Protect the disc from direct sunlight; heat sources, high temperature and moisture.

-After usage, put the discs in the case for storage. Wipe the surface of the discs with a soft cloth from the center to the edges periodically.

Before operation

Unpack the unit. Open the lid (7) and eject the protective insert, close the lid (7). Remove all advertising labels and stickers, which prevent the unit from normal operation, from the upper and front part of the unit.

POWER CONNECTION Line supply

Before connecting the unit, make sure that your home electricity supply corresponds to the voltage specified on the unit.

- To connect the unit, insert one end of the power cord in the jack (17), and the power plug into the socket.

- Set the (2) FUNCTION switch to the CD or RADIO position.

- To switch off the unit set the (2) FUNCTION switch to the OFF position.

Battery supply

-Disconnect the player.

-Open the battery compartment lid (18).

-Insert 8 batteries of “C”, “LR14”, UM 2” type 1,5 V (not supplied) into the battery compartment following the polarity.

-Close the battery compartment lid.

Attention!

- Do not use batteries of different types together, for instance alkaline and manganesian-zink ones. Use only batteries of the same unit.

- Do not use old and new batteries together when replacing the batteries.

- With unstable operation of the unit, check the batteries and replace them if necessary.

- Take the batteries out if you are not going to use the unit for a long time.

- Improper usage of the batteries can lead to electrolyte leakage and damaging of the unit.

Note: When the unit is in the standby mode, it still consumes power, to switch off the unit completely disconnect the power cord from the socket.

Connecting the earphones

To listen to the player via the earphones (not supplied) connect them to the (1) PHONES jack. Set the desired volume level using the (3) VOL- UME control. Playback from the speakers will switch off automatically when the earphones are connected.

Attention! Do not listen to music too loud via the earphones. To avoid decline of hearing while listening to the unit via the earphones, do not make the volume too high, experts do recommend listening to the unit at high volume for a long time.

BASIC FUNCTIONS Adjusting volume level

Use the VOLUME (3) control to adjust the desired volume level.

Radio stations reception

1. Set the FUNCTION (2) switch to the RADIO

position.

2. Select the desired band: AM, FM, FM ST, set-

ting the (14) BAND switch to the corresponding position.

3. Rotate the TUNING knob (13) to select the de-

sired radio station.

4. After you stop listening to the radio, set the

FUNCTION switch (2) to the OFF position.

Note:

- When tuning to the station, which transmits stereo signal, the FM ST indicator (9), which is situated on the radio tuning scale, will light up.

- in conditions of bad receipt interferences can appear (the indicator (9) will be flashing), in this case set the (14) BAND switch to the FM position, sound will be played back in the mono mode, but the interferences level will significantly decrease.

Antenna

- For the best FM reception, completely extend the antenna (8) and direct it at the desired angle.

- For the best AM reception, try different variants of the unit orientation in the horizontal plane.

Playback of CD discs Setting a disc – open the disc compartment lid

(7). Inset a CD disc with a label up and close the lid (7) of the disc compartment.

Ejecting a disc – after the playback stops open the CD compartment lid (7), “OP” will appear on the display (6) and eject the disc. Put the disc in the case. Always close the CD compartment lid (7) in order to prevent it from dust. Always eject a disc from the CD compartment if it is not being played back.

1. Plug in the unit.

2. Select the CD playback mode. To do it, set

the FUNCTION switch (2) to the CD position, the display lighting (6) will light up.

3. Open the lid (7), insert a disc with the label up and close the lid (7).

4. After reading of the information from a disc total number of tracks will appear on the display (6) and payback of the first track on the disc will start.

Note:

- the unit can playback CD-R and CD-RW discs

- when there is no disc in the compartment or the

disc is damaged “no” will appear on the display (6).

Playback

- In the stop mode press the button (11), playback of the disc will start and the number of the played back track and the ►║ symbol will appear on the display (6).

Pause

- To pause the playback press the button (11),

►║ and the number of the track will be flash-

- To resume the playback, press the button (11) once again.

Stop the playback

- To stop the playback press the button (5), total number of the tracks on the disc will appear on the display (6).

Moving to the beginning of the previous track or to the next track.

- During the playback or in the pause mode, to move to the previous or the next track press the buttons (15) /.

Moving to the playback of a certain fragment of a track

- In the playback mode press and hold the buttons (15) / for quick moving to the playback of a certain fragment of a track.

Note:

- in the quick moving to the fragment of a track mode, when one of the buttons (15) / is pressed, the sound is not played back.

Repeated playback of a track or a disc

- To repeat one track press the (12) REP once, “REP” will appear on the display.

- To repeat all tracks on the disc press the (12) REP twice, “REP ALL” will appear on the display (6).

Random playback of the recorded tracks

- To playback all tracks in the random order, press the (12) REP button three times, “RAND” will appear on the display (6).

Note:

- switching on of the repeat modes can be performed from the playback mode, pause or stop mode.

- to cancel repeat modes, press the (12) REP button several times, until “REP”, “REP ALL” or “RAND” disappear.

Programming the playback of tracks

You can program playback of tracks (maximum

20) in the desired order.

1. In the STOP mode, press the (4) PROG+10 button once, the flashing “PROG” symbol and “P01” symbol will appear on the display.

2. Press the buttons (15) / to select the desired track.

3. To store the selected track in memory press the PROG+10 button, “P02” (6), in which the next track can be recorded, will appear on the display (refer to p. 2).

4. You can program up to 20 tracks, when the number of the memory cells is exceeded, “FUL” will appear on the display.

5. To playback tracks in the programmed order, press the button (11).

6. To cancel programmed playback of tracks press the button (5), open the lid (7) of the disc compartment or set the (2) FUNCTION switch to another position.

Playback of МР3 files from a disc

Qualitative sound, without interferences and malfunction is guaranteed only at playback of the licensed discs, but depending on software of the manufacturer of the disc or burning speed, problems while reading the disc by the unit can appear as well.

Playback of files

1. Plug in the unit.

2. Select the CD playback mode. Set the (2) FUNCTION switch to the CD position, lighting of the display (6) will light up.

3. After reading of the information total number of folders “F”, total number of tracks will appear on the display (6), playback of the first track from the first folder of the disc will start. Playback symbols the track number will take turns with the folder number, format of the track “ MP3” or “ WMA” will be displayed in the upper part of the display.

4. If the damaged disc inserted “no” will appear on the display (6).

Playback

- In the stop mode press the button (11), play-

back will start, “►║ , will be displayed (6), the track number will take turns with the folder number, format of the track “ MP3” or “ WMA” will be displayed in the upper part of the display.

- In the playback mode to move 10 tracks for-

ward, press the (4) PROG +10 button.

Pause

- To pause the playback press the button (11), the ►║ and the number of the track will be flashing on the display (6).

- To resume the playback, press the button (11) once again.

Stop the playback

- To stop the playback press the button (5), total number of the tracks on the disc will appear on the display (6).

Moving to the beginning of the previous track or to the next track.

- During the playback or in the pause mode, to move to the previous or the next track press the buttons (15) /.

Moving to the playback of a certain fragment of a track

- In the playback mode press and hold the buttons (15) / for quick moving to the playback of a certain fragment of a track.

Note:

- in the quick moving to the fragment of a track mode, when one of the buttons (15) / is pressed, the sound is not played back.

- with long pressing or holding the (15)  button, playback will start from the beginning of the track, in which certain place of the playback of the track fragment was selected.

Repeated playback of a track or a disc

- To repeat one track press the (12) REP once, “REP” will appear on the display.

Repeated playback of the album (ALBUM)

To repeat all tracks of the album (one of the folders “F”) press the (12) REP button twice, “ALBUM” will appear on the display.

Repeated playback of all tracks on the disc

- To repeat all tracks on the disc press the (12) REP three times, “REP ALL” will appear on the display (6).

Random playback of the recorded tracks

- To playback all tracks in the random order, press the (12) REP button four times, “RAND” will appear on the display (6).

Improper usage is always the case of trouble or bad playback. If you consider that there is something wrong with the unit, check possible causes in this table. If you have not managed to solve the problem, apply to the nearest authorized service center.

Во избежание ухудшения слуха при про-• слушивании магнитолы через наушники не устанавливайте повышенную громкость звука, эксперты не советуют прослушивать магнитолу длительное время на повышенной громкости; если вы слышите звон в ушах, уменьшите громкость или прекратите прослушивание. Запрещается размещать на корпусе • устройства источники открытого пламени, например, свечи.

Во избежание поражения электрическим • током, нанесения травм и порче домашнего имущества не роняйте и не вставляйте посторонние предметы в любые отверстия корпуса устройства.

Во избежание поражения электрическим • током никогда не разбирайте устройство самостоятельно; при обнаружении неисправности обращайтесь только в авторизованный (уполномоченный) сервисный центр.

Повреждения, требующие ремонта

В описанных ниже ситуациях необходимо выключить устройство, вынуть вилку сетевого шнура из розетки и обратиться в авторизованный (уполномоченный) сервисный центр для ремонта устройства:

- повреждена вилка сетевого шнура или поврежден сам сетевой шнур;

- попадание в корпус устройства посторонних предметов;

- устройство попало под дождь или на него разлили воду.

Уход за устройством

Перед чисткой выключите устройство и выньте вилку сетевого шнура из розетки. Для чистки корпуса устройства используйте мягкую влажную ткань. Запрещается использовать абразивные моющие средства и растворители.

Уход за дисками

- Не используйте треснутые или деформированные диски, это может вызвать поломку устройства.

- Берите диск только за края. Не прикасайтесь к рабочей поверхности диска. Пыль, царапины или отпечатки пальцев на рабочей поверхности диска могут привести к выходу его из строя.

- Не подвергайте диски воздействию прямых

солнечных лучей, источников тепла, высокой температуры и влажности.

- После использования уберите диск в фут-

ляр на хранение. Периодически протирайте рабочую поверхность диска мягкой тканью по направлению от центра к краям.

Перед началом работы

Извлеките магнитолу из упаковки. Откройте крышку (7) и извлеките защитный вкладыш, закройте крышку (7) перед началом использования. Удалите все рекламные этикетки/наклейки с верхней и передней части магнитолы, которые мешают работе устройства.

ПОДКЛЮЧЕНИЕ ПИТАНИЯ Питание от сети

Перед подключением устройства к электрической сети убедитесь, что напряжение в сети соответствует рабочему напряжению устройства.

- Для подключения устройства к электриче-

ской сети вставьте разъем сетевого шнура в гнездо (17), а сетевую вилку - в розетку.

- Установите переключатель (2) FUNCTION в

положение CD или RADIO.

- Для выключения устройства установите пе-

реключатель (2) FUNCTION в положение OFF.

Питание от батареек

- Отключите магнитолу от сети.

- Откройте крышку батарейного отсека (18).

- Строго соблюдая полярность, указанную внутри батарейного отсека, установите 8 батареек типоразмера «С», «LR14», «UM 2» (1,5 В) (батарейки не входят в комплект поставки).

- Закройте крышку батарейного отсека.

Внимание!

- Не используйте одновременно батарейки различных типов, например, щелочные и марганцево-цинковые. Для питания устройства следует использовать батарейки только одного типа.

- При замене батареек не используйте одновременно старые и новые батарейки.

- При нестабильной работе устройства проверьте батарейки и при необходимости замените их.

- Вынимайте батарейки, если устройство не будет использоваться в течение длительного времени.

- Неправильное использование батареек может привести к утечке электролита и повреждению устройства.

Примечание: Когда устройство находится в режиме ожидания, оно все еще потребляет электроэнергию, чтобы полностью отключить устройство, извлеките вилку сетевого шнура из розетки.

Подключение наушников

Для прослушивания магнитолы через наушники (в комплект поставки не входят) подключите их к гнезду (1) PHONES. Установите желаемый уровень громкости регулятором (3) VOLUME. При подключении наушников динамики магнитолы отключатся автоматически.

Внимание! Не воспроизводите через наушники звук повышенной громкости. Во избежание ухудшения слуха при прослушивании магнитолы через наушники не устанавливайте повышенную громкость звука, эксперты не советуют прослушивать магнитолу длительное время на повышенной громкости.

ОСНОВНЫЕ ФУНКЦИИ Регулировка уровня громкости

Для установки желаемого уровня громкости используйте ручку регулировки громкости (3)

VOLUME.

Прием радиостанций

Установите переключатель (2) 1. FUNCTION в положение RADIO. Выберите желаемый диапазон: AM, FM, FM 2. ST, установив переключатель диапазонов (14) BAND в соответствующее положение. Вращая ручку настройки радиостанций 3. (13) TUNING, выберите желаемую радиостанцию. По окончании прослушивания установите 4. переключатель (2) FUNCTION в положение OFF.

Примечания:

- при настройке на станцию, передающую

стереосигнал, загорается индикатор (9) FM ST, находящийся на шкале настройки радио (10).

- в условиях плохого приема могут наблю-

даться помехи (при этом индикатор (9) будет мигать), в этом случае установите переключатель (14) BAND в положение FM, при этом звук будет воспроизводиться в монофоническом режиме, но уровень помех значительно снизится.

Антенна

- Для наилучшего приема в диапазоне FM вы-

тяните полностью антенну (8) и сориентируйте ее под нужным углом.

- Для наилучшего приема в диапазоне АМ по-

пробуйте различные варианты ориентации устройства в горизонтальной плоскости.

Воспроизведение CD дисков Установка диска – Откройте крышку (7) от-

сека для дисков. Установите CD диск этикеткой вверх и закройте крышку (7) отсека для дисков.

Извлечение диска – После остановки воспроизведения откройте крышку (7), при этом на дисплее (6) отобразится символ «ОР» и извлеките диск. Уберите диск в футляр. Всегда закрывайте крышку (7) отсека для дисков, чтобы предотвратить попадание в него пыли. Всегда извлекайте диск из отсека, если он не воспроизводится.

Подключите устройство к электросети.1. Выберите режим воспроизведения CD 2. дисков. Для этого установите переключатель (2) FUNCTION в положение CD, при этом загорится подсветка дисплея (6). Откройте крышку (7), установите диск эти-3. кеткой вверх и закройте крышку (7).
