Outside the United States, your selling dealer, national sailing federation or local yacht club can advise you of local sea school s or competent instructors.
Engines/Accessories Guidelines
Your boats engines and a ccessories were selected to provide optimum performance and service. Installing different engines or other accessories may cause unwanted handling characteristics. Should you choose to install different engines or to add accessories that will affect the boats running trim, have an expe ri enc ed mar ine technician perform a safety inspection and handling test before operating your boat again.
Please be advised that certain modifications to your boat can result in cancellation of your warranty protection. Always check with your dealer before making any modifications to your boat.
The engines and accessories installed on your boat come with their own operation and maintenance manuals. We strongly urge you to read and understand these manuals before operating the engines and accessories.
Qualified Ma intenance
Failure to maintain your boat’s systems as designed could violate the laws in your jurisdiction and could expose you and other people to the danger of bodily injury or accidental death. We recommend that you follow the instructions provided in the owners manual this owner's manual supplement, the engine owners manual and all accessory instruction sheets/manuals included in your boats owner’s packet.
CONTROL HAZARD! A qualified operator must be i n contr ol of the yac ht at all t imes. DO NOT operate your yacht while under the infl uence of alcohol or drugs.

The command bridge, transom platform and bow platform are designed to be lightweight for proper boat balance. The load limit for these platforms is 30 pounds per square foot, evenly distributed.
Safety Standards
Your boats mechanical and electrical systems were designed to meet safety standards in effect at the time it was built. Some of these standard s were manda ted by law, all of them were designed to insure your sa fety, and the safety of other people, vessels and property.
In addition to this owner’s manual supplement, please read the owner’s manual and all accessory instruction sheets for important safety standards and hazard information.
Hazard Boxes & Symbols
The hazard boxes and symbols shown below are used throughout this supplement to call attention to potentially dangerous situations which could lead to either personal injury or product damage. We urge you to read these
warnings carefully and follow all safety recommen dations.
DANGER

Special Care For Moored Boats
If moored in saltwater or fresh water, your boat will collect marine growth on its hull bottom. This will detract from the boat’s beauty, greatly affect its performance and may damage the gelcoat. There are two methods of slowing marine growth:
Periodically haul t he bo at out of the water a nd scr ub the hu ll bot tom wi th a br istl e brus h and a s olu tion of soap a nd
water.
The hull below the waterline was painte d with anti-f oulin g paint by t he fact ory. Occasiona lly you wil l need to
re-paint it with a good grade of anti-fouling paint.
NOTICE
To help seal the hull botto m and reduce the possibi lity of gelcoa t bliste ring on moored boats,
we recommend the application of an epoxy barr ier coating, such as INTERLUX, Interprotect 2000E/2001E. The barrier coating should be c overed with several coats of anti -f ouli ng pai nt.
Many states regulate the che mical cont ent of bot tom paint s i n order to meet envi ronmental
standards. Check with your local dealer about recommended bottom paints, and about the laws in effect in your ar ea.

Yacht Lifting
When lifting your yacht, always fol-
low the owners manual recommendations as well as the lift equipment’s requirements and safety guidelines.
If water is present in the bilge, pump
the water out of the bilge areas before lifting your yacht. Excessive amounts of bilge water add weight and can shift and change the balance of the load.
Always position the lifting slings at
the port and starboard sling label positions (see drawing on right).

Anchor Windlass
Your yacht features an anchor windlass. Be sure to read the windlass manual supplied in your yacht’s owners packet for detailed operating instructions and observe the following:
To haul the anchor, use engine power (not the
windlass) to move the boat to, and directly above, the anchor. Activate the windlass to disengage the anchor from the bottom by pulling it straight up.
Verify that the windlass breaker is activated
before using the anchor windlass.
Davit (Option)
Your yacht may be equipped with an optional electric davit. Before using the davit, be sure to read the davit’s manual which explains operation, and important safety hazards.
Observe the following:
The davit c ontrol plugs into the back
side of the davit, just above the davit base (see figure 1 at right).
Inspect the davit’s cable often for
wear and replace if fray ed. The cabl e should be kept tight and even on the spool when under tension during winch operation. (figure 2).
Secure the davit to the davit eye (located
on the transom platform) when the davit is not in use (figure 3).
