Superior Tape Stability and Reliability – Maxell data cartridges are manufactured with state-of-the-art technology for high performance and superior quality.
Proprietary, high-coercivity, corrosion resistant Ceramic Armor Metal Particles provide superior data protection, high signal-to-noise ratio and low error rate.
Low abrasive tape increases drive head life.
Highly efficient error correction coding ensures reliable recovery of data.
High-Precision Servo Tracking (HPST) – Superior measurement stability using stable PEN base film.
Very smooth and rigid film provides extremely stable and reliable data recording/playback.
Dual servo bands insure smooth reads and writes. If one servo element fails or a portion of tape servo code becomes corrupt, the head will continue to track using the second servo system.
Encryption capabilities designed to enable hardware-based writing of encrypted data to the cartridge, helping to protect the storage and transport of sensitive information.
Available in WORM – Prevent data from being over-written or erased. Meets regulatory compliance requirements.

The Maxell proprietary cartridge locking mechanism prevents unwanted tape movement and slack during transportation and storage.
Heavy-duty leader pin, designed in collaboration with leading drive manufacturers, is strong enough to stand up to 20,000 load/unload operations.
Cartridge is manufactured using high-precision molding technology and spot welding for superior shock resistance, helping to keep error rates low and reliability high.
The cartridge semiconductor memory device facilitates high-speed data searches and management of cartridges in libraries.

• Cartridge withstands impacts during use, as well as shipping and handling, and resists abrasion during drive insertion and ejection.
Proprietary Cartridge Locking Mechanism locks tape in place preventing tape movement and slack from vibrations.
Innovative Positive Linking Tape Leader system, designed in collaboration with Quantum, is tested at 5,000 loads/unloads.
