Note: The telephone works in the GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz network. Insert correctly at least one SIM card prior to switching on your phone.
1 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting the Maxcom telephone. Our telephones are intended to be used in GSM network and they meet all European standards. Your phone might be used in multiple networks depending on roaming settings provided by a telephone service provider. To use the telephone, the User must select GSM service offered by a service provider. The telephone has multiple good features, the telephone performance, however, depends on service available through the GSM network selected. For more information, contact your service provider. This Manual has been published by the Manufacturer. The Manufacturer reserves the right to make any updates and modifications arising from errors and inaccuracies in current information or from upgrades in the telephone and software without prior notification; the updates, however, will be reflected in updated versions of the Manual. 3 SAFETY GUIDELINES
Reading these guidelines presented below will minimize the risk of misusing the phone.
USING the telephone emits electromagnetic field that
might negatively interfere with other electronic devices including medical equipment.
You mustn’t use your phone in any area where the use of
mobile phones is prohibited such as hospitals, airplanes, refueling points or in proximity to flammable materials. Using mobile phones in such places might expose others to danger.
You mustn’t use your phone without hands-free
accessories while driving.
The device and its accessories might contain small parts.
Keep your phone and all parts out of the reach of children.
SERVICING - never repair or modify your phone by your
own. Only qualified service is authorized to repair the phone.
CLEANING your phone mustn’t be cleaned with any
chemicals or caustic substances.
TORCH – never look directly into the stream of light.  HEARING DEVICE – if the user has a hearing device,
phone volume and hearing aid sensitivity should be carefully adjusted.
ELECTRONIC MEDICAL DEVICES Your phone is a
radio transmitter that might interfere with electronic medical devices or implants such as hearing aids, heart pacemakers or insulin pumps, etc. A minimum distance

of 15 cm is recommended to be kept between a telephone and an implanted medical device. For more information consult your physician or manufacturers of such medical devices.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT to minimize the risk of
demagnetization, keep your phone away from electrical devices for longer time.
DISPLAY you should avoid pressing the LCD display
too hard and using sharp tools as doing so might damage the phone.
You mustn’t press battery connectors with metal objects
as the battery may explode.
You mustn’t expose your phone to low or high
temperatures, direct sunlight or high humidity. Keep your phone away from heating devices such as radiators, heaters, ovens, furnaces, camp fires, barbeque, etc.
Protect your hearing:
Long exposure to loud sounds might damage your hearing. Listen to music at a moderate level and do not hold the device next to your ear while using speakers. Prior to hooking the earpiece, always lower the volume.

4 TELEPHONE DESCRIPTION

3, 4 Left Function Key (LFK)/Right Function Key (RFK): Performs functions of display in the bottom left/right corner.
5. Make Call button is used to place/answer phone calls on SIM1 card or SIM2 card if two SIM cards have been inserted into the phone. In Idle mode, press this button to see the most recent dialed number.
Power On/Off Button, End/Abort Call. Enables to end or

reject an incoming phone call. Press and hold this button to

SWITCH your phone ON or OFF. Also, the button returns your phone to Idle mode while the phone is in other options.
Navigation keys: allow the cursor to move left, right, up and down or to scroll through the menu. In Idle mode press the key Up/Down/Left/Right to display a specific menu (depending on how they were
predefined [Settings/Phone Settings/Dedicated Keys])
OK Key: In Idle mode, press this key to directly access the main menu. This key’s functions are generally
identical to the LFK functions.
Numerical keys: The keys are to input a number or to input text while editing. Press and hold the key [0] to
switch on/off the torch.
Key and key #: In Idle mode, press and hold
this key # to activate or deactivate silent mode; press the LFK and next to lock or unlock the keypad. Depending on menu, the keys might have different functions. 11 Earpiece/charging port 12 Microphone 13 Camera lens 14 Torch indicator 15 Speaker.

4.1 DISPLAY ICONS AND SYMBOLS

Description
Signal strength level: the more lines, the stronger the signal. SIM1/SIM2: displays 1 or 2 in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Alarm is set and activated
Missed phone call: This icon will appear as soon as a phone call on SIM1/SIM2 is not answered
Keypad lock: this icon will appear as soon as the keypad is locked.

Text message icon: is displayed at the top of the display screen to notify you about a new, unread text message

Note: To save power, a display automatically goes to Idle mode

after certain time. To turn on the display backlight press the RFK or the End Call button.
5 GETTING STARTED
5.1 SIM Card Installation
The telephone can hold two SIM cards. Insert at least one SIM card into your phone prior to using it. You will receive the SIM card from your service provider. Keep the SIM card away from children. Any scratching or bending might easily damage the SIM card. Therefore, pay close attention not to damage your SIM card while inserting, removing, and storing it. Do not insert or remove SIM cards while your phone is connected to the charger. Prior to removing the battery, make sure your phone is switched off. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold connectors of the card face downward into the phone.
5.2 Memory Card Installation
A Micro SD memory card with 8 GB might be installed on the phone. While shaking the phone, the memory card might change its position; do not bend or scratch the card, do not expose the card to static electricity or dust, do not immerse the card in water.
1 First, switch off the phone,
disconnect the power adaptor, and

remove the battery,
2 Slide the card pin to your left, and lift up the released end of
the card.
3 Insert the memory card with the metal connectors face
downward (pay close attention to notches)
4 Close the memory card holder by sliding the pin to your right.
Be careful while using the memory card particularly while installing and uninstalling the card. Some memory cards shall be formatted on the computer prior to an initial use. If you use SD cards, regularly make backup copies of any data stored on cards in other devices! Misuse of the card or other factors might cause damage or loss of entire data stored on the card.
5.3 Battery Installation:
1. Unscrew the screw on the back of your phone on the battery cover,
2. Lift up the back cover from the bottom either on the right or left side,
3. Insert the battery with the metal connectors facing downwards,
4. Replace the back cover by placing it flat on the back of the phone and push it up until it clicks into place,
5. Screw the screw back on the battery cover.
5.4 Remove the Battery
Switch off the phone. Unscrew the screw on the back of the phone, slightly lift up the back cover either from right or left side, and remove the battery.
After removing the battery, any settings and data saved on the card or on the phone might be lost. Remove the battery only while the phone is switched off. Doing otherwise might cause the phone

to malfunction.
5.5 Charge the Battery
1. Plug the charger into a power outlet.
2. Open the cover flap on the micro-USB socket that is located at the top of the phone.
3. Plug the charger into a socket of the phone. A battery icon will start blinking after the charger is properly connected.
After the battery is fully charged and the battery icon stops blinking, unplug the charger.
If the battery is about to get discharged, the phone will emit a warning beep (if the warning beeps are enabled on the phone) and the message “Battery discharged” will appear; when the battery get discharged, the phone will automatically switch off. Do not leave the battery discharged for a long time as it might negatively affect the battery quality and the battery life. To ensure your phone works properly, use only the charger recommended by the Manufacturer. While charging, keep the back cover in place. While charging, place your phone in a well ventilated place with air temperature between 0°C ~ 45°C. If the battery gets totally discharged, it might take several minutes for a battery icon to appear and before the phone is ready to be used again.

5.6 Security Codes
5.6.1 PIN Code
PIN Code is the SIM card Personal Identification Number and it is provided by the service provider. PIN2 code is provided by the service provider along with SIM cards. Some SIM cards do not have such codes. If you enter incorrect PIN three times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. The card might be unblocked by using Personal Unblocking Key [PUK]. Entering incorrect PUK ten times in a row will permanently block the SIM card. For more information, contact your service provider.
5.7 Phone Security Code
Phone Security Code does not allow other people to use your phone without authorization (default code is 0000). In order to protect your personal data, the default security code should be changed.
6 USING THE PHONE
6.1 Switching On/Off
Press and hold the End Call button to switch the phone on/off.
1. If there is a single SIM card in the phone, an input text bar will be displayed on the screen for you to enter a security code and PIN code (if security features are enabled). After the PIN and the security code are entered, the phone will go to Idle mode for a current SIM card.
2. If there are two SIM cards in the phone (depending on security settings) an input text bar might be displayed for you to enter the PIN Code for SIM1 and the PIN Code for SIM2. You will be prompted to enter one PIN after the
