WARNING
Make sure to read an d follo w all saf ety pro cedures to avoid electri c shock a nd/or i njury.
The MS2030 is a safe , relia ble, ye t small handheld 3 ½ digit dig ital cl amp met er. Capa ble of measuring AC current, AC/DC vo ltage , resis tance, diode’s forw ard voltage drop, an d conti nuity, it’s i deal fo r both home users and profes siona ls.
2.Safety Inst ru ctions
The MS2030 meets E N6101 0-1 saf ety requiremen ts for electrical tes ting in strum ents and handhel d digit al multimeters. I t’s d esigned to compl y with EN 61010 -1 with a CAT III 600V safety ra ting an d pollu tion degree of 2.
• All safety guidel ines ou tline d should be follow ed otherwise the pr otect ion pro vided by the instr ument may be impaired.
• War ning sy mbols in the manua l alert u sers of p otential dangerous situ ation s.
• Precautions ar e to prev ent the u ser from damagin g the instrument o r the tes t objec t.
2.1 Precaution s
To avoid poss ible el ectri c shock , personal injur y or damage to the mete r, pleas e obser ve the following :
1. Before using th e meter, c heck th e meter for damage during transpo rt.
2. Check the test le ads for d amage t o the insulation o r wires before use .
3. Ensure the mete r works p roper ly by testing a know n voltage first. I f not wor king pr operl y, have th e meter serviced befor e using .
4. Never exceed th e prote ction l imit values indi cated in the specifica tions f or each r ange of measurem ent.
5. Always use cauti on when m aking v oltage measurements a bove 60 V dc or 30V a c rms.
6. Make sure to use th e corre ct inpu t jack, function a nd range when measu ring.
7. Do not place the me ter in an y envir onment with dust , explosive gas or v apor.
8. Always keep fing ers beh ind the p robe barriers.
9. Connect the com mon tes t lead fi rst, th en the hot le ad. Disconnect in re verse o rder.
10. Turn off powe r and dis charge capacit ors bef ore measuring resi stanc e, diod es or continuity.
11. Fail ure to fo llow sa fety guideline s may pre vent th e meter’s b uilt in protecti on from w orkin g properly.
12. To avoid d amage o r incorre ct read ings, c heck fo r AC voltage presen t befor e makin g DC voltage measurements .
13. Do not use the met er with t he batt ery cover not securely in plac e.
14. When the “ ”symb ol appe ars, re place t he batter ies to avoid incorre ct read ings
15. Before openi ng the ca se, alw ays disconnect t est leads from all ene rgize d circu its.
16. Only use the tes t leads p rovid ed with the meter. Replace only wit h simil ar lead s with matching specificatio ns.
17. Do not touch inp ut jack s durin g measurement to avoid electric s hock.
18. Before switc hing fu nctio ns, remove test le ads fro m an circuit.

Tip s for mea suring resista nce:
- Sometimes the re sisto r value a nd measured resi stanc e diffe r.This i s due to th e meter’s o utput test curre nt goes through all poss ible pa ths bet ween leads.
- For low resistan ce meas ureme nts, short the tes t leads and record the res istan ce disp layed. Then co nnect t o the circuit and su btrac t the rec orded resistan ce from the measuremen t for the m ost acc urate r esults.
WARNING
To avoid i njury o r damag e to the me ter, make su re to turn off all powe r and dis charg e all cap acitors before measuri ng resi stanc e.
4.6 Continuity
1. Turn off all pow er and di scharge capaci tors on t he circuit under te st.
2. Insert the red te st lead i n the “IN PUT” ja ck and the black lead in the “C OM” jac k.
3. Move the rotary s witch t o the pos ition . Connect the test leads acr oss the c ircui t to be mea sured.
4. Read measured r esist ance on t he display. If th e measured resis tance i s less th an 70Ω, the meter’s buzzer will soun d.
WARNING
To avoid i njury o r damag e to the me ter, make su re to turn off all powe r and dis charg e all cap acitors before measuri ng cont inuit y.
4.7 Diode Test
4.Read the measu red for ward bi ased voltage dro p on the display. If the l eads ar e reversed, only “ 1” is dis playe d.
WARNING
To avoid i njury o r damag e to the me ter, make su re to turn off all powe r and dis charg e all cap acitors before measuri ng diod es.
