1 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a Martin Audio CS265P, a powered sub-bass system designed to be used with the C115 and C516 Contractor Series loudspeakers. It incorporates two powerful 6.5" (165mm) drive units in an ultra-compact enclosure powered by an internal 150 watt amplifier.
2 UNPACKING
Each Martin Audio loudspeaker is built to the highest standard and thoroughly inspected before it leaves the factory. After unpacking the system, examine it carefully for any signs of transit damage and inform your dealer if any such damage is found. It is suggested that you retain the original packaging so that the system can be repacked at a future date if necessary.
Please note that Martin Audio and its distributors cannot accept any responsibility for damage to any returned product through the use of non-approved packaging.
3 FEATURES
The CS265P has the following features: 150 watt bi-polar complementary output stage. Differential balanced, summed, dual XLR inputs. In-built limiters, to ensure the power module cannot clip. Auto signal ramp-up on switch on. This ensures that the sub-bass
output is brought up to its pre-set level over a two second period. Full protection against thermal overload.

4 MAINS CONNECTION
The CS265P is supplied in either 220-240 volt or 100-120 volt versions. Before connecting to the mains, ensure that the version you have is the correct voltage.
The CS265P is fitted with an IEC 320 mains receptacle with integral fuse holder. The 2 metre mains lead supplied is fitted with a 3-pin mains plug to UK BS1363.
Should this mains plug be removed and another plug substituted, the cable must be rewired as follows:
GREEN/YELLOW - EARTH BROWN - LIVE BLUE - NEUTRAL
W
ARNING: The CS265P must always be operated with the mains safety earth connected
Fuse rating for 220-240V version - 2 amp type T(L) Fuse rating for 100-120V version - 4 amp type T(L) Voltage tolerance on each version -5% +10%
5 INSTALLATION
The CS265P may be mounted in any orientation provided that there is adequate airflow around the power module to assist cooling. It should not be mounted in an environment where the ambient temperature can exceed 40 degrees C. This will result in thermal shutdown of the power amplifier module. Operation will be automatically resumed once the temperature has returned to a safe level.

6 SIGNAL CONNECTIONS
The CS265P is provided with two differential balanced inputs wired as follows:
Pin 1 Selectable Ground Lift/Ground/Open Circuit (See note below) Pin 2 Hot (+) Pin 3 Cold (-)
Impor
tant Note: The CS265P is supplied from the factory with pin 1 in the
Ground Lift position, with a 47R resistor between Signal 0V and Ground. Links on the printed circuit board can be changed to link Signal 0V direct to ground or removed completely (open circuit).
W
ARNING:The unit must be disconnected from the mains supply before
attempting these changes.
The two connectors are fed to a summing circuit which combines the left and right signals to a mono signal. For full-power output, both balanced inputs must be fed with a signal of 0dB (0.775V rms) with the input sensitivity control set fully clockwise. If only one mono signal is available, it can either be Y-split and fed to both inputs or, if only one input connector is used, the level of the input should be increased by +6dB (1.546V rms) to achieve the same output.
7 WARRANTY

During the warranty period Martin Audio will, at it's discretion, either repair or replace products which prove to be defective provided that the product is returned in its original packaging, shipping prepaid, to an authorised Martin Audio service agent or distributor.
