Efficient dual fan cooling
Can be controlled by Martin 2501 (32 pcs.), 2308 (8 pcs.), 2032 (32 pcs.), 3032 (96 pcs.).
Can be controlled by DMX 512 via Martin Interface.
Can run without controller using built-in random-sequence programmes with and without music trig. (Stand alone)
Built-in microphone for music triggering.
HOW TO INSTALL THE ROBOZAP
1.
Remove the 4 knurled screws and remove the casing. The lamps can now be installed.
2.
The desired gobos can be selected by turning the gobo wheel.
3.
Replace the casing and tighten the screws.
4.
Set the mains voltage switches (on the opposite end of the unit from the DIP switches) to the local mains voltage (115/230V).
CAUTION
It is extremely important that BOTH sw itches are set to the correct voltage.
OPERATING WITH A CONTROLLER
CONNECTING THE SERIAL TRANSMISSION LINK
1.
Connect the RoboZap, or the first unit in the link, to the controller, using the 10 metre XLR cable which came with the controller.
2.
To interconnect the units in the link you need an XLR-XLR cable e.g. a standard balanced microphone cable. Your local Martin Professional dealer can supply this.
3.
The units should be connected together in an order which gives the minimum cable length. This order has no influence on the address as far as the controller is concerned.
4.
The termination plug which came with the controller is plugged into the unused XLR socket on the last unit on the link.
SETTING THE OPERATING ADDRESS OF EACH ROBOZAP
Set the DIP switch to the address number you want each RoboZap to use. Please refer to the Address Settings table below.
IMPORTANT
THE CONTROLLER MUST NOT BE SWITCHED ON UNTIL 2 MINUTES
AFTER THE UNITS HAVE BEEN SWITCHED ON.

OPERATING WITHOUT A CONTROLLER (STAND ALONE)
When operating the RoboZap without a controller you have a choice of programs. Please refer to the Sequence Settings table below and set the DIP switches to the settings for the desired program. If you choose a music trig program, the program will start together with the music, otherwise the pre-programmed sequences start immediately.
Because the mains supp ly for the lamp has its own mai ns cable you can leave the motors, electronics and cooling fans on and manually swit c h the lamp on and off - also with your own lighting controller if you have one.
CAUTION
Lamps are very fragile when hot: do not move the units until they are cool.
This appendix shows the different address and sequence settings for the DIP switch on the RoboZap. The above settings refer to the pin(s) on the DIP switch which are set to the ON position.
