General information
This service manual contains information about how to
service M2GO HD.
Safety instructions
Before you carry out service work, read this document.
Installation and service work must comply with local
regulations and accepted codes of good practice.
Observe the safety instructions in the user manual for
the product.
This product is for professional use only. It is not for
household use. It presents risks of lethal or severe
injury due to electric shock. Read this service manual
before powering on or installing the M2GO HD
controller, follow the safety precautions listed below
and observe all warnings in this manual and printed on
the product.
If you have questions about how to operate the product
safely, please contact your Martin™ by Harman
supplier or call the Martin 24-hour service hotline at
+45-8740-0000, or in the USA at +1-888-832-4180.
Warning
This product is for indoor use only.
Warning
This is a product according to
Class A. In a domestic environment
this product may cause radio
interference in which case the user
may be required to take adequate
measures.
• Ensure that the power supply is electrically
grounded (earthed). Do not use ground lift
adapters.
• Only use a source of AC power that complies with
local building and electrical codes and that has
both overload and ground-fault protection.
• Only use the provided AC power supply and
power cords and use the correct connector for the
country of operation. Use of the factory provided
power cable is mandatory for operation in the US
and Canada.
• Disconnect the product from power immediately
if the power supply or cable or any cover or
component is wet or not in perfect condition. Do
not reconnect to power until the damaged item
has been repaired or replaced.
• Do not expose the product to rain or moisture.

• Allow free unobstructed airow to the bottom and
back of the product. Do not block the ventilation
slots.
• Only operate the console on a stable and solid
surface.
• Do not use the product if the ambient temperature
exceeds 40°C (104° F).
• Refer any service operation not described in this
manual to a qualied technician.
• Do not modify the product or install other than
genuine Martin™ by Harman parts.
• Transport the product only in suitable packaging
or a custom tted road case. Transportation
damage is not covered under warranty.
• Protect the internal touch screen from sharp
objects and operate the screen using a nger
only.
Caution
Risk of re and electrical shock. Only
use the product in dry locations.
Caution
Risk of explosion if the CMOS
battery is replaced with an incorrect
type. Dispose of used batteries
according to local environmental
regulations.
Caution
Do not expose the CMOS battery to
excessive heat such as sunshine or
re.
Tools
Make sure that the tools below are available before you
start working on the product:
• Torx 10
• Torx 20
• Protective foam and cloth
• ESD mat and wristband.

Product information
Before you start servicing the product, do the following:
• Disconnect all cables and the power input cord
from the controller.
• Place the M2GO HD controller on a soft, at
surface.
• Use an ESD secure workstation and an ESD
wristband.

Repair and maintenance
Opening the M2GO HD controller
1. Fold down the screen assembly (1) completely so
it rests on the front panel.
2. Remove the four screws (2) on the front of the unit
using a Torx 10 key.

3. Remove the eight screws (3) using a Torx 10 key.
There are four screws on each side of the back
side of the unit.

4. Remove the two screws (4) on each side of the
middle hinge using a Torx 20 key.

5. Loosen the two screws (5) on the bottom of the
left and right screen hinge using a Torx 20 key.

6. Loosen the two screws (6) on the back of the unit
using a Torx 10 key.

7. Carefully tilt the screen assembly away from the
front panel until you cannot open it any further.
NOTE! The hinges will detach from the back panel
but they are still connected with the two black
screws on the bottom of the hinges.
8. Use a protective foam or cloth over the touch
screen.
9. Carefully lift up the front panel from the base
assembly.
10. Carefully rotate the front panel towards the screen
assembly and place it on the protective foam or
cloth.

Removing the screen cover
1. Remove the nine screws using a Torx 10 key.

2. Carefully lift up the plastic cover from the left side
(the side with no encoder wheels) and rotate it
towards you to the left bottom side.

3. Lift up the cover at the top, right-hand corner and
away from the hinge.
4. Remove the plastic cover from the screen
assembly.
Updating software and OS
Update the software and OS according to the separate
installation procedures. You nd the procedures on
martin.com.
You nd the OS and M-Series software for your M1 HD
controller on controllersupport.martin.com.
Maintenance
Read the user manual before performing service or
maintenance on the product.
Failure to respect service and maintenance schedules
may cause damage that is not covered by product
warranties.
Cleaning the product
Do not use abrasive, caustic or solvent-based products
for cleaning, as they can cause surface damage.
• Vacuum or gently blow away dust and loose
particles from the front panel with low-pressure
compressed air.
• Remove any dust between the fader slots.
• Vacuum or gently blow away dust and loose
particles from within the base assembly with lowpressure compressed air.
• Check the fan blades of the CPU fan and PSU
fan. Remove any dust build-up if needed and
make sure the fans can rotate gently. Never force
the rotation of the fans using compressed air.
• Wipe the touch-screen with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Apply gentle pressure only.
• Clean the touch screen on the front panel with a
soft, lint-free cloth.
