Standard No. 6 Press
Standard No. 4 Press
General Description
Marshalltown presses are designed to provide speed, strength, safety, durability, and
economical operation and maintenance. All assembly parts are accurately machined and fitted by means of jigs and fixtures, assuring proper performance and making parts interchangeable. Only the highest grade and most carefully, selected materials are used.
Increased depth of die space is provided by the design, allowing for the use of
leader pin dies.
Rugged Semi-Steel Frame
The frame is a one piece semi-steel casting so designed and proportioned as to give maximum rigidity and special reinforcement in the bearings and the throat. Tie rod lugs are cast on the frames of the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 presses. The main shaft bearings are large in length and diameter. Inclining attachments are furnished
on all sizes at no extra charge.
Chrome
The crankshaft is a solid chrome nickel steel forging, and the clutch housing is forged integral with the shaft. The shaft, large in both bearing and crank, extends out on the left side, so that a collar tor automatic feed can be attached. Main bearings have
felt oilers in the cap. The brake band is in two halves, hinged at the back and held to gether with a bolt and a lock nut. A spring maintains constant pressure.

Tool Steel Square Pin Clutch
The clutch is of the square pin pat tern and is very largegiving wide striking surface. The latch has a toggle connection to the treadle pro viding utmost safety. There
are three points of engagement in the flywheel, giving almost instantaneous action. A safety pin is provided to lock the clutch out of engagement, so that dies
may be set with safety while flywheel is in motion.
Above illustration shows self-adjusting Brake, self-oiling main bearings, bar knockout in slide, square hole for
punch shanks and safety lock for clutch pin.
Modifications
When so specified and at an extra charge
the following can be supplied
Change of stroke Increase in die space (No. 5 size only)
Intermittent brake
Flanged slide for large dies
Motor
drive (see page No. 4)
Back gearing (see page No. 5.)

Bronze Bushed Flywheel
The weight of the wheel is correctly pro portioned for the rated capacity of the press. The illustration shows the bronze bushing and the renewable steel striking and locking pins. The locking pins take up rebound as shaft passes over center when using spring, rubber or air cushions.
Wrist Pin Connection
This feature is more expensive to manufac
ture than the ordinary ball and socket connec-
tion but is vastly superior. Years of
HH operation show practically no wear.
The wrist is carefully fitted to a hand-
scraped perfect seat in the slide,

Pressure of operation is distributed

No. 0 Bench Press
Q
The Mighty Midget illustrated at the left has been developed in response to the demand lor a better than ordinary bench press. Heavier con struction, greater die space, improved ball and socket connection and easier adjustment are fea
tures of the design.
'1'he press is equipped with an improved con
vertible clutch, which permits either single stroke
continuous operation. The conversion is simply
or
and easily made. This press can be furnished for either individual motor drive or lineshaft opera tion. If the former, either V Belt or flat belt drive
is available.

illustration. See specification page for additional information.
Individual Motor Drive
When so specified and at an extra charge all flywheel or geared presses, except the convertible type, can be arranged for individual motor drive.
The individual belted motor drive on flywheel presses includes the bracket and the idler pulley.
V Belt motor drive, includes bracket, belt and sheave.
We can also furnish and mount motors and starters al current list prices, desired information pertaining to the voltage, kind of current, number of cycles, etc., should be given.
Ball bearing motors are recommended because lubrication is a consideration when presses are operated in the inclined position.
The approximate horsepower and speed of the
motors required for each press is shown on the
specification page.
