VAC-11SU3-2 Manual
Operations Manual
The Marshall VAC-11SU3-2 is a convenient tool that provides a high-quality connection between SDI video devices and a computer via a high speed USB 3.0 connection. Installation and operation of the converter is incredibly simple. Sources such as live video cameras are ideal to use with this converter.
Power for the converter is obtained directly from the USB 3.0 port on the host computer. There is no driver disk packed with this adapter as it works with drivers already installed in the host operating system. For convenience, a USB 3.0 Type A-A cable is packed with the unit. The rugged, compact case design includes a detachable mounting plate.
System Requirements
The VAC-11SU3-2 is designed to work with nearly any modern computer that has a USB 3.0 port and at least a dual core processor. Higher frame rates and larger formats will require faster computer processing. Works with Windows 7, 8 & 10, OSx 8.1 and above as well as most implementations of Linux.
Installation
Conrm that the computer system contains and supports USB 3.0 connections.
If the computer only contains USB 2.0 ports then camera resolution will need to be adjusted down to a passable resolution that USB2.0 supports - up to 720p60. If you try to feed a USB2.0 port USB3.0 rated HD video (1080p60) then the picture may freeze or stutter. After computer power up, plug the VAC-11HU3-2 into the USB connection port on computer, wait at least one minute to ensure that the computer discovers and loads correct drivers. In nearly all cases, the video input will be available once this process is complete. If video does not appear please consult computer instructions or manual to ensure all necessary video capture drivers are installed and operational on computer.
Operation
From this point, operation is controlled by the application. For example, in Skype(r), click on Tools, Options, and Video Settings and select XI1000USB. The audio source may be selected separately or use the embedded audio coming from the SDI connected source.
