Although the V-R84P-SDI is a sophisticated blend of digital and analog technologies, its operation is fairly straightforward. However, it is important to take note of the following:
1. Because the V-R84P-SDI must resample and resize every incoming signal; when switching functions, it
may be necessary to wait up to 2 seconds for the unit to lock on to the selected function.
3. The V-R84P-SDI uses 12VDC, 5.0amp regulated power. Be certain that these specifications are met when using a power supply other than the one supplied to you by Marshall Electronics.
4. The polarity configuration of the power connector is printed on the rear of the enclosure. Any battery operation of the V-R84P-SDI must have this polarity configuration.

5. The Digital and Analog inputs on the rear of the panel are 75 Ohm self-terminated. The V-R84P-SDI is also equipped with a 10-bit D/A convertor that converts the SDI input from that channel. This D/A convertor uses the SMPTE 259M standard and is reclocked.
6. The loop through feature uses active components and is always active as long as power is supplied to the unit regardless of the monitor being On or Off.
7. The VGA input of the V-R84P-SDI is accessed via the DB-15 connector on the back of the unit labeled ‘MONITOR’. This input accepts from 640x480 up to 1280x1024 with refresh rates from 60Hz to 85Hz. The unit will scale any input up or down to fit onto the screen. The native resolution of the V-R84P-SDI is 800 x 600.
TALLY SYSTEM - The tally system on the V-R84P-SDI is accessed via the DB-15 connector on the back of the unit labeled ‘TALLY’. The system works by closing the contacts between the ground pin and the corresponding LED pin. The system is self powered, DO NOT GIVE POWER TO THE PINS. The pinout is as follows:
