1. INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek Connect

VH51™! This device allows you to convert and upscale a VGA

signal with stereo audio to an HDMI signal. This is ideal when you
want to connect a video source with a VGA output (such as a PC)
to an HDTV or projector with an HDMI input. With built-in zoom
function to fit the image size.
Marmitek products are manufactured with the utmost care and are
exceptionally high quality. Please read this manual carefully and
follow the instructions in order to get the best from this product.

4. INSTALLATION

Before installation:

x Turn off all devices (HDTV and video source) before

connecting them to the Connect VH51™. If a device cannot
be turned off, please remove the plug from the socket.

x Only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best

picture and sound quality. Using too much force to connect
or disconnect the HDMI cables may damage them.

1. Use a VGA cable to connect the video source (such as a PC)
to the VGA input marked "VGA".

2. Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDTV or projector to the
HDMI output marked "HDMI".

3. Set the built-in selector switch to the desired output
resolution, 720p or 1080p.

4. If necessary, use the built-in zoom function to fit the image
size.

5. The Connect VH51™ is energy efficient and is powered by
the connected HDMI devices. No power adapter is required.

5. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No (or poor) image and sound

If you experience a poor picture or no picture after connecting the
HDMI converter, please try to identify the problem by connecting
the video source directly to a screen (PC monitor or projector).
This allows you to determine whether the problem is with the
video source, the VGA cable, the HDMI converter or the screen.
x If the connected HDMI device does not provide 5V power via

the HDMI cable, you need to power the HDMI converter via
the USB cable. Use the supplied USB power cable and plug
it into any available USB port on your other devices, or use a
standard USB power adapter.

x For the best picture and sound quality, only use High Speed

HDMI® certified cables.

x Do not use HDMI cables longer than those specified in the

technical data.

x Check the HDMI and VGA cables and/or connectors for

damage.

VH51™! Dieses Produkt verbessert und wandelt das VGA-Signal
mit Stereo Audio in ein HDMI-Signal um. Ideal, wenn Sie eine
Videoquelle mit VGA Ausgang (z.B. einen PC) an einen HDTV
oder Projektor mit HDMI Eingang anschließen möchten. Mit
eingebauter Zoom-Funktion um das Bildformat passend zu
machen.

3. VORZÜGE

x Konvertieren Sie ein VGA Signal (und Stereo Audio) in ein

4. INSTALLATION

Bevor Sie beginnen:

x Schalten Sie alle Geräte (HDTV und Videoquelle) zunächst

aus, bevor Sie diese an den Connect VH51™ anschließen.
Entfernen Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdose, falls dieser
nicht ausgeschaltet werden kann.

x Verwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und

Tonqualität ausschließlich High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte
Kabel. Verwenden Sie wenig Kraft, um die HDMI Kabel
anzuschließen oder loszukoppeln; diese könnten sonst
beschädigen.

1. Verbinden Sie die Videoquelle (beispielsweise den PC) mit
einem VGA Kabel mit dem Ausgang mit der Bezeichnung
“VGA“.

5. HÄUFIG GESTELLTE FRAGEN

Kein (oder schlechtes) Bild und Ton

Wenn Sie nach dem Anschließen des HDMI Converters
(Umwandler) kein, oder ein schlechtes Bild empfangen, versuchen
Sie dann, die Videoquelle unmittelbar an einen Bildschirm
anzuschließen (PC Monitor oder Projektor). Auf diese Art können
Sie ermitteln, ob das Problem an der Videoquelle, dem VGA
Kabel, HDMI Converter oder dem Bildschirm entsteht.
x Wenn das angeschlossene HDMI Gerät keine 5V Speisung

über das HDMI Kabel liefert, müssen Sie den HDMI
Converter über das USB Kabel mit Strom versehen.
Verwenden Sie dazu das enthaltene USB Speisungskabel
und schließen Sie dieses an einen willkürlichen, freien USB
Anschluss Ihrer übrigen Geräte an oder verwenden Sie einen
regulären USB Speisungsadapter.

x Verwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und

Tonqualität ausschließlich High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte
Kabel.

x Verwenden Sie keine HDMI Kabel, die länger sind als in den

technischen Daten aufgeführt

x Überprüfen Sie das HDMI- und VGA Kabel und/oder

Anschlüsse auf Beschädigungen.

4. INSTALLATION

Conseils d'installation:

x Eteignez tous les appareils (téléviseur HD et source vidéo)

avant de les connecter au Connect VH51™. S'il n'est pas

possible de les éteindre, débranchez la prise de courant

x Utilisez uniquement des câbles certifiés HDMI® High Speed

pour obtenir la meilleure qualité d'image et de son. Ne forcez
pas pour connecter ou déconnecter les câbles HDMI,

5. FOIRE AUX QUESTIONS

Pas d'image (ou image de mauvaise qualité) ni de son

Si après avoir connecté le convertisseur HDMI vous n'avez pas
d'image ou l'image est de mauvaise qualité, essayez de trouver la
cause du problème en connectant la source vidéo directement à
un écran (moniteur de PC ou projecteur). Vous pourrez ainsi
déterminer si le problème provient de la source vidéo, des câbles
VGA, du convertisseur HDMI ou de l'écran.
x Si l'appareil HDMI connecté ne fournit une alimentation de

5V par le biais du câble HDMI, vous devrez alimenter le
convertisseur HDMI par le biais du câble USB. Utilisez pour
cela le câble d'alimentation USB fourni et connectez-le sur
n'importe quel port USB disponible sur l'un de vos appareils
ou utilisez un adaptateur secteur USB standard.

x Utilisez uniquement des câbles certifiés HDMI® High Speed

Consejos para la instalación:

x Apaga todos los dispositivos (HDTV y fuente de video) antes

de conectarlos con el Connect VH51™. Si no se pueden

x Usa exclusivamente cables certificados para High Speed

HDMI® para recibir una calidad superior de imagen y
sondido. Conecta y desconecta los cables HDMI con mucho
cuidado para no dañarlos.

1. Conecta la fuente de video (p.e. ordenador) con la entrada
VGA indicada como “VGA” empleando un cable VGA.

5. PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

No hay imagen y sonido o son de calidad inferior

Si después de la conexión del conversor HDMI la imagen es de
mala calidad o no hay ninguna imagen, intenta averiguar la causa
del problema. Conecta la fuente de video directamente con la
pantalla (pantalla de ordenador o proyector). De esta manera
descubre si el problema es causado por la fuente de video, el
cable VGA, el conversor HDMI o la pantalla.
x Cuando el dispositivo HDMI conectado no entrega una

tensión de 5 V a través del cable HDMI, el conversor HDMI
se tiene que alimentar a través del cable USB. Conecta el
cable de alimentación USB suministrado con cualquier
puerto USB libre de los demás dispositivos o emplea un
adaptador de alimentación USB estándar.

x Emplea exclusivamente cables certificados de High Speed

È stato progettato per convertire e ottimizzare (‘upscaling’) un

segnale VGA con audio stereo a un segnale HDMI. È ideale per
collegare una sorgente video con uscita VGA (p.e. un PC) a un

4. INSTALLAZIONE

Consigli per l’installazione:

x Spegnere tutti i dispositivi (TV HD e sorgente video) prima di

collegarli al Connect VH51™. Se non è possibile spegnerli,
staccare la spina dalla presa di corrente.

x Utilizzare solo i cavi omologati High Speed HDMI® per la

migliore qualità audio e video. Utilizzare poca forza per
collegare o scollegare i cavi HDMI di modo che non saranno
danneggiati.

1. Collegare la sorgente video (p.e. un PC) all’ingresso VGA
denominato “VGA”, tramite un cavo VGA.

2. Collegare il TV HD o proiettore all’uscita HDMI denominata

5. DOMANDE FREQUENTI

Mancano l'immagine ed il suono o sono di cattiva qualità

Se le immagini sono di cattiva qualità o mancano dopo il
collegamento del convertitore HDMI, si deve cercare di identificare
il problema collegando la sorgente HDMI direttamente a uno
schermo (TV o proiettore). In questo modo è possibile
determinare se il problema si trova nella sorgente HDMI, nel cavo
HDMI, nel convertitore HDMI o nello schermo.
x Se il dispositivo HDMI collegato non fornisce 5V tramite il

cavo HDMI, si deve alimentare il convertitore HDMI tramite il
cavo USB. A tale scopo utilizzare il cavo di alimentazione
USB e collegarlo a qualsiasi porta USB libera degli altri
dispositivi o utilizzare un adattatore standard di
alimentazione USB.

x Per la migliore qualità di immagini e suono usare solo cavi

omologati High Speed HDMI®.

x Non usare cavi HDMI più lunghi di quanto indicato nei dati

tecnici .

x Assicurarsi che il cavo HDMI e VGA e/o i connettori non

4. INSTALLATIE

Tip voor installatie:

x Schakel alle apparatuur (HDTV en video bron) eerst uit

voordat u deze aansluit op de Connect VH51™. Indien deze

niet uitgeschakeld kan worden verwijder dan de stekker uit
het stopcontact.

x Gebruik uitsluitend High Speed HDMI® gecertificeerde

kabels voor de beste beeld- en geluidskwaliteit. Gebruik
weinig kracht om de HDMI kabels aan te sluiten of los te

van de aangesloten HDMI apparaten. Er is geen
voedingsadapter nodig.

5. VEEL GESTELDE VRAGEN

Geen (of slecht) beeld en geluid

Indien u slecht of geen beeld ervaart na het aansluiten van de
HDMI converter, probeer dan het probleem te achterhalen door de
video bron direct aan te sluiten op een scherm (PC monitor of
projector). Op deze manier kunt u bepalen of het probleem zich
bevindt in de video bron, de VGA kabel, de HDMI converter of het
scherm.
x Indien het aangesloten HDMI apparaat geen 5V voeding

levert via de HDMI kabel moet u de HDMI converter via de
USB kabel van stroom voorzien. Gebruik daarvoor de
meegeleverde USB voedingskabel en sluit deze aan op een
willekeurige vrije USB poort van uw overige apparatuur of
gebruik een standaard USB voedingsadapter.

x Gebruik uitsluitend High Speed HDMI® gecertificeerde

kabels voor de beste beeld- en geluidskwaliteit.

x Gebruik geen HDMI kabels die langer zijn dan gespecificeerd

De Europese Richtlijn 2002/96/EC schrijft voor dat apparatuur
die is voorzien van dit symbool op het product of de
verpakking, niet mag worden ingezameld met niet-gescheiden
huishoudelijk afval. Dit symbool geeft aan dat het product

voor de vernietiging van deze en andere elektrische en elektronische
apparatuur via de daarvoor door de landelijke of plaatselijke overheid
aangewezen inzamelingskanalen. De juiste vernietiging en recycling van
deze apparatuur voorkomt mogelijke negatieve gevolgen voor het milieu en
de gezondheid. Voor meer informatie over het vernietigen van uw oude
apparatuur neemt u contact op met de plaatselijke autoriteiten of
afvalverwerking dienst, of met de winkel waar u het product hebt
