1. INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek Connect 540 UHD™!
This HDMI Matrix Switcher allows you to connect four HDMI sources to two
screens (TV or projector). This is ideal when, for example, you want to send
the signal to another room with an HDMI Extender. Examples of HDMI
sources are game consoles such as a PlayStation or Xbox, Blu-ray players,
digital TV decoders and all other HDMI devices. The Connect 540 UHD™
supports Ultra HD (4k), Full HD (1080p) and all 3D formats, making it suitable
for all your existing and future equipment.
Marmitek products are manufactured with great precision and are of high

3. BENEFITS

4. INSTALLATION

Installation tips:

x Turn off all devices (TV and HDMI sources) before connecting them to

the Connect 540 UHD™. If a device cannot be turned off, please remove
the plug from the socket.

x Only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best picture and

sound quality. Using too much force to connect or disconnect the HDMI
cables may damage them.

1. Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI sources (such as game
consoles, Blu-ray players and Digital TV Decoders) to the HDMI ports
marked "HDMI input".

2. Use an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the HDMI port marked "HDMI
output".

3. Connect the power adapter to the "DC 5V" and insert the plug into the
socket.

4. Pull the plastic strip from the remote control's battery compartment to
activate the battery and remove the protective film from the top.

5. USE

Switching between connected HDMI devices

The Connect 540 UHD™ allows you to choose which HDMI source is
displayed on the TV. If you want to select another HDMI source, please use
the remote control or the "OUTPUT A / B" button on the front.

EDID settings

EDID stands for Extended Display Identification Data and is used for
communication between HDMI sources and screens, enabling you to
determine the supported display resolutions and audio formats. The HDMI
source requests this information from the screen and determines the best
resolution or audio format. When using multiple screens (TVs or projectors),
the best resolution and audio format that is supported by all connected
screens is determined.

This may cause problems in some situations, for example, when one of the
connected sources or screens does not fully support EDID. Using switches at
the front, you can manually enter the required video resolution and audio
format. See Appendix 1 on page 39 for an overview of the associated
settings.

Tip: In standard situations, always use the automatic setting, which will result
in sound and image on all connected screens. With manual settings, no
image or sound may be displayed on one or more screens if the appropriate
setting is not supported.

6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No (or poor) image and sound

If you experience poor or no picture after connecting the HDMI switcher,
please try to identify the problem by connecting the devices to your screen
(TV, monitor or projector) one by one. This allows you to determine whether
the problem is with the HDMI sources, the HDMI cables, the HDMI switcher
or the screen.

x Make sure the power adapter is connected and plugged in.
x For the best picture and sound quality, only use High Speed HDMI®

certified cables.

x Do not use HDMI cables longer than those specified in the technical

data.

x Check the HDMI cables and/or connectors for damage.
x Both the HDMI source and your screen should fully support HDMI.
x Check that your HDMI sources and screen support HDCP (High

Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) copy protection.

Incorrect 3D display

x Please check whether the HDMI source is set to display 3D and/or it is

set to automatic.

x Both the HDMI source and your HD screen should support the same 3D

formats.

x Please check that 3D is displayed correctly by connecting the HDMI

source directly to the HD display with an HDMI cable.

Dieser HDMI Matrix Switcher ermöglicht es, um 4 HDMI Quellen an 2
Bildschirme (TV oder Projektor) anzuschließen. Ideal, wenn Sie das Signal
beispielsweise mit einer HDMI Verlängerung in einen anderen Raum
weitersenden möchten. Beispiele von HDMI Quellen sind: Spielcomputer wie
PlayStation und XBox, Blu-Ray-Player, digitaler TV Decoder und alle
anderen HDMI Geräte. Der Connect 540 UHD™ unterstützt Ultra HD (4k),

3. VERWENDBARKEIT

x Schließen Sie 2 Fernseher oder –Projektoren an und schalten Sie

zwischen 4 angeschlossenen HDMI Geräten.

x HDMI Matrix Switch ermöglicht es, auf 2 Bildschirmen zugleich und

unabhängig voneinander Inhalte eines anderen HDMI Geräts zu sehen.

x Bestimmen Sie wenn gewünscht mit diesem einmaligen EDID Schalter

selber die Videoauflösung (4k2k, 1080p, 1080i) und das Audioformat

4. INSTALLATION

Bevor Sie beginnen:

x Schalten Sie alle Geräte (Fernseher und HDMI Quellen) bevor Sie diese

an den Connect 540 UHD™ anschließen zunächst aus. Entfernen Sie
den Stecker aus der Steckdose, falls diese nicht ausgeschaltet werden
können.

x Verwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und Tonqualität

ausschließlich High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte Kabel. Verwenden Sie
wenig Kraft, um die HDMI Kabel anzuschließen oder loszukoppeln; diese
könnten sonst beschädigen.

1. Schließen Sie HDMI Quellen (wie Spielcomputer, Blu-Ray Player und

digitaler TV Decoder) mit einem HDMI Kabel an die "HDMI Input“
Anschlüsse an.

2. Verbinden Sie den Fernseher mit einem HDMI Kabel an den HDMI

5. ANWENDUNG

Mit dem 540 UHD™ wählen Sie, welche HDMI Quelle auf Ihrem Fernseher
wiedergegeben wird. Verwenden sie die Fernbedienung oder die
“OUTPUT A / B“ Taste an der Vorderseite, wenn Sie eine andere HDMI
Quelle anwählen möchten.

EDID-Einstellungen
EDID bedeutet Extended Display Identification Data und wird für die
Kommunikation zwischen HDMI Quellen und Bildschirmen verwendet, um die
unterstützten Bildauflösungen und Audioformate zu bestimmen. Die HDMI

Quelle ruft diese Informationen vom Bildschirm ab und bestimmt die beste
Auflösung oder das beste Audioformat. Bei Verwendung mehrerer
Bildschirme (Fernseher oder Projektoren) wird bestimmt, welche die beste
Auflösung oder das beste Audioformat ist, .die von allen angeschlossenen
Bildschirmen unterstützt wird.
Das kann bisweilen zu Problemen führen, beispielsweise wenn eine der
angeschlossenen Quellen oder Bildschirme EDID nicht korrekt unterstützt.
Sie konnen mithilfe der Schalter an der Vorderseite manuell angeben, was
die gewünschte Videoauflösung oder das gewünschte Audioformat ist. In
Anlage 1 auf Seite 39 finden Sie eine Übersicht der dazugehörigen
Einstellungen.

Tipp: Verwenden Sie in Standardsituationen immer die Einstellung
Automatisch. Auf allen angeschlossenen Bildschirmen wird Bild und Ton
wiedergegeben werden. Bei manueller Einstellung kann es passieren, dass
Sie auf 1 oder mehreren Bildschirmen kein Bild oder keinen Ton empfangen,
wenn die Einstellung nicht unterstützt wird.

6. HÄUFIG GESTELLTE FRAGEN

Kein (oder schlechtes) Bild und Ton

Wenn Sie nach dem Anschließen des HDMI Switch kein, oder ein schlechtes
Bild empfangen, versuchen Sie dann die Geräte Stück für Stück an Ihren
Schirm anzuschließen (TV, Monitor oder Projektor), um zu sehen, wo das
Problem liegt. Auf diese Art können Sie ermitteln ob es an den HDMI
Quellen, den HDMI Kabeln, dem HDMI Switch oder dem Schirm liegt.

x Überprüfen Sie, ob der Speisungsadaptor angeschlossen ist und sich in

der Steckdose befindet.

x Verwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und Tonqualität

ausschließlich High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte Kabel.

x Verwenden Sie keine HDMI Kabel, die länger sind als in den

technischen Daten aufgeführt.

x Überprüfen Sie die HDMI Kabel und/oder Anschlüsse auf

Beschädigungen.

x Sowohl die HDMI Quelle wie Ihr Bildschirm muss HDMI vollständig

unterstützen.

x Prüfen Sie, ob Ihre HDMI Quellen und Bildschirm das

Verschlüsselungssystem HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital Content
Protection) unterstützen.

Keine korrekte 3D Wiedergabe

x Überprüfen Sie, ob die HDMI Quelle auf 3D Wiedergabe eingestellt

und/oder ob diese auf automatisch eingestellt ist.

x Sowohl die HDMI Quelle wie Ihr HD Bildschirm müssen dieselben 3D

Daten unterstützen.

x Überprüfen Sie, ob 3D korrekt wiedergegeben wird, indem Sie die HDMI

Quelle mit einem HDMI Kabel direkt an den HD Bildschirm anschließen.

4. INSTALLATION

Conseils d'installation :

x Eteignez tous les appareils (téléviseur et sources HDMI) avant de les

connecter au Connect 540 UHD™. S'il n'est pas possible de les
éteindre, débranchez la prise de courant.

x Utilisez uniquement des câbles certifiés HDMI® High Speed pour obtenir

la meilleure qualité d'image et de son. Ne forcez pas pour connecter ou
déconnecter les câbles HDMI, autrement cela pourrait les endommager.

1. Connectez la source HDMI (telle que console de jeux, lecteur Blu-ray et

Décodeur TV Numérique) avec un câble HDMI sur les ports HDMI avec
l'inscription “HDMI input” (“entrée HDMI”).

2. Connectez le téléviseur avec un câble HDMI sur le port HDMI avec

l'inscription “HDMI output” (“sortie HDMI”).

3. Connectez l'adaptateur secteur sur “DC 5V” et branchez la fiche dans la

prise de courant.

4. Retirez la languette de plastique du compartiment à pile de la

télécommande afin d'activer la pile et enlevez le film protecteur de la
partie supérieure.

5. UTILISATION

Basculez entre les appareils HDMI connectés

Le Connect 540 UHD™ vous permet de choisir la source HDMI que vous
souhaitez restituer sur le téléviseur. Si vous souhaitez sélectionner une autre
source HDMI, utilisez la télécommande ou appuyez sur le bouton
“OUTPUT A / B” situé sur le front de l'appareil.

Paramétrages EDID
EDID signifie Extended Display Identification Data (Données Étendues
d'Identification d'Affichage) et il est utilisé pour la communication entre les
sources HDMI et les écrans afin de déterminer les résolutions d'images et les
formats audio pris en charge. La source HDMI demande ces informations à
l'écran et détermine la meilleure résolution ou le meilleur format audio.
Lorsqu'on utilise plusieurs écrans (téléviseurs ou projecteurs) la meilleure

résolution et le meilleur format audio, pris en charge par tous les écrans
connectés, sont déterminés.
Dans certains cas cela peut causer des problèmes, par exemple lorsque
l'une des sources ou l'un des écrans connectés ne supporte pas bien l'EDID.
En utilisant les commutateurs situés sur le front de l'appareil vous pouvez
saisir manuellement la résolution vidéo et le format audio souhaités. Veuillez
consulter l'annexe 1 à la page 39 pour une liste des paramètres
correspondants.

Conseil : Dans des conditions normales utilisez toujours le mode
automatique ; l'image et le son seront restitués sur tous les écrans
connectés. Dans le cas de réglages manuels il se peut que l'image et le son
ne soient pas restitués sur 1 ou plusieurs écrans si le réglage concerné n'est
pas pris en charge.

6. FOIRE AUX QUESTIONS

Pas d'image (ou image de mauvaise qualité) ni de son

Si après avoir connecté le commutateur HDMI vous n'avez pas d'image ou
l'image est de mauvaise qualité, essayez de trouver la cause du problème en
connectant les appareils l'un après l'autre à votre écran (téléviseur, moniteur
ou projecteur). Vous pourrez ainsi déterminer si le problème provient des
sources HDMI, des câbles HDMI, du commutateur HDMI ou de l'écran.
x Assurez-vous que l'adaptateur secteur soit connecté et branché dans la

prise de courant.

x Utilisez uniquement des câbles certifiés HDMI® High Speed pour obtenir

la meilleure qualité d'image et de son.

x N'utilisez pas de câbles HDMI qui soient plus longs que ce qui est

spécifié dans les caractéristiques techniques.

x Assurez-vous que les câbles HDMI et/ou connecteurs ne soient pas

endommagés.

x La source HDMI ainsi que l'écran doivent supporter pleinement le HDMI.
x Assurez-vous que vos sources HDMI et votre écran supportent la

protection contre la copie HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital Content
Protection).

Pas d'affichage 3D correct
x Assurez-vous que la source HDMI soit paramétrée pour restituer les

images 3D et/ou qu'elle soit en mode automatique.

x Votre source HDMI ainsi que votre écran HD doivent supporter les

mêmes formats 3D.

x Assurez-vous que l'image 3D soit restituée correctement en connectant

4. INSTALACIÓN

Consejos para la instalación:

x Aapaga todos los dispositivos (TV y fuentes HDMI) antes de conectarlos

con el Connect 540 UHD™. Si no se pueden apagar, desenchufa el
cable de la toma de corriente.

x Usa exclusivamente cables certificados para High Speed HDMI® para

recibir una calidad superior de imagen y sondido. Conecta y desconecta
los cables HDMI con mucho cuidado para no dañarlos.

1. Conecta las fuentes HDMI (como videoconsola, reproductor Blu­Ray o decodificador digital de TV) con los puertos HDMI indicados
como “HDMI input” usando un cable HDMI.

2. Conecta el TV con el puerto HDMI indicado como “HDMI output”
usando un cable HDMI.

3. Conecta el adaptador de alimentación con el “DC 5V” y enchúfelo.

4. Quita la cinta de plástico del compartimento de la pila del mando a
distancia para activar la pila. A continuación quita la cinta protectora
de la cara superior.

5. EMPLEO

Conmutar entre los dispositivos HDMI conectados

Con el Connect 540 UHD™ selecciona la fuente HDMI cuyo contenido se
reproduce en la pantalla del TV. Para seleccionar otra fuente HDMI, emplea
el mando a distancia o el botón de “OUTPUT A / B” en la cara delantera.

Ajustes EDID

EDID signífica “Extended Display Identification Data“ y se usa para la

comunicación entre las fuentes HDMI y las pantallas para determinar las
resoluciones de imagen y los compatibles formatos de audio. La fuente
HDMI solicita esta información de la pantalla y determina cuales son la mejor
resolución o el mejor formato de audio. Cuando se emplean varias pantallas
(TVs o proyectores) se determinan la resolución y el formato de audio cuales
son compatibles con todas las pantallas conectadas.

Alguna vez esto puede causar problemas, por ejemplo cuando una de las
pantallas o una de las fuentes conectadas no es compatible con el EDID. En
este caso usa los conmutadores en la cara delantera para ajustar
manualmente la resolución de imagen y el formato de audio deseados. Ve
anexo 1 página 39 para un resumen de los ajustes.

Consejo: en situaciones estándares siempre hay que usar el ajuste
automático para que la imagen y el sonido se reproduzcan en todas las
pantallas conectadas. Cuando ajusta manualmente, la imagen o el sonido no
se reproducen el las pantallas que no son compatibles con el ajuste elegido.

6. PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

No hay imagen y sonido o son de calidad inferior

Cuando no hay imagen después de haber conectado el Conmutador HDMI o
cuando la imagen es de calidad inferior, intenta encontrar la causa
conectando cada dispositivo individualmente con la pantalla (TV, monitor o
proyectór). De esta manera se detecta si el problema es causado por las
fuentes HDMI, los cables HDMI, el conmutador HDMI o la pantalla.

x Controla si el adaptador de alimentación está enchufado.
x Emplea exclusivamente cables certificados de High Speed HDMI® para

una calidad superior de imagen y sonido.

x No emplea cables HDMI más largos que indicado en las

especificaciones de los datos técnicos.

x Controla si ninguno de los cables y/o conectores está dañado.
x Es necesario que tanto la fuente HDMI como las pantallas son

compatibles con el HDMI.

x Controla si las fuentes HDMI y las pantallas son copatibles con la

seguridad contra la copia de contenidos HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital
Content Protection).

El 3D no se reproduce correctamente

x Controla si la fuente HDMI está puesto en modo de reproducir el 3D y/o

si está puesto en modo automático.

x Tanto la fuente HDMI como la pantalla HD tienen que ser compatibles

con los mismos formatos de 3D.

x Controla si la fuente HDMI reproduce el 3D correctamente. Por este

objetivo, conéctala con la pantalla a traves de un cable HDMI.

Grazie a questo HDMI Matrix Switcher (commutatore a matrice) è possibile di
collegare 4 sorgenti HDMI a 2 schermi (televisore o proiettore). Ideale per
esempio per trasmettere il segnale ad un’altra stanza con estensore HDMI.
Esempi di sorgenti HDMI: console videogiochi come Playstation e Xbox,

4. INSTALLAZIONE

Consigli per l’installazione:

x Prima spegnere tutte le apparecchiature (TV e sorgenti HDMI) e poi

collegarle al Connect 540 UHD™. Quando non è possibile spegnerle,
rimuovere la spina dalla presa.

x Utilizzare solo i cavi omologati High Speed HDMI® per la migliore qualità

audio e video. Utilizzare poca forza per collegare o scollegare i cavi
HDMI di modo che non saranno danneggiati.

1. Collegare le sorgenti HDMI (come console videogiochi, lettore Blu-ray e

Decoder TV Decoder) alle porte HDMI con il testo “HDMI input”, tramite
un cavo HDMI.

2. Collegare il televisore ad una porta HDMI con il testo “HDMI output”,

tramite un cavo HDMI.

3. Collegare l’adattatore di alimentazione al “DC 5V” ed inserire la spina

nella presa.

4. Tirare la striscia di plastica dal vano batterie del telecomando per

attivare la batteria e togliere la pellicola protettiva dalla parte superiore.

5. USO

Commutare tra le apparecchiature HDMI collegate

Con il Connect 540 UHD™ si può scegliere quale sorgente HDMI è riprodotta
sul televisore. Per selezionare un’altra sorgente HDMI si deve usare il
telecomando o il tasto “OUTPUT A / B” sul davanti.

Impostazioni EDID
EDID è l’acronimo per Extended Display Identification Data e viene utilizzato
per la comunicazione tra le sorgenti HDMI e gli schermi, per determinare le
risoluzioni dell’immagine ed i formati audio. La sorgente HDMI chiede queste
informazioni allo schermo e determina la migliore risoluzione o formato audio.
In caso di più schermi (televisori o proiettori) viene determinato quale
risoluzione o formato audio viene supportato da tutti gli schermi collegati.

In alcune situazioni questo può causare problemi, per esempio quando una
delle sorgenti o schermi collegati non supporta bene EDID. Tramite gli
interruttori sul davanti è possibile impostare manualmente la risoluzione
video e il formato audio desiderato. Vedere l’allegato 1, pagina 39, per un
elenco di queste impostazioni.

Consiglio: in situazioni tipo sempre utilizzare la modalità automatica, in tal
modo saranno riprodotti immagine e suono su tutti gli schermi. In caso di
impostazioni manuali può essere che su uno o più schermi non viene
riprodotta l’immagine o il suono se non viene supportata la relativa
impostazione.

6. DOMANDE FREQUENTI

Mancano l'immagine ed il suono o sono di cattiva qualità

Nel caso che dopo il collegamento del commutatore HDMI manchi l'immagine
o sia di cattiva qualità, cercare di risolvere il problema collegando uno per
uno le apparecchiature allo schermo (televisore, monitor o proiettore). In tal
modo è possibile determinare se il problema si trova nelle sorgenti HDMI, nei
cavi HDMI, nel commutatore HDMI o nello schermo.
x Controllare se l’adattatore di alimentazione è stato collegato ed inserito

nella presa di corrente.

x Per la migliore qualità di immagini e suono usare solo cavi omologati

High Speed HDMI®.

x Non usare cavi HDMI più lunghi di quanto indicato nei dati tecnici .
x Controllare se i cavi e/o connettori HDMI non sono stati danneggiati.
x Sia la sorgente HDMI che lo schermo devono supportare interamente

HDMI.

x Controllare se le sorgenti HDMI e lo schermo supportano la protezione

anticopia HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).

Manca la corretta riproduzione 3D

x Controllare se è stata impostata la sorgente HDMI corretta per riprodurre

3D e/o se essa è stata impostata nella modalità automatica.

x Sia la sorgente HDMI che lo schermo HD devono supportare gli stessi

formati 3D.

x Controllare se è corretta la riproduzione 3D collegando la sorgente HDMI

4. INSTALLATIE

Tips voor installatie:

x Schakel alle apparatuur (TV en HDMI bronnen) eerst uit voordat u deze

aansluit op de Connect 540 UHD™. Indien deze niet uitgeschakeld kan
worden verwijder dan de stekker uit het stopcontact.

x Gebruik uitsluitend High Speed HDMI® gecertificeerde kabels voor de

beste beeld- en geluidskwaliteit. Gebruik weinig kracht om de HDMI
kabels aan te sluiten of los te koppelen, deze kunnen hierdoor
beschadigd raken.

1. Sluit de HDMI bronnen (zoals spelcomputer, Blu-ray speler en Digitale

TV Decoder) aan op de HDMI poorten waarbij “HDMI input” staat met
een HDMI kabel.

2. Sluit de TV aan op de HDMI poort waarbij staat “HDMI output” met een

HDMI kabel.

3. Sluit de voedingsadapter aan op de “DC 5V” en steek de stekker in het

stopcontact.

4. Trek de plastic strip uit het batterijvakje van de afstandsbediening om de

batterij actief te maken en verwijder de beschermfolie van de bovenkant.

5. GEBRUIK

Schakel tussen de aangesloten HDMI apparaten

Met de Connect 540 UHD™ kiest u welke HDMI bron op de TV wordt
weergegeven. Indien u een andere HDMI bron wilt selecteren gebuikt u de
afstandsbediening of de “OUTPUT A / B” knop op de voorzijde.

EDID instellingen
EDID staat voor Extended Display Identification Data en deze wordt gebruikt
voor communicatie tussen HDMI bronnen en schermen om de ondersteunde
beeldresoluties en audio formaten te bepalen. De HDMI bron vraagt aan het
scherm deze informatie op en bepaalt de beste resolutie of audio formaat. Bij

gebruik van meerder schermen (TV’s of projectors) wordt bepaald wat de

beste resolutie en audio formaat is die door alle aangesloten schermen wordt
ondersteund.

In sommige situaties kan dat problemen veroorzaken, bijvoorbeeld wanneer
één van de aangesloten bronnen of schermen EDID niet goed ondersteunt.
Met behulp van schakelaars op de voorzijde kunt u handmatig ingeven wat
de gewenste video resolutie en audio formaat is. Zie bijlage 1 op bladzijde 39
voor een overzicht van de bijbehorende instellingen.

Tip: Gebruik in standaard situaties altijd de instelling automatisch, op alle
aangesloten schermen zal beeld en geluid weergegeven worden. Bij
handmatige instellingen kan het voorkomen dat op 1 of meerder schermen
geen beeld of geluid wordt weergegeven indien de betreffende instelling niet
wordt ondersteund.

1. VEEL GESTELDE VRAGEN

Geen (of slecht) beeld en geluid

Indien u slecht of geen beeld ervaart na het aansluiten van de HDMI
switcher, probeer dan het probleem te achterhalen door de apparaten één
voor één aan te sluiten op uw scherm (TV, monitor of projector). Op deze
manier kunt u bepalen of het probleem zich bevindt in de HDMI bronnen, de
HDMI kabels, de HDMI switcher of het scherm.
x Controleer of de voedingsadapter is aangesloten en in het stopcontact

zit.

x Gebruik uitsluitend High Speed HDMI® gecertificeerde kabels voor de

beste beeld- en geluidskwaliteit.

x Gebruik geen HDMI kabels die langer zijn dan gespecificeerd in de

technische gegevens

x Controleer of de HDMI kabels en/ of connectoren niet beschadigd zijn
x Zowel de HDMI bron als uw scherm dient HDMI volledig te ondersteunen
x Controleer of uw HDMI bronnen en scherm de kopieerbeveiliging HDCP

(Highbandwidth Digital Content Protection) ondersteunen.

Geen correcte 3D weergave

x Controleer of de HDMI bron is ingesteld om 3D weer te geven en/ of dat

deze op automatisch staat.

x Zowel de HDMI bron als uw HD scherm moet dezelfde 3D formaten

x Controleer of 3D correct wordt weergegeven door de HDMI bron direct
