Informationen zum Vorbild

Mit der Einführung des S-Bahn-Verkehrs und den im gleichen Jahr stattﬁndenden Olympischen Spielen, begann 1972 in München das Zeitalter des Triebwagens ET 420. In der Folgezeit dehnte sich der Einsatz der bewährten, dreiteiligen Konstruktion, deren Mittelwagen als Baureihe 421 eingereiht ist, auf weitere S-Bahn-Streckennetze aus, wie zum Beispiel Frankfurt und Stuttgart. Die damals modernen und schnellen Fahrzeuge sollten 30 Jahre eine prägende Rolle im Nahverkehr spielen und erleichterten es Millionen Pendlern, den Arbeitsplatz rascher zu erreichen.

Eine Einheit bietet 448 Fahrgästen Platz, von denen sich allerdings 194 Personen mit Stehplätzen begnügen müssen. Zwischen den drei, in Aluminiumleichtbauweise gefertigten Einheiten, besteht keine Möglichkeit zum Übergang und ein ET 420 besitzt zwei voneinander unabhängige elektrische Anlagen, somit zwei Hauptschalter, zwei Transformatoren etc. Jeder Wagen verfügt über 2 Triebdrehgestelle. Alle 12 Achsen eines Zuges sind mittels Tatzlager-Einzelachsmotoren angetrieben. Der 67,40 Meter lange Zug hat eine Stundenleistung von 2.400 kW und erreicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 120 km/h.

Der ET 420 wurde in 8 Bauserien beschafft, die sich naturgemäß unterscheiden und verschiedene Lackierungen trugen. Die Münchner Züge erhielten ursprünglich ein blaues Fensterband, die bekannte orange/kieselgraue Lackierung setzte sich aber bald überall durch. Heute sind sie alle im nahverkehrsüblichen Anstrich in verkehrsrot unterwegs.

Information about the prototype

The era of the ET 420 powered rail car train began in Munich in 1972 with the introduction of the S-Bahn service at the same time that the Olympic Games were taking place. In the period following this, the use of this proven, three-part design (whose middle car was designated as the class 421) was expanded to other S-Bahn networks such as Frankfurt and Stuttgart. These were modern, fast units at that time. They were to play a signiﬁcant role in commuter service and made it easier for millions of commuters to get to work faster.

One unit offers space for 448 passengers, of which 194 had to be content with standing room. There is no passage way between the three cars constructed of aluminum, and an ET 420 has two electrical layouts independent of each other, hence two main re

lays, two transformers, etc. Each car has two power trucks, i.e. all 12 axles on a train are driven by means of nose-suspended, single-axle traction motors. The 67.40 meter / 221 foot 1-9/16 inch long train has an hourly rating of 2,400 kilowatts / 3,218 horsepower and reaches a maximum speed of 120 km/h / 75 mph.

The ET 420 was bought in 8 production groups, which naturally differ from one another and which have different paint schemes. The Munich trains originally had a blue window band; the well-known orange / light gray paint scheme quickly spread everywhere. Today, the trains are all in the “trafﬁc red“ scheme customary for commuter service.

Met de invoering van het S-Bahn-verkeer en de in datzelfde jaar plaatsvindende Olympische Spelen begon in 1972 in München het tijdperk van het treinstel ET 420. In de tijd daarna breidde de inzet van de beproefde, driedelige constructie, waarvan het middenrijtuig als serie 421 genummerd is, naar andere S-Bahn-lijnen uit, bijvoorbeeld Frankfurt en Stuttgart, zich uit. De toen moderne en snelle voertuigen zouden 30 jaar hun stempel op het buurtverkeer drukken en vergemakkelijkten miljoenen pendelaars de arbeidsplaats sneller te bereiken.

Een eenheid biedt aan 448 reizigers plaats, waarvan 194 personen zich echter met staanplaatsen tevreden moeten stellen. Tussen de drie, in lichte aluminium constructie geproduceerde eenheden bestaat niet de mogelijkheid van een overgang en een ET 420 bezit twee van elkaar onafhankelijke elektrische installaties, dus twee hoofdschakelaars, twee transformatoren etc. Elke wagen beschikt over 2 aangedreven draaistellen, d.w.z. alle 12 assen van de trein zijn door middel van taatslager-eenasmotoren aangedreven. De 67,40 meter lange trein heeft een uurvermogen van 2.400 kW en bereikt een maximumsnelheid van 120 km/h.

De ET 420 werd in 8 bouwseries aangeschaft, die uiteraard van elkaar verschilden en verschillende kleuren droegen. De Münchener treinen kregen oorspronkelijk een blauwe vensterband, de bekende oranje/kiezelgrijze kleurstelling zette zich spoedig overal door. Tegenwoordig zijn ze allemaal in de gebruikelijke kleur voor het buurtverkeer in het verkeersrood onderweg.

Par la suite, l‘utilisation de la construction éprouvée à trois éléments, dont la voiture intermédiaire est classée dans la série 421, s‘étendit à d‘autres réseaux régionaux rapides, tels que Frankfurt et Stuttgart. Pendant 30 ans, les véhicules alors modernes et rapides devaient jouer un rôle marquant dans le traﬁc à petite distance et permettaient à des millions de «navetteurs» d‘arriver plus rapidement sur leur lieu de travail.

Une unité peut accueillir 448 voyageurs, dont 194 doivent toutefois se contenter de places debout. Entre les trois unités, de construction légère en aluminium, il n“y a pas de possibilité de passage et un ET 420 possède deux installations électriques indépendantes l‘une de l‘autre, autrement dit deux interrupteurs principaux, deux transformateurs, etc. Chaque voiture possède deux bogies moteurs, c‘est à dire tous les 12 essieux d‘une rame participent à la motorisation grâce à une commande individuelle par moteur suspendu par le nez. La rame, d‘une longueur de 67,40 m, fournit une puissance unihoraire de 2400 kW et atteint une vitesse maximale de 120 km/h.

Le ET 420 fut livré en 8 séries, montrant naturellement certaines différences et qui avaient des livrées différentes. Les rames munichoises avaient à l‘origine un bandeau de baies bleu, mais la livrée gris caillou/orange bien connue s‘imposa bientôt partout. Aujourd‘hui, elles circulent toutes avec la livrée rouge traﬁc, habituelle pour le traﬁc à petite distance.

• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebssystem (Märklin Wechselstrom, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems) eingesetzt werden.

gleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.

Veiligheidsvoorschriften

• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd bedrijfssysteem (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin digitaal of Märklin Systems) gebruikt worden.

• Alleen net-adapters en transformatoren gebruiken waarvan de aangegeven netspanning overeenkomt met de netspanning ter plaatse.

• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening gelijktijdig gevoed worden.

• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de gebru

iksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.

• Stel het model niet bloot aan in directe zonnestraling, sterke temperatuurwisselingen of hoge luchtvochtigheid.

• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.

• De gebruiksaanwijzing en de verpakking zijn een bestanddeel van het product en dienen derhalve bewaard en meegeleverd te worden bij het doorgeven van het product.

Aviso de seguridad

• La locomotora solamente debe funcionar en un sistema de corriente propio (Märklin AC – Märklin Delta – Märklin Digital o Märklin Systems).

• Emplear únicamente fuentes de alimentación conmutadas y transformadores que sean de la tensión de red local.

• La locomotora no deberá recibir corriente eléctrica mas que de un solo punto de abasto.

Observe bajo todos los conceptos, las medidas de seguridad indicadas en las instrucciones de su sistema de funcionamiento.

• No exponer el modelo en miniatura a la radiación solar directa, a oscilaciones fuertes de temperatura o a una humedad del aire elevada.

• Para el funcionamiento convencional de la locomotora deben suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexión de la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set supresor de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de interferencias no es adecuado para el funcionamiento en modo digital.

• Las instrucciones de empleo y el embalaje forman parte íntegra del producto y, por este motivo, deben guardarse y entregarse junto con el producto en el caso de venderlo o transmitirlo a otro.

• Regolazione dei parametri della locomotiva (indirizzo, ritardo di avviamento/frenatura, velocità massima): tramite Control Unit, Mobile Station oppure Central Station.

• Illuminazione di testa dipendente dalla direzione di marcia.

• Nel funzionamento analogico si hanno a disposizione sola

mente le funzioni di marcia e di commutazione dei fanali.

Avvertenze per la sicurezza

• Tale locomotiva deve essere impiegata soltanto con un sistema di funzionamento adeguato per questa (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oppure Märklin Systems).

• Impiegare soltanto alimentatori „switching“ e trasformatori che corrispondono alla Vostra tensione di rete locale.

• La locomotiva non deve venire alimentata nello stesso tempo con più di una sorgente di potenza.

• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avvertenze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro sistema di funzionamento.

• Non esponete tale modello ad alcun irraggiamento solare diretto, a forti escursioni di temperatura oppure a elevata umidità dell’aria.

• Per il funzionamento tradizionale della locomotiva il binario di alimentazione deve essere protetto dai disturbi. A tale scopo si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi 74046. Tale corredo antidisturbi non è adatto per il funzionamento Digital.

fördröjning, toppfart): Via Control Unit, Mobile Station eller Central Station.

• Körriktningsberoende frontbelysning.

• Vid analog körning är endast den automatiska ljusväxlings

funktionen tillgänglig.

Säkerhetsanvisningar

• Loket får endast köras med ett därtill avsett driftsystem (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital eller Märklin Systems).

• Använd endast nätadaptrar och transformatorer anpassade för det lokala elnätet.

• Loket får inte samtidigt försörjas av mer än en kraftkälla.

• Beakta alltid säkerhetsanvisningarna i bruksanvisningen som hör till respektive driftsystemet.

• Modellen får inte utsättas för direkt solljus, häftiga tempera

turväxlingar eller hög luftfuktighet.

• När motorvagnens lokdel ska köras med konventionell/ana

log drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd. Till detta använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med avstörning och överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyddet får inte användas vid digital körning.
