Information about the Prototype

In the ﬁrst half of the 20th century powered rail car trains were increasingly developed with drive gear that was an alternative to the steam propulsion that had predominated up till then. Initially electric propulsion made the greatest progress in this area. Diesel motors for railroading did not reach a suitable level until the 1920s to the 1930s. A total of 6 sets of the class E.T. 501-506 were built and placed into regular service by the KPEV as early as 1914. It turned out to be a thoroughly reliable powered rail car design. These powered rail cars were initially used for the routes in Silesia with their many grades. All 6 sets were designated as the class ET 87 on the German State Railroad. Three of these powered rail car trains remained in Bavaria after and were used there in Nürnberg commuter service until 1959. The advantage of electric propulsion such as trouble-free service, low operating costs, and the lack of exhaust emissions were also an important factor for these models. The maximum speed of 70 km/h or 44 mph was considerably higher than the values that were reached with many other commuter trains.

Information zum Vorbild

In der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts wurden verstärkt Triebwagenzüge mit Alternativantrieben zum bis dahin vorherrschenden Dampfantrieb entwickelt. Anfänglich machte der Elektroantrieb dabei die größten Fortschritte. Erst in den 20er- bis 30er-Jahren hatte auch der Dieselmotor ein für die Eisenbahn geeignetes Niveau erreicht. Mit der Baureihe E.T. 501-506, von der insgesamt 6 Garnituren hergestellt wurden, übernahm die KPEV bereits 1914 eine frühe aber durchaus zuverlässige Triebwagenkonstruktion in den Plandienst. Diese Triebwagen wurden anfänglich für die steigungsreichen Strecken in Schlesien eingesetzt. Bei der Deutschen Reichsbahn wurden alle 6 Garnituren als Baureihe ET 87 eingereiht. 3 dieser Triebwagenzüge blieben nach 1945 in Bayern und wurden dort bis 1959 im Nürnberger Nahverkehr eingesetzt. Der Vorteil des Elektroantriebs wie problemlose Inbetriebnahme, geringer Bedienungsaufwand sowie fehlende Schadstoffemission waren auch bei diesen Modellen ein wichtiger Faktor. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 70 km/h lag in der Anfangszeit deutlich über den Werten, die mit vielen anderen Nahverkehrszügenerreicht wurde.

Informations concernant la locomotive réelle

Au cours de la première moitié du 20e siècle, on a développé des rames automotrices équipées de diverses motorisations dont la prépondérante était celle à vapeur. Au début, c’est le moteur électrique qui faisait le plus de progrès. Le moteur diesel appliqué à la traction ferroviaire avait également atteint un haut niveau de développement durant les années 20 et 30. Grâce à la série E.T. 501-506, comprenant 6 ensembles complets, la KPEV disposait déjà en 1914 de rames automotrices parfaitement ﬁables sur le plan du respect des horaires. Au début d.e leur mise en service, les 6 rames furent affectées aux lignes escarpées de Silésie. Lorsque la Deutsche Reichsbahn en hérita, elles furent renumérotées dans la série ET 87. Trois de ces rames, restées en Bavière après 1945, y effectuèrent leurs prestations sur les lignes suburbaines de Nuremberg jusqu’en 1959. Les avantages de la motorisation électrique tels que disponibilité immédiate, personnel réduit et absence d’émissions nocives se révélaient des facteurs importants et appréciés. La vitesse maximale de 70 km/h surpassait nettement celles obtenues avec d’autres moyens de transport suburbain.

In de eerste helft van de twintigste eeuw werd er hard aan gewerkt om alternatieve aandrijvingen te ontwikkelen voor de toen gebruikte stoomaandrijving. Aanvankelijk werden er grote vorderingen gemaakt met de elektrische aandrijving. Pas in de twintiger en dertiger jaren had de dieselmotor het niveau bereikt voor het gebruik in spoorwegmaterieel. Met de serie E.T. 501-506, waarvan er in totaal 6 stuks gemaakt zijn, nam de KPEV reeds in 1914 een jong maar betrouwbaar treinstel op in de dienstregeling. Dit treinstel werd aanvankelijk ingezet voor de trajecten met veel hellingen in Schlesien. Bij de Deutschen Reichsbahn werden alle 6 treinstellen als serie ET 87 ondergebracht. Drie van deze stellen bleven ook na 1945 in Beieren en werden daar tot 1959 in het buurtverkeer rond Neurenberg ingezet. De voordelen van de elektrische aandrijving zoals, het probleemlozeopstarten, gemakkelijke bediening en geen luchtverontreiniging waren ook bij deze modellen eenbelangrijke factor. De maximumsnelheid van 70 km/hlag in het begin beduidend boven de waarde die met andere buurtverkeertreinen bereikt werd.

• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.

• Setzen Sie das Modell keiner direkten Sonneneinstrahlung, starken Temperaturschwankungen oder hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit aus.

• ACHTUNG! Funktionsbedingte scharfe Kanten und Spitzen.

Safety Notes

• Use only switched mode power supply units and transformers that are designed for your local power system.

• This locomotive must never be supplied with power from more than one transformer.

• Pay close attention to the safety notes in the instructions for your operating system.

• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent interference with radio and television reception, when the locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The 74046 interference suppression set is to be used for this purpose.

• Do not expose the model to direct sunlight, extreme changes in temperature, or high humidity.

• WARNING! Sharp edges and points required for operation.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité

• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec un système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital ou Märklin Systems).

• Utiliser uniquement des convertisseurs et transformateurs correspondant à la tension du secteur local.

• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que par une seule source de courant.

• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi de votre système d’exploitation.

• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conventionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en mode numérique.

• Ne pas exposer le modèle à un ensoleillement direct, à de fortes variations de température ou à un taux d‘humidité important.

• ATTENTION! Pointes et bords coupants lors du fonctionnement du produit.

Veiligheidsvoorschriften

• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd bedrijfssysteem (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin digitaal of Märklin Systems) gebruikt worden.

• Alleen net-adapters en transformatoren gebruiken waarvan de aangegeven netspanning overeenkomt met de netspanning ter plaatse.

• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening gelijktijdig gevoed worden.

• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.

• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.

• Stel het model niet bloot aan in directe zonnestraling, sterke temperatuurwisselingen of hoge luchtvochtigheid.

• OPGEPAST! Functionele scherpe kanten en punten.

Belangrijke aanwijzing

• De gebruiksaanwijzing en de verpakking zijn een bestanddeel van het product en dienen derhalve bewaard en meegeleverd te worden bij het doorgeven van het product.

• Voor reparatie of onderdelen kunt u zich tot uw Märklin handelaar wenden.

Aviso de seguridad

• La locomotora solamente debe funcionar en un sistema de corriente propio (Märklin AC – Märklin Delta – Märklin Digital o Märklin Systems).

• Emplear únicamente fuentes de alimentación conmutadas y transformadores que sean de la tensión de red local.

• La alimentación de la locomotora deberá realizarse descle una sola fuente de suminitro.

• Observe bajo todos los conceptos, las medidas de seguridad indicadas en las instrucciones de su sistema de funcionamiento.

• Para el funcionamiento convencional de la locomotora deben suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexión de la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set supresor de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de interferencias no es adecuado para el funcionamiento en modo digital.

• No exponer el modelo en miniatura a la radiación solar directa, a oscilaciones fuertes de temperatura o a una humedad del aire elevada.

• ¡ATENCIÓN! Esquinas y puntas aﬁladas condicionadas a la función.

• Las instrucciones de empleo y el embalaje forman parte íntegra del producto y, por este motivo, deben guardarse y entregarse junto con el producto en el caso de venderlo o transmitirlo a otro.

Avvertenze per la sicurezza

• Tale locomotiva deve essere impiegata soltanto con un sistema di funzionamento adeguato per questa (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oppure Märklin Systems).

• Impiegare soltanto alimentatori “switching“ e trasformatori che corrispondono alla Vostra tensione di rete locale.

• La locomotiva non deve venire alimentata nello stesso tempo con più di una sorgente di potenza.

• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avvertenze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro sistema di funzionamento.
