This supplement is based on HEATING ELEMENT CONFIGURATIONS ( see attachments ) titled
by styles. Each STYLE is identified with a serial number and corresponding part numbers.
In addition, a supporting SPARE PARTS LIST will help identify the most commonly used components for STYLES 2-3-&-
4.A brief description of each style is as follows:
STYLE 1: This style is the original version and it is supported by the service & parts manual form # S-2312 rev. 6/85.
STYLE 2: This style began with SERIAL NUMBER ( 144039 ) and is supported by the spare
parts list attached. Uses ( 2 ) screw - in heaters, each rated at 12KW ( SEE ATTACHED WIRING DIAGRAM
D91 - 8520 )
STYLE 3: This style began with SERIAL NUMBER ( 161712 ) and is supported by the attached spare parts lists. Uses
a one piece heater design that replaced the heating element configuration outlined in STYLE 2.

STYLE 4: This is our current design which began with SERIAL NUMBER ( 171656 ) and
is supported by the attached spare parts list. Uses ( 2 ) bolt in flanged heaters, each rated at 12KW

This bulletin is based on a recent change to the following HEATING ELEMENTS and related wiring
• Heating Element Part Number: S08-6388 208 Volt

• Heating Element Part Number: S08-6389 240 Volt
• Heating Element Part Number: S08-6390 480 Volt
Market Forge has obsoleted Part Number S08-6390 ( 480 Volt heating element). This application will now be
serviced by using Part Number S08-6389 ( 240 Volt heating element) in its place and wiring the 480 Volts in series
across two of the 240 Volt loops ( see attached wiring sketches ). These wiring diagrams will help assist your
technician during the install of these new heaters.
The Part Number S08-6388 ( 208 Volt heating element) will remain the same, however, the wiring changes
will apply.
Please note that the gasket for this heating element is not included with the sale. You will need to order the
following Part Number S91-6281 to support the installation.

The above part numbers will be replaced with a new firebar type heating element. The
firebars are very low watt density, resist scale build-up, and are less costly than the
original heaters.
More good news ... one firebar takes the place of (2) 5 KW elements for model 3010
steamer at a good saving for the customer. Firebars also can be connected one or three
phase so your stock level is less. Part numbers for Firebar:
