Before attaching hoses to the power unit, make sure the motor is operative by plugging
it into an electrical outlet and turning on the switch. If the motor does not run, turn it off
immediately and refer to the trouble-shooting section. Please read the important safety
instructions sheet before operating.
Slide container into cart. Place power unit on top of the cart with the suction side (see
1.
arrow on label on top of power unit) facing toward the front of the container.
Attach discharge hose and nozzle to discharge side of the power unit and hand tight-

en the union nut.
NOTE:NEVER USE WRENCH TO TIGHTEN.
Filter Screen Assembly - Place paper envelope of lter cloth bag over the screen so
3.
that the hole of the paper envelope if lter cloth bag allows the threaded stem of the
lter screen to poke through. Fold paper envelope or lter cloth bag over the top of
the screen to hold lter in place. Attach lter screen stem to screen and place the lter
screen assembly in the container. The clamp end of the lter screen should e toward
the rear of the container. Attach union nut to suction side of the power unit. Tighten
union nut by hand only.
Filtrator compound or lter powder should be placed on the paper envelope. Use
4.
enough to evenly coat the top surface.
Once the lter screen assembly is in place, slide the rear part of the container cover
5.
over the container. The four slots of the cover should face toward the front end of the
container. The front part of the cover is assembled by placing the tabs through the
slotted holes with the knob toward the front.
Your ltrator is now assembled and ready to operate using the operating instructions on
page 2. NOTE: A maximum of 5 fryers can be done at any one time.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION:
OIL/SHORTENING WILL CAUSE PARTS TO BECOME HOT. USE CARE WHEN
HANDLING TO AVOID INJURY.
Open the door of the fryer and roll the ltrator MF-ECCO ONE up to the fryer so that
1.
the front end of the container is under the drain valve. Plug power unit into an electrical outlet.
With oil/shortening at approximately 300oF, turn off fryer and take out crumb screen.
2.
Sprinkle one cup of ltrator compound or lter powder into the oil/shortening. Mix
compound or powder into the oil/shortening by placing discharge nozzle in the oil and
turning power unit switch on. Move discharge nozzle around the fry pot for approximately 15 seconds. When done, turn power to unit off. Lift the front half piece of the
container cover to the upright position and allow oil to drain into the container. When
properly positioned, the cover acts as a splash guard. Open the fryer drain valve to
allow oil/shortening to drain into the ltrator container, and turn power to the unit on.
Oil/shortening will be recirculated into the fryer and by directing the nozzle, sediment
has been completely washed out from the fryer. Now close fryer drain valve and
turn the power to the unit to the off position. The ltered oil/shortening is now being
pumped back into the fryer.
When the oil/shortening is returned completely to the fryer, turn power to the unit off,
3.
unplug and remove the ltrator from the fryer. Replace crumb screen and turn on fryer.
The fryer is now ready to use.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
BE SURE PARTS HAVE COOLED BEFORE HANDLING/CLEANING.
CLEANING THE FILTRATOR:
Remove the container cover and disconnect the lter screen assembly.
1.
Disconnect the discharge hose/nozzle from the power unit.
2.
Allow any residual oil/shortening to drain into the container. Place hose aside. Tip
3.
power unit so that the discharge side pump nipple/socket is facing the bottom of the
container for approximately 5 to 10 seconds to drain excess oil/shortening.
Return the power unit to its correct position on the shelf of the cart once draining is
4.
complete.
CLEANING THE PUMP:
NOTE: DRAINING THE PUMP IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
If the pump is not drained, hardened oil/shortening may prevent the pump from ro-
1.
tating when the power is on. While holding the screen assembly over that container,
shake the screen to remove sediment from the paper envelope or cloth bag.
Remove stem from screen and then remove paper envelope from the screen.
2.
Clean the screen stem assembly, container, cover, discharge hose/nozzle by wash-
3.
ing, rinsing and thoroughly drying each part. The screen can be separated by holding
the screen upside down and gently tapping the threaded stem on a hard surface. The
power unit housing, cart and outside parts of the container can also be cleaned using
a stainless steel cleaner/polish.
NOTE: DO NOT RUN WATER THROUGH PUMP.
After the ltrator has been cleaned, reassemble the various components, place a new
paper envelope on the screen and the unit is ready for the next lter cycle.
