force measurements, in conformance with ISO 9727. The fi xture accommodates bottles up to
1.5 L, and is compatible with Mark-10 test stands, force gauges, and load cells. The image at
left depicts a typical confi guration with a Model ESM303 test stand and force gauge.
The fi xture is shipped fully assembled. Please follow these installation instructions:
1. Position the force gauge (2) or load cell near the top of the test stand column (1), then
install the provided swivel adapter (3) and hook (4).

2. Attach the fi xture base (8) to the test stand base via the four provided screws, or via an
optional eye end adapter in the center hole.

3. Move the upper bracket (6) to near its highest position by loosening and tightening the
black knobs on either side of the bracket.
4. Place the bottle onto the lower bracket (7).
5. Loosen the upper bracket, then lower it until it rests against the shoulder of the bottle.
6. Push the bottle down against the lower bracket until the desired spring resistance is
achieved, then tighten the upper bracket.
7. Twist the corkscrew assembly (5) into the cork, lower the crosshead, then engage the hook
and shackle.
8. The fi xture is now ready for use. Refer to the user’s guides for the test stand force gauge
or load cell for further testing instructions.
9. To release the bottle, press it down against the lower bracket, then slide it out.
