Caution
To identify a gas leak, a peculiar scent was added to Natural and Liquid Propane Gas. If you are unfamiliar with the smell of Natural or Liquid Propane Gas, please consult your local gas supplier. They maybe some conditions that can cause the scent to diminish in intensity, making it difficult to identify a gas leak.
- Liquid Propane Gas is denser than air and will amass first on lower areas making it difficult to detect at nose level.
- Before attempting to light the unit uses a soapy solution to check all gas fittings and connections. Bubbling at a connection indicates a gas leak that must be corrected. Also make sure to smell for gas leaks. When smelling to detect a gas leak, be sure to sniff near the floor also.
- Installing Gas detectors is highly recommended for both Liquid Propane and Natural Gas applications. Please refer to local laws, regulations and manufacturer's recommendations in order to correctly install a gas detector in your house.
- Units using Natural gas are different from Liquid Propane models. For your safety do not uses natural gas with Liquid Propane Unit and vice versa.
- You should never attempt to convert the water heater from Natural Gas to Liquid Propane.
- Do not connect the unit to a fuel type that is not in accordance with the specifications to avoid possible, fire, equipment damage or personal injury.
Other Precautions
1. This unit only uses Liquid Propane Gas.
2. Please do not place hands or other objects on top of the heater or the exhaust
gas pipe, it is very hot.
3. If the smell of gas is detected, turn off the gas valve at the tank immediately.
4. Do not use in strong wind conditions.
5. Do not leave unattended.
6. Do not over tighten the gas regulator connection to the unit with a wrench. This
may break the gas inlet.
The MAREY PORTABLE liquid propane gas water heater is capable o delivering
1.4 GPM (gallons per minute) - 5 (LPM liters per minute). This unit has a standard 1/2“NPT pipe fittings and an adapter for using a standard garden hose for inlet water supply.
Ignition is automatic and powered by 2 “D” cell batteries (not included). Burners come on when water pressure is more than 5 PSI, and off when the water is shut off.
A shower nozzle with multiple spray patterns is included. For gas supply a standard 20 pound propane cylinder (not included) is required.
This is similar to the gas tanks used with outdoor grills. A regulator with hose is furnished with the heater.
An additional safety feature of an automatic 20 minute shutoff timer that is reset each time operation stops or the shower head is turned off and back on.

1. Check the box for damage. If damage is caused by shipment, it must be reported immediately.
2. Make sure you have all the parts:
a. Gas Regulator and Hand Shower Nozzle with ON/OFF Control
b. Hardware Pack and ½” NPT to Garden Hose Adapter
3. If you are using a regular standard garden hose, please use ½” npt to connect
garden hose adapter include. Please use the sealing tape (teflon) on the threads to avoid leaks. Also check if the screen filter from the water inlet is in place, make sure it is cleans from any particular blocking the water entrance. Having this point done then you are ready to attach the water input/garden hose.
4. Install gas supply in to the inlet gas pipe. Do not over tighten, this can break or crack the inlet pipe. Make sure after tight it that inlet pipe is not moving to avoid any gas leaking or mal-function.
5. Connect the shower nozzle to the water outlet. Make sure you used teflon and connected by hand preasure only.
6. Install the two batteries size “d”. Look to the cap of the batteries case, it shows how to install the batteries correctly.
7. Use the top and bottom tab of the back cover heater to suspend it from the wall.
0706
Do not use the handle to suspend. Make sure to install carefully using a backup hrench in the gas inlet hose to avoid stress and broken gas inlet pipe.
8. Attach the gas regulator by hand pressure to avoid any broken part and make sure the gas tank valve is off. Before hooking the gas valve connection, make sure it is completely in the off position.
Before going to the HOW TO USE section Attention: Make sure that around the area there are no flammables, especially
gasoline or other vapors that can ignite and there are no objects that can fall over. The exhaust and top of the unit will be hot.
9. You will hear a series of clicks and the burner will ignite. If the burner doesn’t ignite after 5 seconds, turn off the heater and read the "Trouble Shooting" section.
10. To ensure draining of water, after use, open the drain valve (ribbed cylindrical stem next to the water input valve).
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the drain valve is opened and water drained from the unit after each use to avoid internal damage to the water regulator, if the outside
1. Turn on incoming water supply ensuring that you have an adequate water pressure, between 5-145 PSI.
2. Verify that the shower nozzle is the off position.
3. Open the gas valve on the cylinder all the way.
4. If a gas leak is detected, turn off the gas valve INMEDIATELY! Do not touch the
“on/off” switch.
5. Set the water regulator knob all the way to the left.
6. Set the gas regulator knob on the face of the unit to the half way mark.
7. Turn the “ON/OFF” switch on the bottom of the unit to “ON” (the ON/OFF switch
uses the international standard of “I” for ON and “0” for OFF).
8. Turn the spray nozzle to the “on” position.
temperature is around or below freezing (32 degrees F, 0 degrees C). Unhook the outgoing water line to ensure that any water in the heat exchanger cause is drained. The lack of proper drainage in your unit may cause damage to the water heaterthat will not be repairable. See our warranty policy.
The temperature of the incoming water with the amount of heat applied are influential in the temperature of the outgoing water.
1. Set the gas regulator to low, and the water regulator to high, feel the outgoing water. This is the lowest setting available.
2. To raise the outgoing temperature, turn the gas valve towards maximum. There will be a slight delay between increasing the gas supply and the increase in water
3. If you wish to use water without it being heated turn the ON/OFF switch at the bottom of the unit to “OFF” (“0”). This will disconnect the gas flow and igniters.
temperature. If you want the highest setting available then turn water regulator all the way to the maximum. Adjust slowly and check the temperature often.
The unit will produce temperatures capable of harming the skin! Make sure that you test the water before taking a shower!
The units does not start at all
1. Make sure you have new batteries installed in the correct position. Check the cap
of the battery case for instructions on how they should be installed.
2. Usually, the main reason most units does not ignite is that there is not enough water pressure. The unit must have a have a minimum of 5 PSI of sustained water pressure to turn on.
3. Verify that the water hoses are connected properly, if they are not the unit will not work. Check that the incoming is on the far right and the outgoing is in the middle.
4. The "On/Off" switch should be with the “—“ sign pushed down. ADJUSTMENT: On the bottom of the unit, you will see 2 oval holes in the case.
The furthest hole on the right looks up at the water regulator where you will see two Philip head screws. Furthest on the right the is a screw that you must turn about a ¼ or ½. The unit will be able to operate on a lower water pressure by restricting the flow.
5. During shipping if a wire disconnected, make sure that the gas valve and the switch is shut off. The front cover is held by four screws, two at the top and two at the bottom. The knobs pull off. All the wiring is done with push together plastic connectors. When a further dismantling of the unit they are all visible.
6. There is a possibility that some epoxy or debris might have entered the water regulator. Check that the water inlet filter screen is clear of debris. To flush the system you can reverse the hookup by taking the water source and hooking it up to the water outlet side and back.
If the gas cylinder is contaminated by air, cycle the unit on and off several times to purge the air from the gas.
