Programming instructions for KF425
We suggest that the following procedures are carried out before cutting the
new key. Key blade requires cutting by your local locksmith.
TRANSPONDER PROGRAMMING
The transponder programming procedure allows the new key to start the engine.
1. Insert original working master key (black headed key) in to the ignition (leave in Lock position).
2. Press the accelerator pedal 5 times.
3. Press the brake pedal 6 times.
4. Remove the original key from the ignition and insert new key to be programmed leaving it in the Lock position.
5. Press accelerator pedal once.
6. Wait a full 60 seconds.
7. If performed correctly the security LED on the vehicle will turn off. Once turned off the new transponder is programmed.
8. Remove new key from the ignition.
If the new key is cut it will now be able to start the ignition. Do not test if the key blank is not cut.
REMOTE PROGRAMMING
The remote programming procedure allows you to lock and unlock vehicle with the
buttons on the new key.
The following procedure can be carried out using any cut key that starts the engine.
1. Sit in vehicle with driver’s door open & remove any keys from the vehicle’s
ignition.
2. Insert and remove the key from ignition twice (In – Out – In – Out).
3. Close and open the driver’s door twice (Close – Open – Close – Open).
4. Insert and remove the key from ignition once (In – Out).
5. Close and open the driver’s door twice (Close – Open – Close – Open).
6. Close the driver’s door (keep it closed).
7. Insert the key in to the vehicle’s ignition & turn to the On position for a full 2
seconds then turn it to Lock and remove the key (Insert – On – Wait 2 seconds – Lock position – Remove). If performed correctly, the door locks will sequence and you are now in ‘Learn mode’. If the door locks do not sequence, restart the procedure from step 1.
TIP: When the key is left in the On position for approximately 2 seconds, the fuel indicator needle will raise: Once the needle raises that is when you should turn the key to the Lock position and remove it.
8. Using the new remote, press and hold Lock & Unlock together for 3 seconds and
release then press Lock by itself for 3 seconds and release. (Lock + Unlock buttons 3 seconds – Release – Lock button 3 seconds – Release).
If performed correctly the door locks will sequence once. If the door locks sequence twice repeat step 8. You are still in Learn Mode.
9. Open & Close the driver’s door to exit Learn Mode.
The above procedure programs new remote controls whilst leaving all existing remotes still programmed to the vehicle.
Deleting old remotes: If you wish to delete all old remotes replace step 7 with the following:
7. Insert the key in to the vehicle’s ignition & turn to the On position for a full 2
seconds then turn it to Lock (Do not remove). Turn back to On again for a further 2 seconds and turn to the Lock position and remove the key (Insert – On – Wait 2 seconds – Lock position – On – Wait 2 seconds – Lock position – Remove). If performed correctly, the door locks will sequence twice and you are now in ‘Learn
mode’. All previously programmed remotes are now deleted.
