Thank you for purchasing the MANHATTAN® Hi-Speed USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter with Power Supply, Model 516075.
This device connects SATA, SATA-enhanced, IDE and enhanced-IDE hard disks and CD/DVD drives to desktop and notebook computers using a USB port. Backing up files or storing large file archives on external drives is faster and easier to accomplish. Serving as a bridge, the adapter can transfer data between SATA 150 and IDE external drives when both are simultaneously attached. Compatibility with all types of drives up to 5.25”, including 2.5” notebook drives and standard 3.5” CD/DVD, ZIP and magnetic optical drives, makes this a versatile tool for professional and home users.

• Connects one SATA 150 or IDE external drive to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port to transfer, back up and store files

SetUp & operAtioN
System Requirements
Hardware: PC or notebook computer with an available USB interface. Operating system: Windows 98/SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista.
Setup for Windows 98/SE
1. Plug the adapter into an available USB port.
2. Attach the SATA and/or the IDE drive(s) to the adapter.
3. Set the SATA and/or IDE drive(s) to "Master/MA."
4. Secure power to the drive(s), if needed, and start Windows 98/SE.
5. Windows 98/SE will automatically find the USB device. Click "Add new hardware"; then click "Next."
6. Choose "Search available driver"; click "Next."
7. Insert the driver CD and select "Appointed device." Enter "corresponding product code"; click "Next." The screen will display "USB Storage Adapter."
8. Click "Finish." The program will automatically complete the setup. A correct setup will be confirmed by an on-screen illustration, with a circle highlighting the new device and without

any yellow, red or green question mark. After finishing the setup, the USB device will be found in "My Computer."
Setup for Windows Me/2000/XP
Under Windows Me/2000/XP, the system can find and set up "USB Mass Storage Device" directly.
NOTE: Partition and format any new hard disk drive (HDD) into FAT16 or FAT32 segments prior to connecting to the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter. If your HDD partition is NTFS or UNIX, format as FAT16 or FAT32 before connecting the adapter.
