Thank you for purchasing the MANHATTAN® USB to Serial Converter,
Model 173384.
Modern computers are often not equipped with RS-232 ports, making
the use of legacy peripherals and communication devices more difcult.
The MANHATTAN USB to Serial Converter, with its serial RS-232 ports
and speeds up to 225 kbps, easily expands a single USB 1.1 port to
connect and support up to four serial modems, barcode scanners, card
readers, digital cameras, label writers, palm PCs, digital organizers and
other devices.
The easy-to-follow instructions in this manual help make installation of
the converter quick and simple, so you’ll also soon be enjoying the

DRIVER INSTALLATION
Prior to installing the driver, make sure the converter is not plugged in to
the computer. When the install is complete, you’ll be prompted to make
the connection at that point by
plugging the at connector into
the computer’s USB port and plugging the square connector into the
converter (on rear panel, shown above right).
For Windows 2000
1. Insert the driver CD.
2. When the Found New Hardware
Wizard screen appears, click
“Next” to continue.
3. Select “Search for a suitable
driver for my device”; then click
“Next” to continue.

4. Select “Floppy disk drives” to indicate the driver location; click “Next.”
5. When the Driver Files Search Results screen displays, click “Next.”

1. Execute Dremover98_ 2K.exe
in the driver folder.
2. Click “OK” to remove the driver.
3. Click “Yes” to restart
the system to install
a new driver.
4. Click “OK.”
