SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Prior to installing your speakers, read the following safety guidelines to help prevent damage to any electrical components or harm to users.
• Do not place this product or any of its parts near heat or potential heat sources, nor in any moist or damp environment.
• Do not hit, drop or mishandle electrical components in such a way as to loosen, break or otherwise render inoperative any interior or exterior parts. Place only on a stable, well-ventilated platform.
• Do not remove the back panel except as directed by a qualied technician in order to minimize the possibility of electrical shock. If in need of repair or inspection, bring the speaker(s) to a professional repair person.
• Should liquids or other materials (including fragments of broken parts) get inside the speaker cabinet, immediately shut power off to the speaker and have it professionally inspected and/or repaired before further operation.
• Turn off the power and unplug from power source when the system is not in use and during electrical storms.
• Clean with a soft, damp cloth only. Avoid abrasives or chemicals.

SETUP/CONNECTIONS
1. Carefully unpack the speakers and accessories. Do not lift or remove the speakers from the box by the function knobs or attached cords and cables, as this may damage the speaker unit.
2. Place the satellite speakers and subwoofer in the desired listening location. (See the conguration example in Suggestions for Setup & Operation.) Since the stereo sound emanates only from the satellites, and because low-frequency sound from the subwoofer is non-directional, the placement of the subwoofer doesn’t affect the overall balance of sound. To optimize bass efciency, however, it’s best to place the subwoofer on the oor near a wall or in a corner of the room. NOTE: Though magnetically shielded to be free from interference when placed near a monitor or TV, the subwoofer can cause interference in other components: Position it at least 30 cm (1 ft.) away from monitors and televisions. The satellites are also magnetically shielded; however, as they won’t cause interference, they can be placed next to other electrical components.
3. Based on where you position each of the ve satellite speakers, connect them to the corresponding output jacks on the rear panel (shown at
right, middle) of the subwoofer unit: FR for front-right; FL for front-left; CEN for center; SL for surround/ rear-left; SR for surround/rear-right.

4. Using the included RCA cable, connect the input jacks on the rear panel of the subwoofer unit (above image, top) to the corresponding line out or audio output jack(s) of the audio source (stereo tuner, computer, game system or whatever).
5. Plug the AC power cord attached to the rear of the subwoofer unit (above image, bottom) into an electrical outlet and set the power switch (also on the rear panel of the subwoofer) to the on position.
OPERATION
With the both the speaker system and the audio source turned on and generating an audio signal, adjust the volume and bass levels of the speaker system to desired levels (adjusting the volume/audio output level on the audio source as necessary) using the controls and indicators on the front of the subwoofer or the remote control, as described below.
Subwoofer Front Panel
Standby LED: This blinks when the power switch on the rear panel is in
the on position. When the Mute button is pressed, this LED remains on (no longer blinking), indicating the system has been brought out of standby and is ready to operate.
Mute LED: This blinks when the sound has been muted using the Mute button (see below). Virtual 5.1 / 5.1 Channel LEDs: Pressing the Source button toggles
between these two options, with one or the other corresponding LEDs lighting to indicate the selection. Virtual 5.1 can be used when the source isn’t actual 5.1 channel sound. Bass– / Bass+ LEDs: When the bass control is activated (pressing the Mode button toggles between bass and volume control), the corresponding LED will light as the Down/Up buttons are pressed to lower or raise the level of the bass. Vol– / Vol+ LEDs: When the volume control is activated (pressing the Mode button toggles between bass and volume control), the corresponding LED will light as the Down/Up buttons are pressed to lower or raise the level of the overall volume (including bass).

Mute button: Press to mute the sound (the Mute LED will blink); press again to restore the sound. Source button: Pressing this toggles between the Virtual 5.1 and 5.1 Channel settings. Virtual 5.1 can be used when the source isn’t actual
5.1 channel sound. Mode button: Pressing this toggles between the bass and volume controls (volume includes bass). Down/Up buttons: Press to raise or lower either the bass or the overall volume level (whichever is selected using the Mode button and
indicated by the corresponding LEDs).

NOTE: To prevent malfunctions and/or damage to other devices — and to protect your own hearing — always turn down the volume and turn off the power on all system components before making any connections.

Suggestions for Setup & Operation
• If only one speaker emits CD audio when the system is plugged into a headphone jack, it’s because WAV les and games normally
transmit only one track of audio.
• If one or more of the speakers don’t provide sound once power is on,
check all connections and controls. NOTE: If adjusting the bass control doesn’t affect the audio output, it could simply be that the
signal source doesn’t include frequencies below 150 Hz.
