CONDENSING BOILERS
INFORMATION CONCERNING YOUR BOILER
You are the owner of a Malvern High Efficiency Condensing Boiler and due to the way it works it will appear to produce a lot of steam from the terminal; this is harmless vapour and quite normal. The boiler requires a drain to be permanently connected, your installer has done this, it must not be disconnected or removed. The Installer should also have left you your Logbook. The Gas Safety (Installations and Use) Regulations makes it illegal for gas appliances to be installed or serviced by persons not CORGI Registered Operatives. All Registered Installers carry a CORGI ID card and have a registration number and this should be recorded in your Logbook. You can check your installer is CORGI registered by calling CORGI direct on:- 01256 372300
IMPORTANT: DO NOT DISTURB APPLIANCE CASE.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY TO YOUR BOILER
The boiler must be connected to a 230v ~ 50 Hz supply with a 3 Amp fuse rating.
THE APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
TO IGNITE YOUR BOILER
With the Electricity supply switched on, the
power
lamp will be on. When the system programmer and thermostats are in a demand position and the front panel boiler thermostat fully clockwise, the boiler
running
lamp will be lit and the boiler
will start automatically. The
running
lamp will go out when the system thermostats
are satisfied or if the programmer is off. If the boiler fails to start and the
lockout
lamp is lit reset by turning the boiler
thermostat to off then back on again. If the boiler does not start after using the reset allow the boiler to cool, then reset
again. If this still does not succeed in getting the boiler to run, or if a fault is suspected turn the boiler and supply off and call the assistance of a Corgi registered Engineer.
The variable thermostat on the front panel adjusts the temperature of the water in the system, the further clockwise, the hotter the system will be. For maximum efficiency use the lowest setting that still obtains comfortable room temperatures, but still provides satisfactory hot water performance. Fully anti-clockwise will switch the boiler off.
Please note, it is normal for the boiler to switch on and off under the control of the system and its own thermostat. Due to a built-in delay timer, there will be a few minutes delay between the boiler Control Thermostat being turned on, and ignition. This is indicated by a slow flashing of the
running
lamp.
TO TURN YOUR BOILER OFF FOR A SHORT PERIOD
Turn the boiler thermostat fully anti-clockwise and the programmer to an ‘OFF’ setting.
TO TURN YOUR BOILER OFF FOR A LONG PERIOD
Turn the boiler thermostat fully anti-clockwise and the programmer to an ‘OFF’ setting. Switch off the Electricity supply to the system. If the boiler is going to be off for a long period, it is strongly recommended that the system is drained.
MAINTENANCE OF YOUR BOILER
There are no user serviceable parts. To clean the case, wipe with a damp cloth, do not use an abrasive cleaner.
It is recommended that the boiler and the system are serviced once a year by a CORGI Registered Engineer.
