REAR TRAILING ARM
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
2010 CAMARO PART NO. 20143
FORM 97149884 04/10
Thank you for your purchase! The wheel hop inherent in the rear
suspension of the Camaro is the result of loading and unloading
of the factory rubber bushings and stamped steel used in both
the rear sub frame mounts and the trailing arms. Installation of
Lakewood Industries trailing arms will reduce wheel hop and
strengthen the rear suspension. Lakewood also recommends
installation of our sub frame connectors, p/n 30101, to further
strengthen the rear suspension and sub frame.
CAUTION: INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES WORKING
UNDER THE VEHICLE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER TO
ENSURE A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. THE USE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE
LIFT IS RECOMMENDED. MAKE SURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFELY
SUPPORTED AND ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY
GLASSES.
WARNING: DUE TO THE TECHNICAL NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT, AND
SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT, PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS RECOMMENDED.
For technical assistance, please call 216-688-8300 Monday
through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
1. Safely raise and secure the vehicle. Removal of some O.E.
hardware may require the ability to cycle the rear suspension.
2. Working on one side at a time, remove the bolt securing the
O.E. trailing arm to the hub carrier assembly. Removal of the
bolt may require letting the suspension droop or compress for
clearance.
3. Remove bolt securing the O.E. trailing arm to the frame mount,
and remove the original trailing arm from the vehicle.
4. Reuse the factory mounting hardware to install the Lakewood
trailing arm in the original position.
5. Tighten the hardware with suspension compressed and the
vehicle at ride height.
6. Using SAE automotive suspension grease, apply grease via
the supplied fittings.
