4. MEA SUR ING P ROC EDU RE
4.1 Press the power key to switch on the power a nd '0 ' displays o n the Display. Th e gau ge wil l r es to re th e l ast operat ion on dis pla y its elf, with 'Fe ' or 'NF e' symbol sho wed on Dis pla y. Th e gaug e ente rs the au to mo de which ca n aut omatically r eco gnize the subs tra te it self.
4.2 Press t he pro be on a coating layer to be mea sur ed. The readin g on the displa y is the t hic kness of the coating layer. Th e rea ding can b e cor rected by pressing the Plu s key and Min us key wh ile the pr obe is awa y from the substr ate o r the m easurement b ody.
4.3 To take t he ne xt me asu rement ,just l if t t he p rob e t o m o re t han 1 centim ete r and the n repeat the step above . T he gau ge can memo rize th e c o n t i n u ou s m e a s u ri n g v a l u e a u t o m a t i ca l ly w i t h s t a ti s t i c me asu re men t ti mes, Mean whi le , the

5. S TATIST IC S
The gau ge calculat es a nd displ ays a statis tic al analysis of re adings as t hey are take n. The stat ist ics a vailable are :

4.4 To change the measuremen t un it 'um' or 'm il' by Depressin g Po wer key and not rel eas ing it ti ll 'U NIT ' on the Dis play and then pr ess ing Z ero key (3-3 ) .
4.5 To change measu rem ent mode from the singl e t o c ontinuous or vic e v isa, just d epressing Power k ey and not releas ing it til l 'SC' on the Dis play and the n pressi ng Zero k ey (3-3). The sy mbol ' STATS' re prese nt s si ng le mode .

* Number o f Rea din gs taken To clear the st atistical data when s tarting a new set of data, just p res s a nd releas e the ZER O key. In the measurement mode marked by SV, last v alue could be deleted singly by pressing the 'DEL’ key and re­statistics is calculated and displayed itsel f.
6 .S T OR I NG AN D R EC A LLI N G RE ADI NGS
6.1 Re adi ngs t aken are a uto mat ically
saved to the memory of the gauge. The memor ize d d ata can be bro wse d by pr ess ing an d re lea sin g th e 'R D' key to enter into the browsing sta te marked b y 'RE AD' o n the display.
6.2 In the browsing state, a ll th e rea din gs
memori zed can be r ecalled on the displa y by de pressing th e plus ke y ' ' or the min us ke y ' '.
6.3 To del ete sin gly a mem orized value
in the memory, j ust l oca te the reading to be de let ed by the key ' ' or ' ' , then pre ss an d rel ease the key 'DE L'.
If there is an "Err0" on the displ ay, it indicates there is no reading to delete a ny m o re . 6. 4 T o q u it t o t he meas urement state, just depr ess the 'ZERO' key.
7. D ELE TIN G RE ADI NGS
7.1 To de let e a rea ding on the disp lay, j ust press th e key 'DEL' no mater i n the measur eme nt stat e marked 'SV' or in the bro wsi ng state mar ked by 'RD'. Go into th e bro wsing state by ' RD' . Go into th e bro wsi ng state by pres sin g the 'READ' key while enter ing the measur eme nt state by pressing th e 'ZERO' k ey.
7.2 To delete a ll th e readings i n t he memory, just dep res s the 'DE L' key in the measuremen t state m arked by ' SV' on the display for abo ut 4 sec ond s ti ll the number of readin gs memorize d become s 0.

PC, please always click 'the cont inue' button in the instal ling pr oces s.
8.2 Connec t your gauge to y our PC using th e opt ion al cable.
8.3 Switc h o n y our gaug e and ensure the Readin g Scr een i s displayed.
8.4 Start th e s oftware and follow the in struct io ns i ncl uded w it h the softwa re De mo. EXE.
9. C ALI BRAT ION
9.1 Zero a dju stm ent
Zero adjustme nt f or 'Fe' and 'NFe' should be ca rri ed out separatel y. Take the iron subs tra te if 'Fe ' on Display, while take the alum inium sub strate if 'NFe' on the Display. Place the pro be (3-1) on the substrate steadily. P ress the zer o ke y (3 -3) and '0' wi ll be on the Disp lay bef ore lifting the prob e. If pr ess ing the Z ERO key b ut the probe is not place d on the sub str ate or an u nco at ed s ta ndar d. T he z er o adjust men t is in valid.
10.4 If the instrument is not to be used for any extended period , remove batteries.
11. C ONS IDE RATI ONS
11.1 In order t o we ake n the influence of t he m ea sur ed m at er ial o n t he acc ur ac y o f m easu re me nt , i t is recomm end ed t hat the c alibration s sh oul d be do ne on the un coate d materi al to b e mea sured.
11.2 P rob es wil l even tua lly wear. P robe life w ill de pen d on th e nu mbe r of m e a sur e ment s t a k en and h o w abrasi ve the coatin g is. Repl ace ment separa te can be fitted by qu ali fied person s onl y.
12. RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS
12.1 Whe n to restore
It is recom men ded to restore f act ory settin gs in t he on e of following c ase s.
A. The gauge does not measure any more. B. Me asu rement a ccu racy is deg rad ed
c a u s e d B y e n v i r o n m e n t a l condit ion s cha nge greatly.
12.2 How t o res tor e?
9.2 Select an approp riat e c alibration foil according to your me asur ement range.
9.3 Place the standard foil selected onto the su bstr ate or the uncoated standard .
9.4 Plac e the sens or (3 -1) mildl y ont o the standard foil and lift. The readi ng on the display i s the valu e mea sured. The dis pl ayed r ea di ng v al ue c an b e adjusted by pressing the plus key (3-4) or minus key (3-5 ) w hile the prob e i s aw ay fr om th e s ubst ra te or the measured body.
9.5 Re peat step 9.4 until the result is correct.
10 . BATT ERY RE PLA CEMEN T
10.1 When it is necessary to repla ce the
battery, i.e. bat tery vol tage less than approx. 2.2V , the b attery symbol ' ' will appear on the Display.

Restore factory settings inc ludes 'Fe' setting and 'NFe' setting. You can restore one of them or both of them respectively. Please follow procedures below to resto re factory setting.
12.2.1 Please note the symb ol on the display is 'Fe' or 'NFe'.If 'Fe' is on the display,the operation below is restor ing the factory sett ing for 'Fe' type,and if 'NFe' is on th e display,the operat ion below is restorin g the fac tory se tting for 'N Fe' typ e.
12.2.2 Depress Power ke y and not r elease it til l 'CAL' appe ars on the Dis pla y. It is abo ut 12 second s fr om starting depres sin g Pow er key.
12.2.3 when F:H or nF:H is on Dis pla y, l ift t he p ro be t o m or e t han 5 centim ete rs, then pr ess the Z ero ke y a gai n a nd t he g aug e r et urn t o mea su rem en t st at e. T he f ac to ry se tting is r es tored . Reme mber, to restor e se tti ng i s re stored. Rememb er, to re stor e f ac to ry se tti ng s houl d b e
done within 6 seconds at every stage. Or the gauge will quit itself and restoration is invalid.
13 . Not es
13.1 Set tin gs includes re sto ring fact ory se tt ing, un it se tting , S /C s et ting, whi ch sho ul d be d on e w it hin 6 second s at every stage, or the gauge will quit itself and keep its status before .
13.2 It is str ong ly reco mme nded that no change s sho uld be made to the valu e of Ln (control led b y p owe r k ey, It takes abo ut 14 second s fro m starti ng depres sin g Pow er ke y. Its v alue can b e ch an ge d b y p lu s/minus ke y af te r displa yin g Ln a nd releasin g the pow er ke y. S tore i ts va lu e and q ui t by pre ss ing Z er o k ey.) w hi ch w il l se rious ly af fect t he accuracy. I ts v a l u e c a n b e a d j u s t e d b y pr of es si onal per so ns only und er the cases of replac ing a n ew p robe or m ak in g th e ga ug e mo re a cc ur at e.
Genera lly, the larger t he v alu e of Ln , the sm all er th e reading on a sa me thickn ess . Alittle variati on of valu e of L n will ca use a great cha nge in re ading a t h igh en d ( e.g at 50 0 um/20m il) .Th e rules t o adjust the value of L n are a s fol low:
A. Read ing at low en d ca n be adjuste d to
the e xac t value by the plus or min us key.
B. To en large the L n if readi ng at l ow en d
(e.g at 51 um) is ok but reading at high e nd (e.g at 432 u m) is t oo larg e. On the coutrary, to decrea se t he L n if readin g at l ow end (e .g at 51 um)is ok but read ing a t hig h end ( e.g at 432 um) is too s mal l.
