The Magnum Venus Plastech Auto-Level Control is a pneumatic sensing device designed to monitor the resin
level in a tank or wet-out bath. The Level Control can be adjusted to control the resin level within fractions of an
inch to several inches.
There are 4 basic adjustments that are required when using the level control unit:
1. Air Pressure: The small regulator is a low pressure regulator and controls the incoming air supply at 3-5
PSI; any more or any less pressure and the Auto-Level Control will not function properly. (See Figure 1)
2. Flow Control Adjustment #1: This Control is used to establish a time delay between the time a drop in
resin level is sensed and the time a signal is given to start the resin pump or other dispensing device
(Resin Supply On), Item 1. (See Figure 1)
3. Flow Control Adjustment #2: This Control is used to adjust the air volume and pressure emitted from the
resin bath bubbler tube. More volume and the sensor becomes less sensitive (slower to turn pump off).
Less volume and resin sensor is faster reacting. Item 2. (See Figure 1)
4. The fourth adjustment is the depth: The bubbler tube is lowered into the resin bath. The depth for most
applications should be about 1 – 2 inches for less sensitive situations (tank levels, etc.). The bubbler can
be much deeper in the resin with a larger volume of air being emitted.
NOTE: If the Level-Control Unit will not work, it is usually because the pressure regulator (Figure 1) is out
of adjustment. To correct: turn regulator counter clockwise until it is off and then clockwise, slowly, until
unit functions.
