• This appliance is not intended for use by young

• This TV should be placed on a flat, stable surface
before it is operated.
• Total darkness or a reflection on the picture tube
can cause eyestrain. Soft and indirect lighting is
recommended for comfortable viewing.
• INDOOR USE ONLY - this TV is not intended for
outdoor use.
• Do not expose this TV to rain or moisture.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
• Do not place items filled with liquids, such as vases, on
the TV. Do not expose the TV to dripping or splashing
liquids.
• Do not place naked flame sources, such as candles, on
the TV.
• Do not locate the appliance near heat sources such as
radiators, heaters, air ducts or direct sunlight.
• Do not block any of the ventilation openings. Ensure
that vents are not covered by newspapers, tablecloths,
curtains, etc. Do not install in a tight fitting cabinet.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
grille openings.
• This TV is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry
areas or similar moist locations. Never locate this TV
in the immediate surroundings of, or where it may fall
into, a bath, basin, washtub, shower or swimming pool.
• Do not run the power cord under carpet. Arrange the
supply cord away from traffic areas and where it will
not become a trip hazard.
• To disconnect the TV, turn the TV off, switch off the
power outlet and remove the plug from power outlet.
• Do not abuse the supply cord. Never carry the TV by
the supply cord. Never yank the supply cord from
the power outlet; instead, grasp the plug and pull to
disconnect. Keep the supply cord away from heated
surfaces.
• Do not operate the TV with a damaged supply cord or
plug or after the TV malfunctions, has been dropped
or damaged in any way. Consult an authorised service
facility or similarly qualified person for examination.
• When cleaning the picture tube face, turn off the
television and remove the plug from power outlet.
Using a dry cloth, wipe the television, ensuing that no
dust or lint enters any vents.
• This TV is only to be serviced by a qualified person.
There are no user serviceable parts inside.
• This product has not been designed for any other uses
other than those specified in this booklet. This product
is intended for household use only.
• All television receivers are high voltage instruments.
Your PICTURE TUBE is highly evacuated. If broken,
glass fragments will be violently expelled. Scratching,
chipping, or putting undue pressure on the tube is
dangerous and should be avoided. During thunder and
lighting, unplug the power cord and antenna lead to
prevent your Television set from damage. All inside
work on your receiver should be performed by an
authorised repair agent.
• High voltages are used in the operation of this
television receiver. Do not remove the cabinet back
from your set. Refer servicing to an authorised repair
agent.
• Never suddenly stand on, lean on, or push the
television, or its stand. You should pay special attention
to children when they are near the TV. Serious injury
may result if the unit should fall.
• Do not squash power supply cord under the television
receiver.

Ventilation
There should be at least 10cm space between the top, rear
and sides of the TV.
To Prevent the TV From Falling Over
To prevent the TV from falling over due to earthquakes,
children playing, etc., place the TV on a stable horizontal
surface.

Installation
Locate the receiver in the room where direct light does
not strike the screen. Total darkness or a reflection on

Compulsory Warning

Wall or Ceiling Mounting
We do not recommend mounting this appliance on a wall
or from a ceiling.
Lightning or Non Use Periods
For added protection for this appliance during a lightning
storm, or when it is left unattended for long periods of
time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the
antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the
appliance due to lightning and power-surges.
Avoid using the TV near appliances generating strong
magnetic fields (non shielded stereo speakers for
example).

Note: For connection of Television directly to Wall socket or indoor antenna only.
1. Carefully unpack your Magnavox television, ensuring
the following items are present:-
• Instruction Booklet
• Remote Control
• 75Ohm Antenna Lead
• 2 x AA size batteries for Remote Control
2. Read through the instruction booklet and familiarise
yourself with the operation of the product.
3. Connect the antenna lead to the aerial terminal
located on the back panel of the television set and
the other end to the aerial wall socket in your home.
If using an indoor antenna, plug this directly into
the aerial terminal located on the back panel of the
television (refer page 7, ‘Back Connections’).
4. Connect your Magnavox Colour Television to the power
outlet and switch on television.
5. Tune your Magnavox television (refer to ‘Tuning Your
TV’ for further instructions).
Note: This function will automatically store the TV
channels from 0 position in numerical sequence. If you
wish to see the correct stations on the corresponding
channels see page 10.
To carry out any further tuning or fine tuning, please refer
to page 10 and 11.

range, the unit can be operated.
Remote indicator light: When the unit is on, the indicator is lighted.
